“Food and service is always good. This is our go-to for Chinese takeout.EDIT: I think something has changed here with either management, kitchen, or both. Service is still great, but the food has not been up to par with what it use to be. Teriyaki beef sticks were bland, dumplings not the same quality they were. I think we're going to start looking for alternatives.“

“I ordered the donkatsu and the yellowtail roll for take out.The yellowtail roll was very good, with minimal rice thats not flattened to death like some other places. It perfectly encompassed a large piece of yellowtail that tasted fresh. It was very addictive in taste and mouth feel for me.The donkatsu was breaded and fried perfectly with minimal breading (which i love) surrounding a nice juicy pork cutlet. Also very good.I definitely want to come back to try the other sushi options.“

“I defiantly would like more flavor in the food and maybe shouldn’t have ordered tempura style veggies. I envisioned something else in mind and the batter on the veggies filled me very fast. I ended up giving up on the veggies and went for my sushi roll which was delicious. I love Sake and the bartender recommended a nice smooth one for us. I will go check out other locations in town.“

“Ordered hibachi chicken and teriyaki chicken, veggies and fried rice. It is a small restaurant so it's best to do takeout. The food was delicious and I will be ordering from there again. The cleanliness score was great and that means a lot. I took home one of their menus so I can call ahead next time. Might try the Pad Thai with peanuts next time. There are Chinese, Japanese and Thai options available.“

“Another great spot for good sushi in south Charlotte! Good nigiri selection above and beyond the basics, including toro, uni from Japan, and ishidai as a special when I stopped in.Overall vibe - it's a small-ish place; not huge, which I like. Not fancy but not super casual either. Pretty quiet when I stopped in for lunch on a weekend. There are tables, a bar area, and a small sushi bar - the guys working there were happy to talk about what they had in, from where, etc. I always appreciate an interactive experience.It's a bit of a drive for me up in Huntersville, but I for sure see myself coming back here next time I'm in the area.“

“This place is definitely worth a visit!! Sushi is one of our favorite but hard to find a good place. This place checks all the boxes. Food- I think my rolls were Spider, Hibachi beef and Miru Mountain and they were sooooo good! My fiancee ordered a bento box and the meat was very good and tender. The service was great, the staff is very welcoming and attentive. The presentation was beautiful and price is very reasonable. The atmosphere is nothing pretentious, is on the darker side, more light would be nice. We will definitely be back! Enough parking right in front of the restaurant, so that is a plus!“

“I have always been interested in trying a sushi burrito after seeing them across the internet in past years. So, when I came across King Fish Poke, it seemed like the perfect place to try to them out! I ordered the Braveheart sushi burrito and added avocado and seaweed salad. Everything was super fresh and tasted great! It's not super functional so I would probably stick to poke bowls in the future, but I was happy that I got to try it out! The service was great and friendly and the food was delicious so all the more reasons to stop in here and check it out.“

“Go-to Asian food. It's quick, good, and relatively cheap. Not the best sushi I've ever had, but definitely worth the price. The entree portions are large as well. I've been numerous times for lunch and dinner and haven't found a better go-to in Charlotte!“

“The food is fantastic I definitely recommend the salmon avocado roll and the vegtable tempura it's super yummy the staff aren't very socialable but I am still a frequent guest here since trying it I definitely think the sushi tastes fresh and delicious great casual spot for hangout with family and friends and good for a quick little date night :)“

“This place is an amazing. It's a small place on Monroe Rd, but they have a BIG IMPACT. The food is great. I typically get the eel and they have about 4 eel options. The wasabi is great. “Sushi 101 has never let my hubby and I down. It’s been awhile since we went out for sushi, and I had a limited selection being pregnant. Phuong was excellent and she even provided a suggestion for my shrimp tempura roll, since I couldn’t get the Ballantyne Roll. My hubby had the S&S dish and we also split an order of the vegetable fried rice. Everything was so delicious and satisfying!“

Gloves at every serving table make it easy to protect yourself when making your plate, staff all wearing masks properly, tables skipped so seating keeping us at safe distances. “Ishi used to be our go-to date night spot for sushi and hibachi. They had great prices on excellent quality and sized sushi. However, we haven't been back since the pandemic shut them down to carry out only. We keep hoping they'll open back up and offer dine-in, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen 4 years later. We live 35 mins away, so takeout isn't feasible and we don't want to eat in our car in the parking lot. If they ever open back up entirely, we'll be back!“

“just a heads up if you order the hibachi chicken dinner and it says it comes with soup and salad you have to make sure you ask for the soup or you'll get home and will not haveit. call back and they said you have to ask for the soup even though the menu says it comes with????04/04/24“

“My experience here has always been top notch and delicious! It has been consistently great from when I was pregnant to now sharing meals on dinner dates with my son. The staff is always friendly and helpful. To-go orders are just as great as dining in as well. All this to say: you should go and experience this comforting place.“

“I love the hibachi in this place! They know how to make a really good shrimp sauce. I can't do any of the other rice bowl places in town. This one has spoiled me. It's family owned and run. I've been going here for years, never disappointed and always greeted with a smile. There's even a gitchy jewelry counter that's fun to peruse while waiting. Sometimes I find a piece of bling that really brings me joy. The food and atmosphere is a perfect pair.“

“This is a big hibachi restaurant located in the University area of Charlotte, NC…it took way longer than expected for the chef to come but it was well worth the wait. “After reading one of my other pho reviews of other pho places I'm Charlotte I've really been contemplating one question: What is the quintessential American pho experience.Now, personally, I prefer the tight, small, let's say "quaint" vietnamese places preferably with a bunch of dudes outside smoking and/or playing cards. There has to be some kind of gambling machine nearby. The music is vietnamese. that kind of stuff.Be-em has truly nailed it. Heart mind and body. There's no host, no server to seat you, you walk in and order from a nice big tablet. Take your time. Read through it all. It's touchscreen so it's very intuitive. I love it. Really feels like more restaurants need to follow exactly Be-ems lead.For the heart, this place is beautifully decorated with high ceiling and just it's a while vibe you gotta check out. For the mind, there are these laminated papers that have the story behind the restaurants name and frankly it almost brought a tear to my eye, really soothes the soul to see hard work pay off and be so real. For the body, well ultimately this is why every one eats, the pho was great! Definitely a google maps 5 star. I will now include what I call my "graduated pho scale" which is the most critical lens with which I grade wherein a 10 is essentially michelin star so-to-speak. This pho gets a 7 which is very good. The broth for me was a little salty but the meat was excellent. That reminds me I gotta rant about this meat cuz it was really really good. The pho got a 6 but the meat elevated it to a 7 for sure.You can really taste how they pride themselves on the meat I loved how the brisket had a smokey quality and I've never gotten more meatballs served to me in a pho "special" although I don't think it came with tendon or tripe. That said, this is probably the best experience for first time pho tryers and for kids! They have lots of Boba tea options and pho is only a little bit of the menu there are lots to try!Overall experience was a 10/10 this isn't just a restaurant it is a total hang out spot like get a drink with your friends and chill super cool kind of place!“

“Wonderful clean buffet run by a very accommodating family. They didn’t have roast duck on the buffet available as yet when I was there but went above and beyond to make me some. It was fantastic roast duck. Their butterfly shrimp was also outstanding. So was their vegetable chowmein. I want to go back to sample much more of their buffet items. Restaurant was overall very clean also.“
