“Home cook meals . The food is amazing. Love the staff that works there. Never disappointed other than when I go pork chops are not on the menu ??? if you call Early they will still make it for you.❤️this place”
“The bar and grounds close at 5, not 6 pm (like Google says) in February. The bar owner was very sweet. She asked if we needed anything and let us stay a few extra minutes to look at the view of the lake.Kid-friendliness: Lots of playgrounds for kids outside the restaurant.”
“Folk at work said this place had roaches. I tend to not believe what people say so I've been here a few times and the food has been great and affordable. The customer service is dry and the decor is super outdated but I'm not dining in.”
“My favorite place to eat when I'm in town. I'm always with a big group. Amazing food. ❤️Kid-friendliness: They do have chicken nuggets for the picky eaters out there. ❤️”
“Hands down the best tacos in the Butner Creedmoor area, possibly in Granville county. And run by the sweetest people too. Don't forget to ask for the red sauce”
“Only reason I rated atmosphere so low is they have like 8 fans on high and it's super cold! Which is fine in the summer, but not now that it's cold out. Otherwise nice people and good food.”
“I enjoy using the receipts discounts with a free sandwich. I can give the other sandwich to family or someone standing on the street holding up signsParking: Steady flow of traffic in parking lot and spaces are available.Kid-friendliness: YesWheelchair accessibility: Yes”
“This Arby’s was exceptional! Bigger menu and the friendliest staff ever. Felt like they liked each other and were happy in their jobs. Excellent service and food. We’ll look forward to stopping here again!”
“Good food! Civiche was the best thing we had. Next time we will skip the dessert. Churro balls were a bit inconsistent and icecream was very icy. Def will be back. Cocktails were also excellent”
“The cutest wine spot in Durham. We barely talked because we were so enamored by the decor and artifacts on the wall! We will definitely be back and hopefully we won’t be so shocked that a place like this exists and we’ll actually CHAT! ?”
“Benjamin made my Earl Please (an alcohol free cocktail from their menu) and was so kind and attentive. As a graduate student who can't drink alcohol much due to disabilities, places with options for me me to enjoy delicious and fancy beverages are special. The only thing that makes me sad is that I'm not rich enough to order more than one a day! ?? Someone pay me more money! It's so tasty! Best non-lavender mocktail ever!Dietary restrictions: Alcohol free cocktails; non-alcoholic beverages”
“They have an amazing brunch! Super gluten-free friendly, delicious food, great atmosphere, and the nicest staff. I have Celiac’s and Lavina was so kind and helpful, answering all my questions and making sure our whole group had a fantastic brunch. Can’t wait to go back!”
“The Velvet Hippo is a vibe in itself! I first went months ago and I haven’t stopped coming back! I love this spot and highly recommend checking it out if you haven’t yet! It’s spacious with an amazing outdoor area overlooking downtown Durham. The decor is incredible and one of a kind which only increases the welcoming yet groovy atmosphere! The drinks are always well thought out and balanced and the food is always delicious! Having said all that one of the biggest reasons I keep coming back to this rad women owned spot is it’s staff! They are all amazing! Especially Sarah! No matter how long my week might have been I know I can always come and immediately be cheered up by her infectious personality and friendly demeanor! She always has a smile on her face and never fails to entertain! Not to mention her A-plus skills behind the bar. She is one of my fav bartenders in the triangle! So do yourself a favor and put the Velvet Hippo on your itinerary for a night out in Durham! You won’t regret it!”
“Local flavor and charm! I've eaten lunch here 3 or 4 times over the last 8 weeks. EVERYTHING I've eaten was fantastic (brisket, pulled bbq, chicken salad, green beans, mac-n-cheese, hushpuppies). The portions are gracious, and the service is very friendly and attentive. The dining room is small but has a lot of character/charm.”
“I came here for the first time and felt so welcomed. The coffee was delicious and the service was amazing. They also allow dogs here which is a bonus. Definitely will be returning. Very friendly and welcome :)”
“Everything they make here is absolutely delicious! Additionally, the service is super friendly. They also sell beautiful and delicious chocolates now as well :-) Definitely recommend!”
“Coming from Houston and not being able to find Mexican food that I like here in NC. I can honestly say this place has good food good nice homestyle food and feel to the place. Would ”
“I love the Mabel, which is a honey lavender latte, It is so good. BUT today I tried the orange Shortie (I cannot remember what they named it exactly) but it is absolutely one of the best coffee drinks that I’ve ever had in my life. The orange flavor mixed with the pink Himalayan sea salt it’s absolutely divine. If I could, I would drink it every single day. I’ve been wanting to try the Aphrodite, but it’s always sold out. Maybe one day!”
“Husband had three of the tacos: asada, birria, and chorizo, and according to him all three were really good. Only the birria was served with two tortillas, but the single tortilla-tacos held up, even with a liberal dose of the two salsas provided. My son had the pollo asado taco, and he rated it 4.5 out of 5 (he's 6 and he's never given something a 5/5, so this is an excellent rating for him). I had the plain quesadilla, because there aren't a lot of vegetarian options, but the acid/heat of the green salsa helped cut through the fat nicely. The horchata was nice and thick, and piña wasn't too sweet. Overall, I would be happy to return.”
“My bestie and I stopped by for some Quesabirrias the ladies up there were very nice and easy with us on explaining things and I asked for a pineapple fruit cup and they made it FRESH I love it I wish we had one in columbia and the Quesabirrias they were amazing better than any I’ve tried before if I wasn’t I love before I am now they were so nice and for the price you got enough if not more than enough for the price 20/10 recommend and will definitely be back soon we were are in Durham ”
“One of my favorite spots to grab a sweet treat in Durham. I love their flavor offerings from classic ones like vanilla, chocolate, cookies and cream to their more adventurous ones like pizza, there's something for everyone. Their ice cream is truly so delicious and the flavors are always on point. I love getting the waffle bowl, who doesn't love an edible bowl? Eating the crispy bits around the edges and then getting to the soft, icecream soaked center of the waffle bowl is my favorite part. I also enjoy that it's right next door to Hi-Wire and a pizza spot so I can grab a brew and a slice if I feel like it and people watch in the courtyard outside. Great icecream and definitely a staple in Durham!”
“Excellent Peruvian charcoal chicken and sides like green beans, black beans, salad, coleslaw, maduros, or tostones. The restaurant is a bit small and the parking limited, but they do have a small patio where you can bring your dog.”
“This place is always fun, sometimes crazy crowded and loud but always worth it. If sitting in the shade with tacos and margaritas is your thing, Mezcalito is a standout. Also you can walk over to Ponysaurus across the street.”
“In Durham’s heart, where craft and flavor meet,Ponysaurus reigns, a brewery elite. With beers that dance, and pizzas that delight,Each sip and bite a mirthful, joyous rite.Their Mexican brew, with lime and salt’s embrace,A masterpiece that time shall not efface. Each gulp a journey to a sunlit coast,A liquid treasure, Durham’s pride and boast. The crust, the cheese, the toppings rich and bold,A tale of culinary prowess told.In every pizza, art and science blend,Creating feasts that to the heavens ascend. So raise your glass, let cheers and laughter sound,In Ponysaurus, true happiness is found.A haven for the soul, a feast for the heart,Where every visit is a brand new start.Shakespeare himself, with pen in hand, would writeOf this fine place that shines so bright by night. For here, amidst the ale and savory fare,We find a joy beyond compare, so rare.”
“The coffee is great and the cinnamon rolls on Saturday are out of this world. It's a great space to have a nice espresso, relax, or get a little work done.Parking: Parking in rear of building”
“This is a very nice venue to see a band. I appreciated that they had water and cups available to refill as you wanted. It was nice getting it myself and not having to wait in line at the bar. All the staff I interacted with were very nice.”
“We moved here from Dallas and have STRUGGLED to find good food in the triangle let alone pizza. This place is IT! Amazing taste, good value for the price and the kids love it too. Would give this place 10 stars.”
“One of the best atmospheres in Durham. I moved here, did not know a soul, and have made some of the best friends I’ve ever had in my life thanks to this establishment. The staff is wonderful, and I always feel like I belong. They know a ton of the patrons by name making it a very comforting environment. The ciders are fantastic, and for those who aren’t as inclined to ciders, there are plenty of other drinks like pilsners, ipas and cocktails.”
“We were staying in Creedmore for a fishing tournament and were looking for some good food. Man this place did not disappoint. We had the Cheesesteak tacos and they were awesome. Chips and salsa were great! And the house margaritas are good. Highly recommend!”
“My go-to is the Gates Avenue. Anytime I've gotten a sandwich from here it has been super fresh, very tasty, and service has been great. They only do take out right now but I think this might be changing. I feel like the prices are very reasonable for the great quality food you are getting. Do yourself a favor and skip the Subway, this place is a cut above :).”
