“On a rainy Sunday of course the place was packed. We had placed our name on the list via the internet, so once we checked in, we only waited 5minutrs before being seated. The space was a little cramped, but I am a thick chic, lol. Although our space was an arms length away from our neighbors, I didn’t feel violated until those of us who was sitting on the bench had to excuse ourselves. Jessica was our server…she wasn’t perfect on a busy Sunday but she was perfect for us. She was professional, kind and understanding. She even went out of her way to get an item she thought was out!!! “Abugida is the best Ethiopian in Charlotte, the food is made fresh everyday. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. If you haven't tried Ethiopian, they will help you with the menu. This food is amazing and their injera is always fresh and delicious. Always order coffee!“

“I have been going there for years. Known for great food and service. This time , the cleaners were still cleaning the floors with copious bleach that permeated the small space. Very off putting. The server came by every minute wanted us to order and we finally had to tell her we need 5 minutes. Food was good but portions have definitely shrunk in size.“

Although there were no "roasted" grape tomatoes(plain cold grape tomatoes). It was tasty and satisfying. My mom had the bissell breakfast which she throughly enjoyed.“

“Our first time in an Ethiopian restaurant, so much so that we asked for cutlery so we could eat, without knowing that by tradition, we eat with our hands. We had great service from our server Noah, who was very quick to take our drink order and provided attentive service for our entire dinner. We both ordered a Chimichangas (my wife had the chicken and I had the beef). Both were delicious, well seasoned and served hot. (fwiw) noted the staff were sweeping and cleaning the restaurant tables quickly, after a table turned.“

“An absolute gem! Everything is vegan and gluten-free...a dream come true for someone like me with allergies. “Deli St has become my go to place for breakfast, lunch, and tacos! Their menu is extensive and vegan choices are plentiful. I have never tried anything I didn’t like here. The place is super cozy and nice with local art and cool plants. Outdoor and indoor seating so that you can enjoy our beautiful Charlotte weather when possible (almost all the time). “Wow. First off service was very southern and hospitable. The waitress made an effort to check in and give suggestions as it was out first time. She even went over the different sauces that were on the table! The food was great as well. Our appetizer was the chicarrons and they were still sizzlings, so extra pints on that. We got a meat bbq platter and the salmon meal. Both had their fare share of salt but I enjoyed the experience of North Carolina bbq. The aesthetic of the restaurant also makes this place memorable. You have the history in the building and nice spot in the center of town.“

“I ordered the açai bowl. This was literally a breath of fresh air after almost not eating one in over a year. Everything tasted absolutely delicious and fresh. The service was amazing. Plenty of toppings. I love that you could have two extra toppings. I wish it had a little bit more açai in it. I also never had a açai bowl with Nutella so I thought that was extra delicious. There’s a variety of fruit that you can add and you can create your own bowl. This is a place I would definitely recommend and you can have a guilt free dessert. “We went on a Saturday evening to enjoy some food and entertainment. The band was good but the food was not so good. I ordered meatloaf that came with mashed potatos and green beans. The potatos and green beans were very good but they had no gravy for the potatos or meat loaf. The meat loaf was dry and tough to cut with a fork. It did have a bit of spicy sauce to jazz it up but the dish was so dry I ended up not eating it my wife ordered the fish which was a smaller portion but she liked and enjoyed.“

It was difficult deciding what to eat and we decided to order several appetizers in order to get a good sampling. Spinach Pie, Zucchini and Eggplant Chips with Tzatziki Dill, Dolmades, Grilled Octopus and a ZPita Sandwich. All of the above were very good and I look forward to returning on my return to Charlotte.“

“This place is definitely worth a visit!! Sushi is one of our favorite but hard to find a good place. This place checks all the boxes. Food- I think my rolls were Spider, Hibachi beef and Miru Mountain and they were sooooo good! My fiancee ordered a bento box and the meat was very good and tender. The service was great, the staff is very welcoming and attentive. The presentation was beautiful and price is very reasonable. The atmosphere is nothing pretentious, is on the darker side, more light would be nice. We will definitely be back! Enough parking right in front of the restaurant, so that is a plus!“

“I have always been interested in trying a sushi burrito after seeing them across the internet in past years. So, when I came across King Fish Poke, it seemed like the perfect place to try to them out! I ordered the Braveheart sushi burrito and added avocado and seaweed salad. Everything was super fresh and tasted great! It's not super functional so I would probably stick to poke bowls in the future, but I was happy that I got to try it out! The service was great and friendly and the food was delicious so all the more reasons to stop in here and check it out.“

“My wife and I ordered the Chicken Fried Rice and Yellow Chicken Curry with Thai Tea. While my wife's curry was a bit spicy (she ordered no spicy), she loved the taste. My wife also said the Thai Tea was delicious. The chicken fried rice was excellent as well.Our service was excellent. Although our server initially brought our the wrong drink (these things happen anywhere and everywhere), the issue was corrected immediately and a new drink was brought out swiftly. We were even given to-go boxes and to-go drinks while we prepared to depart, so that our requested refills didn't go to waste.The indoor architecture and decorations are beautiful. The soft music inside adds to the already relaxing atmosphere. We loved the overall feel of the venue.“

“This place is an important part of our history. My husband I used to live nearby and have spent many days and evenings here. We would bike through the neighbourhoods and stop by for refreshments, delicious food and the wonderful open and welcoming vibe. From the seating areas, to the arrangements of shelves, décor, and staff, everything seems lively yet peaceful, funky yet authentic. Once I seemed a little sad about my sandwich order being wrong, but one of the owners noticed and walked up to me. They made it right and gave us a couple punches on our card for next time (the punches count towards free food items). He is also one my favorite people there, he seems to have a deadpan expression but when you talk to him, you find how kind, funny and nice he is. Once he helped me make a really nice cup of tea and showed me his ice cube trick so the tea could steep evenly and the boiling hot water wouldn't scald it :) . We have also enjoyed hanging out at the bar and have had great conversations with bartenders who happen to be really cool people. The fridge is also always filled with really interesting drinks and the sammiches are SOO delicious! I haven't been here in a while but can't wait to stop by again!“

I was happy that you were still providing a fresh meal that late in the evening (because some restaurants microwave food), and I still had enough to take to work the next day (but wished I had more), and still tasted delicious. They were notably generous in portion size. The Godfather pizza I enjoyed was truly remarkable. For dessert, the Dulce Le Leche was exquisitely delightful. I extend my gratitude to G for ensuring a fantastic dining experience.
