“I’ve lived all over the southeast. From Richmond to Austin. This is my all time favorite bar. Amanda’s as gifted as any bartender you’ll meet in knowing what flavors work well together. If you’re lucky enough to be around when she’s experimenting, which she does frequently, you’re in for a special experience. Add to that, the conversation & atmosphere always make you feel welcome. If you need suggestions on where to eat or what’s happening around the area, these folks are on it. You’ll be glad you checked ‘em out.“
“This was our first visit and we learned a lot about their wines and the best ways to taste and enjoy them. Our hostess was knowledgeable and had a great personality- you could tell she loved what she does! She walked us through each wine and we enjoyed them. Nice open area inside with lovely wines !“

“Our family loved everything about this restaurant. The food was amazing and we loved the atmosphere in this quaint downtown area. You should most definitely stop and eat here if you are passing through. This is a hidden gem.The flavors of the fried green tomatoes are fantastic as well as the glaze on the salmon (we wanted more!).“

“Great place for drinks and bites with friends! Live music occasionally, good pizza, burgers, bacon cheese fries, Cod Sandwich. They switch up their featured beers/drafts often. Fun environment on the busy nights, but also nice when not busy for lunch with a friend. Multiple TV’s for sports fans. Bar, tables, and booths. They make some brews of their own.“
“We stopped in while doing the passport wineries tour. So glad we stopped in. We had a wonderful time. After the wine tasting we did one of the short trails to the dam. Anytime we can have some wine and then do a hike/walk is a great combo for us.“
“First time visiting Shelton Vineyards! We had a wonderful experience in the Grande Tasting with Tamara! She was so knowledgeable. The vineyard has a lovely story. We enjoyed several wines in the tasting menu and Tamara learned our palates quickly and offered a couple other wines to taste. Jennie, the Director of Estate Hospitality, also made us feel so welcome and happy to be there! We will definitely go back to enjoy their one of the concert series events this year!“
“I went here on a random winter Friday in January. Bryan was super friendly and it was literally just me in the tasting room but it was very relaxing. The vibe was so nice even though it was windy out. I got to just chill by the window and do my flight and sip on a glass of their tasty cab franc. Highly recommend, any time of the year. They are open Fridays during Jan/Feb which is one of the few vineyards open this time of the year.“
“Such a great place that doesn't have a big flashy website, just a beautiful cozy small tasting room and vineyard. I was by myself and was able to enjoy the room and wine in a nice cozy chair. I went on a random Friday in January. They are open during the week in the winter unlike many of the vineyards in the area. Highly recommend“
“Their TintoV wine is amazing! My favorite of their sweet wines. The Tamri-colada (forgive me if the spelling is wrong) is a nice semi-sweet and semi-dry wine for a hot day. The shrimp roll at the food truck that is there was nice to go with some of the wines there. The Tinto de verano was also great, but not as sweet. It depends on your personal tastes l, but I would recommend the Tinto wines for desserts and the colada as a refreshing drink to sip on outside in the summers or by a fire.“
“Windsor Run has become a regular winery for us to visit after hiking as it is one of our favorite wineries in North Carolina. We tried another new muscadine wine this weekend that was released in between our last visit - Plum Crazy - which is a red muscadine wine with plum and edible glitter! It was our favorite wine of the day in our wine flight.Wines We Love:Plum Crazy - Plum muscadine wine.White Sangria - Good fruity sweet wine, perfect for the summer!Crystal Dreams - Strawberry muscadine wine.Cherry Smash - I definitely get tart cherry, not as sweet as the other sweet wines they have, but still enjoyable.Summer Breeze - A nice light sweet white wine.Windsorberry - A nice light sweet blueberry wine.Apple Mead - Apples and cinnamon. Enjoyable, but I have to be in the mood for this one as it is not an everyday wine for me.Snow Cream - Vanilla muscadine wine. You can definitely taste the vanilla, but I really enjoyed sipping on this on a warm day. Another one I have to be in the mood for as it is not an everyday wine for me.Fortified Wines We Love:Midnight Run/Midnight Run Grand Reserve - You can definitely taste the difference in these and we prefer the Grand Reserve, but both are very good.Hillbilly HolidayHoney Moon (This has not been in rotation in awhile, so I'm not sure if it will be made again). They also offer great slushies which can be part of the wine flight. My husband did the distillery tour this time and he really enjoyed the background information plus the samples that he got to try. They give you tips for pairing as well.Service is always great when we come - they are dog friendly! Highly recommend this winery if you are in the area.“
“Thanks to Jeremy at Wisdom Table, McRichie Winery was recommended to us and did not disappoint. Their selection of white and red wines was excellent. We especially enjoyed a red wine vertical tasting of their Ring of Fire. Thanks Patricia and Sean for a wonderful afternoon.Skip (M22!) and Laura“
“Delicious French-style wines in a lovely environment. Nice tasting room, knowledgeable tasting host, beautiful property & patio. I took off a star (from an otherwise 5-star review) because of the blaring country music. I would have stayed longer for another glass of wine if it hadn’t been for the music.“

“We happened to stumble on this wonderful establishment on a cool Friday afternoon in March. Wendy was an amazing host who shared her knowledge and love of wine (and beer) with the 6 of us. The guys enjoyed the selection of beers while the ladies indulged in the delicious array of wines. We enjoyed learning about their unique bottles and paper labels. We could not have had a better time! Thank you Carolina Heritage Winery for a 5 star experience!“
