“This was a wonderful location for a celebration. The service was good. Nothing over the top, but everyone was pleasant and knowledgeable. The restaurant is a calm, intimate environment. Being greeted with champagne at the table was a definite perk for our anniversary. All of the food was excellent, from the bread to the entrees.“
“I always get the biscuits and chicken gravy, which is very good—hard to find quality non-pork sausage versions of the white gravy! My server, Brittany, was very nice and helpfully tried to accommodate dish substitutions. The grits are fine; great texture, but the flavor isn’t my favorite.Dietary restrictions: They have gluten-free foods marked.“
“This is a hidden gem in Chapel Hill. Stylish, modern, absolutely delicious for every taste of Asian cuisine. Absolutely outstanding service. Excellent choice of alcohol and non alcoholic drinks. Sorry, was so excited tasting delicious dishes that forgot to make pics. That’s how awesome it is!“
“We had the chefs tasting menu. It was phenomenal over all. However, there were two stand outs. They were the crispy sea scallop and the iberica pork. The scallop was very tender yet had deliciously crispy edges. The pork was incredible. I'm not sure if I would have identified as pork if I hadn't known what it was. Tender, yet meaty, it was truly a delight.“
“I'm not too much into fast food but this place has amazing burgers (I recommend the mookie one) and dogs. The sweet potatoes fries with the sweet sauce (cinnamon) is so delicious. Service is friendly, the place is small inside but there's seating area outside as well. Highly recommended!“
“My boyfriend and I have had 2 great experiences here. To me, Saturday mornings are perfect for their blueberry pancakes with a side of really high-quality bacon. It's so good and the only thing I've gotten. The first time we went, he got the shrimp and grits, which was really good. The grit cake is a nice touch and probably keeps them from having to make a pot of grits. Cheers for efficiency. The second time we went, he got the New Orleans egg souffle (I can't remember the exact name). He said it was bland but still pretty solid. One star off because our first visit was riddled with slow service and the bland dish on the second visit. The drinks were solid, the coffee was hot, and we hope to be back again and again.“
“Came to NC to visit colleges with our sons and this hidden gem was just down the road from our airbnb - awesome dive bar with very good service and nice people! We will definitely be back! Side note- they don’t serve food but the atmosphere and company make up for it!“
“The “Creamy Vanilla” may be better than regular ice cream. Excellent flavors, well explained to first-timers. This is not unlimited DIY toppings, but reasonable servings of great frozen yogurt, with an additional charge for 1 to 3 toppings. The perfect antidote to a yummy, spicy lunch on Franklin Street. We will be back!“
“This was my first experience at bartaco. The food, service and atmosphere were all delightful!! Barbara at the bar was friendly and informative! Prices are decent. I brought some home to share and after a 45 minute drive back to Fuquay-Varina, the food was still delicious even reheated!!! I will definitely return to this spot after every Aveda class I attend “
“I found this place to be very cozy with a creative menu and lovely cocktails. The bartender was super accommodating-I wanted a French Martini but they didn’t have Chambourd, so he used their house made blackberry syrup. Together, we created a delicious new cocktail! I got the beet salad and tofu skewers and both were delicious! Check them out!“
“Had a great experience. We tried a combination of street tacos which did not disappoint. We ordered chorizo, shrimp, asada, and vegetarian tacos all of which came with cilantro, onion, and lime. The shrimp taco came with a delicious mango relish. All tacos were pretty good. The vegetarian tacos had substantial filling. They let you order taco combos so that you can try different types of tacos instead of ordering three of the same kind. The service is prompt. The ambience is relaxing. Plenty of parking available in the lot. Looking forward to going back.“
“The food came out really fast. My family and I were looking for a spot to eat post half marathon. Definitely hit the spot. The 30pc wings we got half and half spicy and non-spicy to share between 6 people. The spicy was reaaaally hot. Just a warning. The tteokbokki was also fairly spicy too. The rice cakes were cooked really well, not too undercooked or overcooked. The japchae was a good balance to all the spice, as was the edamame. The bibimbap was also really tasty and I really liked the crispy parts of the rice at the bottom of the bowl. Service was really responsive and accommodated our larger party. This is a restaurant that is conveniently located across from UNC-Chapel Hill. Great spot for students to chow down and study.“
“Ran out of BOBA. A dirty tiger W/o boba is gross. They have a long booth of seats so you are sitting right beside people at the next table. No privacy.Parking: Street very busy. May need several loops to get a parking place, that you must pay for.“
“1st time visitor from Frederick, Maryland.Mac and Cheese burger and loaded tator tots were absolutely delicious. Wife loved the Patty Melt. Friends enjoyed the Cowboy Burger.Great customer service. Friendly atmosphere.I highly recommend. Thanks all.“
“I ordered a take out order for someone celebrating a holiday away from home, and they really went the extra mile!! They wrote a special note on the box, and gave them a mini cake to celebrate! I truly love this place, we always get the corned beef hash and their caramel iced coffee and it’s scrumptious. Thank you Carolina Coffee Shop!“
“Excellent local craft brewery with a great food menu and variety of beers. Lunchtime isn't too crowded on a weekday. They sell great swag and delicious barbecue sauces and dry rubs. Ask for Megan at the hostess stand, she and other staff are very welcoming!“
“I love this place to bits. Between here and sweet frog I'd pick these spots over ANY ice cream shop anytime. It's refreshing, delicious, and you get what you pay for... Literally. So load up as many toppings as you can and enjoy whatever you can cram in your cup that puts a smile on your face.“
“I used the Honeysuckle Tea House to host a bridal shower for my sister and was beyond impressed! Justin and his team were so kind and took care of set up and break down. The food was fresh and delicious with incorporated heirloom ingredients grown on the property. Staff made planning and booking the event so easy with everything done virtually and over the phone. Don’t miss out on using this beautiful event space for your next event!“
“So random praise but this was one of like two juice places open at a time I think is appropriate to have juice. The staff explained the menu and I was able to quickly order my juice and be on my way. They have some great music playing. I love the big picture windows. Now the juice. It was good. I made my own blend of their "Red". I wanted to add spirulina. Trying to start off my birthday right. My juicer broke a few years ago and I have missed juicing. Also, their juice was really good, no grainy finish. The next juicer I get needs to be professional quality. I had when you get to the end of the juice and it's like drinking grain.“
“Alfredo's is a pretty solid pizza joint located in university mall. They offer a selection of pizza by the slice when dining in, which is always appreciated when you have a group with diverse pallets. If you like ranch with your pizza - name a more iconic duo - theirs is some of the best. The quality of the pizza itself is pretty good and reminds me of many a slice I've sampled in NYC. Service is pretty quick - usually within five mins of ordering- and the staff are nice. Sometimes you have to clean your own table before sitting but I feel like that's part of the pizza joint experience.“
“Food is pretty decent. Interesting menu, although the food itself does not always live up to the description. The truffle burger tastes like a normal (albeit well-made) burger. The Tarheel burger is pretty good, although it has a miniscule amount of chili in it. Onion rings are great.Server was incredibly nice and accommodating, although she looked like the only person working, so service was a little slow to start.“
“The owner Mandey was (still is) amazing and provided top notch service to me and my department when we organized social events at her bar. She was incredibly responsive, helped us think through logistics, came up with fun themed cocktail menus (a Don Quixote cocktail??) and was fun to work with. Would definitely recommend hosting an event with her.More generally, Zog’s was one of my favorite bars during graduate school - I love the chill vibe, mature crowd, and pool tables (seriously, where else in Chapel Hill can you play pool??). AND IT’S DOG FRIENDLY! Go have a beer, shoot some pool, and pet some dogs. Sounds like a stellar night to me!“
“The food was pretty good. It's a casual restaurant. Food is kind of casual bar food but good. I had the blackened shrimp tacos. My son had the meatball sandwich. Both were good. Was able to park very close to the restaurant. Service was fine. Nothing exceptional.“
“Some of the absolute best food around! Merritt’s has now become out “go-to” place for pregame foot before all Tar Heel events! Best burgers/BLTs/pimento cheese/soup and everything else you can think of anywhere around!!! Cannot go wrong with a stop into Merritt’s!“
