First Brew Bar • $
110 Goldsboro St, Pikeville

“Located in a strip mall with a hardware store on one side and a connected grill/restaurant on the other, you don't want to miss this local brewery. It's larger than it appears with a comfortable lounge area with lots of seating in the front and a bar in the back. Be sure to check out the door--now table bejeweled with bottle caps. It's a work of art! Beer and wine only. Wine is sold by in bottles. A nice variety of many different types of reds and whites available at a moderate price point. You can also order wine slushies served frozen and sweet. First Brew is best known for its beer selection. They have 16 rotating flavors on tap. Flights are available for sampling or you can choose your favorites in 10 ounce or 16 ounce pours in real glassware. Other beer options include bottles and cans available in the cooler. The majority of their beers are craft beers brewed locally in North Carolina. Look for unique sours and ciders. There are other options, including domestic beers available.A menu for John's Grill is available and you walk into the adjoining room to place your order. While you pay next door when you order, they do hand deliver to First Brew. Fried garlic cheese curds are a tasty side to cold beer. The manager was our bartender, and did a great job taking care of us and answering all of our questions. She was friendly and efficient and working hard! The day we visited was cool out so no one was on the back deck. Outdoor seating, barbecue grills, and corn hole look to be popular activities. Check out the fence with lots of signs and interesting decor.First Brew is worth the stop! I'm excited to be the first to review First Brew and hope other Yelpers will support this local business too.“

“Sam is an awesome dude! Visited this place Wednesday night after a convention. I’m not a big beer person but I tried the Triple Barrel Big Bad Baptist Whiskey and Rum Barrel pour- wish I had gotten a bigger pour- it was great! Cool vibe, great beer selections. The pretzels were amazing! Got this cool cider to go - I’ll visit again.“

Foothills Torch Pilsner
Bottle Shop

“A true adults bar. I don't frequent bars because of the crowd and we don't drink often. We stayed above the bar in one of the lofts and figured we'd try it out. Get a flight. They're fun! My favorites were number 6 (their brand red ale) and 22 (pumkin/yam ipa-i think) they are so kind and even the customers are kind! You just don't find that anymore. We will be back!“

Cooper's Tavern Bar • $
2304 US-117 ALT, Goldsboro - 5.91 miles

“Coopers is a good bar for those who are not looking for thebdance club scene. Drinks are cold, covered patio, (they have a fire pit) and on weekends they have a DJ. Sometimes they even have live performances by some great local bands.Coopers also participates in being a starting point or a stop location for many of the benefit rides in the area. So please, navigate the construction and stop in for a drink.Parking: Gravel parking. Just slow down and watch for parked bikes as you come in.“

Deuces Saloon Bar • $
2101 E Elm St, Goldsboro - 8.87 miles

“Deuces is a great place to come out and have a good time. This building has been around for years and has gone through a couple owners. The crowd is very dependent on the time of day. But everyone is very friendly. Glen doesn't not allow drama and invites everyone. Two dartboards and a 7' coin op pool table. Bar seating and patio seating with heat in the winter.Pay attention to their Facebook page as they often have local and regional bands. Another great location as it is another common starting point for benefit rides.Come on out enjoy a cold one, and meet new people.Parking: Gravel parking. Also our flow parking in the grassy area. Decent markings to ensure you know where to go.“
