“Very flavorful food with a nice variety on the menu. Service was very friendly. I enjoyed the pesto "chicken" panini while my niece had the avocado toast and my sister had the loaded avocado toast. In the excitement of meeting my family from out of town I forget to get pictures of our food. All of it was served with a nice presentation. We all had speciality coffee with an option for various nondairy milks. Very lovely brunch! I look forward to returning again!“

“Loved this place. The atmosphere is classy, warm and homey. The ladies who served us were well dressed, especially the one in training. The food was unique. I loved the crispy shrimp , the dumplings, the steak. I would have loved my salmon little bit more cooked but that's my fault. Loved the crispy green spices, never had them fried like that. The bill was hefty but it was so worth it. Loved the drink. The ginger was very present!Parking: Parking to the side of the building, paid parking but free in the evening“

The Story Bars • $$

“The Story is a perfect spot to host your event. Hospitality has always been the key to Jamil’s (Med Deli) success, and he and his crew deliver in spades…the food is phenomenal as well! The space is clean and bright, and features several different gathering spaces for your crew. The main level is simple and beautiful, with wood floors, exposed brick walls and front windows that open to the street and let in the cool air if the season is right. The basement has a bar, pool tables and air hockey, and the rooftop patio (newly re-done - can’t wait to see it!) is terrific, particularly if you have guests who are sensitive to, well, Covid. :-(Liz and her crew will make certain that your every wish is granted - well, within reason.Book it - you won’t be sorry!“

Nice cocktails.Parking: The parking lot there is moderate size, but many walk.Free garage one minute west up the street towards Cats Cradle music venue .An easy walk.Wheelchair accessibility: The lot is gravel, and otherwise there are ramps and no stairs. As you pull in ,that area is all concrete and at the front door which enters from the parking lot . Local 506 Bar • $
506 W Franklin St, Chapel Hill

“I love the Local 506! There's a great pizza place next to it, and whenever me and my friends and I see a show here, we stop next door and grab pizza and have some before the show. Local 506 is a very low-key spot. They have drinks and a few seats. The stage is a good height, and you can see everything on the stage pretty well. I really like how intimate the space is, I always get to speak with the musicians after the show, which is awesome. Can't wait to go to another show here.“

PiggyBack Bar • $$

“This is a go-to place for my wife and I on date night. It's small and intimate, and has a great cocktail menu. My wife likes the Bee's Knees. I usually go for a beer or two from their carefully curated draft list. They've got a nice outdoor space, and you can order food that is delivered to you from The Pig, which is amazing! We recommend a plate of BBQ Nachos. There is, maybe, no better bar food in existence.“

Lapin Bleu (Blue) Bar • $

“Neat little dive bar on the Carrboro Chapel Hill borderline. Next door to Rumors (where you can resell clothing) which is why I suggest if you're waiting while clothes are getting checked out then heading on in here to have a drink while you wait. They have college basketball on right now GO HEELS ?? and there's quite a few fellow Carolina fans here to cheer and jeer with! Lapin Bleu also has live music so come on down, grab a bar stool and a cold drink and make sure to tip your bartenders!Kid-friendliness: Bring them kiddos in Mom and Dad“

“Absolutely one of the best Indian places around. The chicken tikka masala is really incredible, but THIS: we tried a new thing tonight called Masala navratan tartlets were absolutely unbelievable. It is this light flaky pastry bite filled with well flavored vegetables alongside dipping sauces. It is an absolute must to try. And they have a massive outdoor covered seating area, alongside an uncovered outdoor eating area. The atmosphere and food all around make for an excellent place without doubt.“

“The Outdoor Space is a Chapel Hill Community Treasure. 5 stars.Indoors I can touch the ceilings. Thats 2 stars. This is an Undergraduate Staple along with Pantana Bobs when I was around 25 Years ago. A must visit bar while you are in Chapel Hill to meet undergrads. The smallest draft beer is 32oz.... the signature cup of a black out night to come.Overall it gets 4 stars, this was a hard decision. The bar is a 3. Just know biger better bars and resturants lie ahead in your future! The outdoor area under the Magnolia Trees is special. As I noticed all the needed new multi family investment next door built 50' high. I bumped my rating to a 4 star because of the location and Trees and the value of the land. This is a "if its not broke dont fix" I get it. However I would add landscaping and more lots outdoor lighting. Outdoor area needs $10,000 investmest.“

“I love the classic dining room inside of the beautiful old hotel. I have only eaten lunch here and think the pulled pork sandwich is excellent out of dishes I’ve had. Some dishes are served on plates that are actually four bowls attached to each other — that is something I very much dislike. The fries also come in cups rather than on a plate. I know this is a strange critique and that perhaps contemporary American serving is about being inventive, but I prefer just regular plates for food. Regardless, I do think the pulled pork is worth getting, particularly if someone else is buying.“
