“This is the place at Kure Beach where "everybody knows your name" and the friendships are strong. The reason for my most recent was the Retirement Party for a local guy: one of the Awesome bartenders contacted some of the regulars and we put on a great celebration! Our other Rock Star Bartender was serving Cold beer, there was music on the jukebox, shooting pool - sounds like a typical bar?. Nah- it's better- it's Bud&Joe's!”

“I got dinner here on a weekday in April and it was fairly busy. The food quality was a bit better than average and the wait for the food wasn't too long. The waitresses were nice and friendly. This restaurant always seems busy and packed in all the previous summers that I've walked by, so the wait is usually extremely long in the peak season.”

“Went for the famous Tuesday night pork chop special. We had a reservation but had to wait about 15 mins past that, but not a huge deal. They can't ask patrons to hurry up! The salad had the famous dressing that's so yummy but was very light on the lettuce. Mostly beets and chickpeas, which I don't eat but my husband does. So I had only a few bites because there just wasn't much lettuce for 2 people. Still yummy. After waiting a while, the pork chops came out . Hubby's had a balsamic and peach glaze topping which he said was "ok". Mine had the garlic and mozzarella topping, great flavor, but the chops were pretty tough. So were his. They can't butterfly them because they're bone-in. I struggled to cut it because of how tough it was, and also how dark the restaurant was (and when the chop is covered with cheese it's hard to see what was fat and what wasn't). Not our first time, and not our last....service (once seated) was great and we've had great food there before, too. It's about vacation season so better make a reservation!”

“This spot has been on list to try for a while now and I finally got the chance to stop in. It was totally worth the wait. We were greeted with a friendly smile and a warm welcome. I was given a menu but I asked what was a favorite vegan dish. I decided on the owner’s favorite the ramen noodle dish with tofu. This is a ramen dish without a broth and it served with a white creamy goodness sauce!!! They offer a peanut sauce as well but I went with a ginger sauce. To topIt off I got the coconut cake with the blood orange filling…there are literally no words ?…I’m speechless and so happy with my dinner!!!!My expectations were far exceeded!!! The food was outstanding!!! Service was WOW!!!Not that it really matters but the bathroom wallpaper was adorable too.”

“This is THE place to your barbeque fix! The main entrées and the sides are always on-point. Before you leave, be sure to hit up their Sauce Bar to gather all the sauces and pickles and hots you need. Oh--and be sure to get a large banana pudding (or two) plus a medium cobbler of the day. “We went twice during our stay here. The food & service are excellent! The staff goes above and beyond . We were staying down the street at a condo unit on vacation from NH. To our complete shock our car was towed right out of the condos parking space while we were sleeping! Come to find out later on that it was due to the owner giving us last years expired parking pass to hang. While we were trying to figure out what to do we went into Kate's pancake house to eat and ask the wait staff where we could find a taxi to get a ride to collect our vehicle. This is when they all jumped in to look up numbers and help us in any way they could. Then Stehanie our waitress offered to " just drive us" after her shift. She said she felt so bad for us and just wanted to help. She drove us to Willmington to get our vehicle . The staff looked up phone numbers for us, made sure we were taken care of and even drove us! This place is a true example of southern hospitality ! Steph if you see this review..just know what a blessing you are! I hope all you give comes back to you 10 fold. To help us like you did and expect nothing in return ..well that speaks volumes about who you are.Thank you !”

“My sisters and I have traveled the country in search of the best pimento cheese and The Southerly has it! Homemade and on top of a cheddar biscuit with egg - it will change your life. This is a grab and go breakfast spot with homemade biscuits made from scratch with an incredibly friendly staff.”

“We went here for our 5 year anniversary and really enjoyed our experience. The waitress was super friendly and paced our meal out perfectly.Just about every meal comes with a salad and side. You get a wipeable paper to write down what you'd like on your salad and it's catered towards your taste buds.We got a bottle of wine and each got steak, his was a ribeye and I opted for prime Rib. Our steaks were prepared the right way and when we were done, the waitress boxed our dinners for us. I was very impressed with our level of fine dining. They even signed a card for us and that made our evening. We both enjoyed this experience and look forward to celebrating here again soon.”
