“As you pass the Skinny Cook, it looks like a hole in a wall restaurant, but it's much more. It's where you eat home cooked meals with family or friends. It's a well-known place by all locals in Monroe. It stays busy for breakfast and lunch. The prices are very reasonable, you can't beat it. I had lunch there and ordered the loaded tots and chicken wings. The wings were spicy but not super hot, just right. The loaded tots came with tons of melted cheese and bacon bits. “Summer 2023. This was my first time coming to this restaurant for my daughter and my mother and I. Since we never been there before, the lady took her time and explained the menu and what they offered. I never had Basa fish. I tried it anyways and it was sooo good. Nice and buttery and fluffy and tender. I will always order Basa anywhere I go if they offer it on the menu.The lady made sure we were okay. We walked us to our seat and didn’t let us get up for anything. After I told her that cannot have carbs like fries or potatoes, etc, she gave me extra side of broccoli that was very well seasoned and steamed. “It was my first time ordering takeout from here and there was a mistake with my order and the staff bent over backwards to fix it without trying to place blame on the customer and that's rare these days. They also taught me the best way to order my preferred food in order to avoid any confusion in the future. The manager Tan is awesome.“

“Great food, problem was they had huge parties and it took them 15 minutes to get a waitress to the our order. We ordered took 20 minutes to get the food, and the waitress never put in our appetizer order. Food was great ,delicious and a plenty. I just don't understand why we were forgotten and how come Noone just took our order.“

“Best place I've eaten in a while. Fantastic service that knows that front of house charm matters. Clean building with an open kitchen and I know that open kitchens have to work much harder to maintain cleaning and order. Redicously large helping thats around 14 a person with a giant fresh takeout cup of tea and Lime. Fabiana was great.“
