“I would without a doubt make the drive from Asheville to Marshall for the sole purpose of eating their “nachos”. They were absolutely amazing - and if you save some of them for after a night of drinking, they’re insanely better.”
“We loooove this coffee shop. The coffee flavors are delicious and the pastries are wonderful. If you're lucky to pop in when they have fresh empanadas, they are fantastic. The staff is super generous and we enjoyed stopping in often during our visit.”
“It's a quirky fun place that bridges establishments back in the day that were often the only place to get supplies for a ways and today's places with fun yard scultptures, unique snacks, and artisan crafts. Just a great vibe.”
“Nice regular brewery - pets allowed in front portion. We enjoyed it and town is small. Tough parking large vehicle but 25’ RV was ok. Beer is terrific and changes up.”
“Wife and I made a trip from Weaverville and it was very enjoyable. The food was delicious. We had hamburger steak with onions and brown gravy, macaroni and cheese, and okra. It was all incredibly good. The way they made the Mac cheese was perfect...cup style bowl where the cheese was running down the side a little bit... cooked with heart for sure. Atmosphere was nice- relaxing and super friendly staff. We will go back for sure the next time we are in the Asheville area.”
“Hollie, with Sweet Monkey, provided the catering for our wedding this passed weekend. We can’t say enough good things about working with her! Hollie was wonderful at communicating back and forth and putting together a menu for the wedding that was absolutely perfect! She provided us with items for cocktail hour, and while guests were raving about the dip she made, seeing firsthand the joy on a friends face with her cheese sauce said more than words could. Dinner was a perfect taco bar and accompanying sides. All that, plus she was so extremely professional and kind both before and during the wedding. You could do no better working with Hollie and Sweet Monkey for your catering or just stopping by her location for a meal! Thank you so much for a wonderful time, Hollie!”
“My classmates and I go there once a month to eat and enjoy our time together.Good friends, good food, good service.Parking: If they're really busy, parking can be a problem.”
“Love this coffee shop. Delicious lattes and the food is sooooo good. We get the same thing every time. I get the veggie Reuben (it’s a bit on the salty side so if you’re not into salt try something else), my mum gets the blt, and my husband gets the turkey something or other. We all have very different food tastes and this place satisfies all of our desires.”
“The young lady at the counter was helpful and very nice. The food was delicious and I plan to bring my grandkids for a yummy burger and fries.Kid-friendliness: Wide space and the family atmosphere makes me feel like the kids will enjoy their meals and play a game or two”
“Came in at the end just as the young man was cleaning up for closing. I asked if he was still open & he said yes. I asked if he just wanted to do a dealers Choice with spinach & mayo lol. Homie hooked me up! Thank you Kind Sir ?”
“Nice quiet little place with pleasant servers. I ordered the Italian sandwich with the side salad. Everything was great. I definitely will have the Italian sandwich again maybe even something else else.”
“Fantastic restaurant. Visited on Easter Sunday with the family & the experience was top notch!! The ambiance was delightful & pleasant. The service was above & beyond special!! The food was exquisite @ cooked to perfection!! The desserts are to die for & so wonderfully tasty! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a truly unforgettable culinary experience! You will truly enjoy yourself!!”
“Wow! Had a great meal and excellent service. The daily special sea bass over pasta was really tasty. My wife had the scallops and pork belly. Took dessert home for later. Highly recommend and will be back.”
“First time here and we came for brunch! Very friendly staff and quick service! I ordered the shrimp and grits and my boyfriend had the bread pudding waffle and chicken. Both were impeccable. And they did not skimp on the shrimp in the grits! That creole sauce on top of the dish was chefs kiss. Can’t wait to come here again!”
“First time ever going to this location. It was a bit crowded, but it's a Friday night, what do you expect? My fiancé and I sat at the bar, which was being run by Katrina, and she is a sweetheart. We got the Violet Mule and the Blooming Sangria, both made excellently. We tried the Beer Battered Cheese Curds, and they were delicious. My fiancé got the Chicken Marsala, and I tried the Peloponnesian Spaghetti. Both accompanied by a side Cesar salad, the dishes were phenomenal! This is definitely worth the visit. The prices are worth it, I promise. Will be back again for sure.Vegetarian options: There are a few vegetarian options.Dietary restrictions: They have gluten-free or gluten substitute dishes available.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair ramp in back by the rear entrance.”
“Lived in weaverville for 25 years, my first time (it has always been busy every other time we tried).Service was really good, I got a grilled chicken sandwich, grandson got a burger, grand daughter got shrimp. All were really good. The thing that would have been better would be to upgrade their French fries, they weren't good. It is a small place and can get a little loud, but it is that kind of place.”
“We have become regulars at Paul’s Hoppy Trees…Great local “Cheers Bar” atmosphere in this Hallmark Card Small NC Mountain town, ten minutes from Asheville without the hoards of visitors…Do yourselves a favor and visit Hoppy Trees and Weaverville for a refreshing change…PS…Paul serves the Best local Craft Beers AND Liquor Drinks…And..the teachings of Bob Ross as an extra!”
“We are staying in Hot Springs with our family and ordered three pizzas for carry out yesterday evening. They were absolutely delicious! The crust was crisp and they weren't loaded down with heavy cheese and toppings like many pizzas are. They definitely appealed to our tastes!! My son loved the light sprinkle of parmesan cheese around the crust.”
“Cute store with lots of local artisan gifts, books, crafts, clothes. Coffee and baked good are very good. Friendly staff willing to help or provide local recommendations.”
“Sweet little spot in the most beautiful area of Leicester! Happy to have stumbled upon this place filled with local goods, genuine kindness, and really REALLy good food! I enjoyed a fresh kale+chicken+Parm+Caesar wrap w/ a side of broccoli salad. It was so good, I will be back!”
“Great brewery! Indoor and outdoor seating. Dog friendly. Their beer selection is great, something for every tastebud. I had their west coast IPA and it was great. They have food available as well. If having an event, they have an area to rent out for the event. Parking is free and along the street. Can be limited when busy. There is a walking trail near by as well. Close to other businesses and shops to walk around afterwards if you wanted. They have bands once in a while in their outside seating area too.”
“Great taproom small and cozy recommended by a local. Smaller on the interior but covered patio. Walking distance to Zebulon brewing and other great options in Weaverville. Staff and owners are welcoming and you are supporting a budding scene of great brews owner by great people. Cheers!!”
“I haven't had a pizza from Blue Mountain that I didn't love. Whether it's a single slice for lunch or a whole pizza for dinner. The house salad is also pretty tasty too.”
“Can't recommend enough. When we dropped my son off at Mars Hill for college I was worried that he wasn't going to have a place to hang out and get a beer without having to get a fake ID, but when we walked up to the bar they didn't even card us! Glad to know there's still places that aren't afraid to bend "the rules" and do business their own way!”
“Great tacos! Fresh made chips. Doesnt suck they the are next to a brewery so you can grab a beer or three with your meal. Nice selection of outside seats, shaded and unshaded.”
“Absolutely the best coffee shop around. Eric, Sarah and Vicky are amazing! We look forward to going in there every weekend. Eric is a perfectionist and it's well worth it.”
“Spectacular gem! This is a cozy location with a very unique feel, ample seating and delicious, unique drinks!I normally just get a regular latte, which I did this time- it was very good. I also got “the golden hour”- which was also very good- it’s a great twist on a standard latte and I loved the turmeric! We loved the seating options. They also have games, chess, many books, in addition to supplements and book’s from local authors. The bathrooms are clean, as is the whole establishment. This place is everything I could want in a coffee shop!I’ll certainly be back anytime in in town and I’m jealous of the college students who are able to walk here at any time!Parking: Limited street parking nearby, 2 hour limit.”
“Everything was perfect as usual , except the fried okra. It had alot of hard stick like places in it. Couldn't chew it or swallow it. It was like eating tree bark shavings. But like I said everything else was 5 stars as usual. One of our favorite places to eat.”

“This was hands down one of the best dinners I’ve ever eaten. As a chef myself I really appreciated the plating skills and speed. The Chilean sea bass was perfect along with the bed of risotto it was on. I loved the fried oysters as well and for anyone who enjoys cider beers the one they have is really tasty. Overall it was one of the best experiences eating out I’ve had. The service was incredible and this place is definitely a hidden little gem that I recommend to anyone.”
