“Everything we've tried has been SO good! My favorite is 5 flavor pound cake and my son is obsessed with the red velvet cake. But we've tried several things and they've all been absolutely delicious. The owner is always very welcoming and friendly, too.“
“First time here, but definitely not the last one. Quiet and cute. Had some cappuccino and hot chocolate, pleased with both: not too sweet, just right. Drinks are a nice compliment to the sweets and yums. From sweets we had a brownie and Caramel Apple Pie, both are very delicious. Played some tiny JENGA. They also got a giant JENGA set, giant chess set, and other board games. The shop is clean, and so is the bathroom. Nothing feels outdated. Overall experience is 10/10, would recommend.“
“A little further away than the local grocery stores, but worth the time. Great prices, selection and service make them my first choice for buying sliced breads, hamburger and hotdog rolls. Other items carried, such as their soup starters, should not be overlooked.“

“I can’t believe how good this place was. The vibe, the welcoming and smiling staff, the food … all totally on point. The coffees- we tried hot and cold- were each THE BEST we’ve had in Charlotte…no contest. No paper cups here if you eat in… coffee only as it should be served: in real mugs on saucers with decorative art in the foam that holds while you drink it. The bahn mi sandwich was light and tasty like it should be- loved the bulgogi one. The bread was beyond anything I’ve found locally. I can’t say enough to express my delight with this place… a hidden gem in Matthews that you NEED to experience!!?“

“Oh my God!!!!!!!!!! The Sweetest Thing Bake Shop was in my apartment complex! I just snarfed a gigantic brownie and took three bites out of a cinnamon roll…. that was cold….. OMFG IT WAS DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had a long day and needed something worthy of it, it delivered! I’m saving the rest of the cinnamon roll for the morning, but kind of want it now so we’ll see how that goes lol :-) AMAZING DESSERTS!!“
“Genuinely my favorite donuts and I myself am very picky with my donuts. They are soft and delicious and I will drive out of the way to get some. It's a cute store in a nice area and it's often sold out which should tell you how good they are. Def recommend.“
