“While trying to find a spot for lunch on New Year's Eve, we decided to eat here since the menu had a lot of variety. Actually eating there was great - the restaurant was cozy and we sat by the wood burning fireplace. The proprietress was so friendly and had a fun conversation about her father and Greece. Food was generously portioned and very tasty. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely come back.“
“Sometimes I feel bad because I think I rate businesses too harshly, like maybe I just expect too much. Then I come to places like this and I see what a 5-star rating restaurant truly looks like.Everything was amazing. Our server was on top of things, continually filling our waters and we never ran low. Our food was delivered quick and fully correct. I ordered the crispy chicken, and, while I'm not a fan of collards (my wife loved them), it was one of the best meals I've had. The presentation was incredible and truly a 5-star dining experience.They don't have a kids menu, but since we really wanted to come here, we called ahead and they graciously said they can make something work. Our girls ordered chicken tenders and fries and they said it was the best (direct quote) chicken tenders they've ever gotten! I can't give this place higher praise than that.Richard, the owner, stopped by our table at the end of our meal and we had a great conversation about their story, their travels, and what led them to open this place that used to be a run-down gas station. This place is the definition of 'excellence' that so many restaurants promise but fail to live up to. “Visited Asheville for a few days and I ate at this location twice. Once to dine in and the other was carry out.The service and engagement from the staff was great! It seemed like a place that gave permission for their staff to be themselves, while focusing on the customers experience. We felt comfortable and at home.We got there before a line formed. It seems to come in waves. We were there mid week around 6:30p. Nevertheless, we ordered our food, got seated and the food began to come out as it was ready.The good was very good. I tried the chicken and waffles to play it safe initially. The waffles, eaten immediately while hot was the best way to go for me. Very tasty. The chicken was also pretty good and flavorful. Well seasoned. Not just that seasoning on the outside but not on the inside foolery. I could’ve done with a little less breading but still good. I went with the chicken fingers type pieces to last on top the waffles.The sides. Maaaaaaaaan!!!!Loved the sweet potato, corn casserole and Mac & cheese. Loved em! “We decided to order everything that looked good and share it all since we were traveling through and likely can't return. We got the gnocchi (amazing) the crispy Brussels (best ever in our lives) beef cheeks (insanely tender and 10/10) pork belly (10/10) sunchokes (good but not exciting) fried chicken (perfect and the strawberry barbecue sauce was perfection!) and the schnitzel (the sauce was ISANE and a perfect dish!). Overall we LOVED this place and the prices were so reasonable! The two of us ate all we wanted and took tons of leftovers home with us. Love loves this place!“

Seating indoors and out.Started with Beer Pickle Spears which are Ale Battered with homemade ranch. Very good..not too greasy.Also tried The Gully Creek which were 2 grilled Mahi Mahi seasoned with Jerk sauce topped with Mango Salsa,Caribbean Slaw and cilantro served with black beans and chips. Good portion size and very favorable.My wife had The Beacon Heights on gluten free bread which was basically a BLT. She thought it was one of the best Gluten Free sandwiches she had ever had!When driving to or from Asheville/Charlotte..stop in and enjoy some real good home cooking“
“This is a cute restaurant with lots of character. My coffee mug said, "Ew...work." you order and pay at the podium and then lots of options for seating. The coffee is very flavorful without being bitter. The burrito was the best one I've ever had. My husband had the traditional and said it was really good. Service waa great. Definitely recommend for a tasty inexpensive breakfast.“
“For many many reasons, we had not been to the Red Rocker for close to a year because it had just gone downhill. We would go there at least 2x a month, so we decided to give it a try again on Friday and we were very pleasantly surprised. The service was fine, but the food was excellent. The salmon was cooked to perfection, the mashed potatoes had a wonderful, creamy quality to them, and the seasonal vegetables were not cooked to the point where they were absolute mush. They still had a little bit of crunch to them. It was delicious.One suggestion…..the website is not accurate as far as the menu. One of our favorite desserts was always the peanut butter pie. It still shows it on the website, yet we were told they no longer have it. There are some other discrepancies as well. To prevent people from being disappointed, I think it would be helpful to have the menu updated on the website.We will go back again.“

“I was thrilled that we walked in on Easter Sunday with no reservation and a bigger party and were seated quickly, even with a full restaurant. The hostess and waitress were 10/10 helpful and kind. Everyone in our party loved their food. The kids portions are very reasonably priced, so I was nervous the portions would be small, but they were very generous. The restaurant was very clean. Everyone had a wonderful time and I would love to come back and visit if we come through the area again. Thank you for making our visit wonderful!“

I got the cheese steak and my wife got the Mac’s burger… we haven’t quit thinking and talking about the food since… the fires, the burger, the cheesesteak ALL OF IT. “I've been told about this place by many locals and I have to say... They were not wrong about the quality of product being presented, I had lunch with my food rep and he mentioned that this was his favorite kind of barbeque as well. (Texas/Kansas mix I believe) I had some burnt ends too which I somehow didn't get a picture of apparently, the customer service was as great as it gets, they were very knowledgeable and had a strong sense of pride backing their work/product. I will definitely be back! I'll review the brewery Attached later on, the brew-flight I had after my meal was phenomenal.“
“I'm not sure still what to say about my meal. I was served a glorious filet mignon over sauce. WHO PUTS A FILET MIGNON ON A SAUCE?!?!?!I asked for a medium cook. It was the high end of the medium and truly tasty. It was served with this weird garlic flower thing that felt very wasteful. I love garlic, so I ate all of it, but whoa, that was a LOT of garlic. I'm glad I'm not a vampire.The service was exceptional. Keep him around because service like that is hard to come by these days.Seriously, y'all, if you have to put sauce with your steak to make it taste good, you're doing steak wrong. Get rid of that weird sauce that does NOT belong with a filet!“

With this being a small establishment, she is sometimes running the show all by herself. But, she is dedicated to making sure everyone is her center of attention and makes time to have a laugh with everyone.“

The deck, lot and building provide lots of variety in seating to choose from. Mac's food truck has excellent cheeseburgers and cheesesteaks. Local friends keep the fire-pits burning in winter.“
“I was very surprised with this place... The food was freshly prepared and served with a large portion... They do not have table service.. You order and pay at the counter.. Food items were moderately priced and service was fairly fast... We had thunder storms the day we visited and had to eat inside..but they have great outdoor seating with nice views of the gardens.“

“I'm giving 5 stars for the service because we didn't want for anything but the person did have the personality of a fencepost. The food, however, was crazy good! I had the shrimp and grits and it was one of the best breakfast dishes I've had in years. My Sister had the Southern Benny and and also raved about it. Really, really flavorful and perfectly cooked. The complimentary beignet beginner was a nice touch, too.“
