The grilled pork chops, baked turkey wings, rice, cabbage, green beans, macaroni and cheese, cornbread, cakes, tea and lemonade were all very good. Try it, you won’t be disappointed! The food was so good, we started eating and I had forgotten to take the pictures first. 😂”

“Stopped Into this little diner for a quick lunch with my daughter. The place is small but does have some Seating inside. The menu is pretty extensive and way more options available than I initially thought there would be. I do have to say that the food here is amazing! It was made to order while we waited ( we took our order to go since I was running errands). The price of the food was excellent and the quality great . I would highly recommend this place for a filling delicious meal.”

“I haven’t been to my hometown in nearly 40 years. Today I was going to pass Tarboro on my way to Maryland and I just couldn’t resist the urge to take the 64 exit. I wanted to connect with locals and ask them about how the town of Tarboro is doing in general. My travels have taken me all over the US, but I often think about where I was born and my early years there. I picked up lunch to go just down the street, but wandered down Main and found a lovely surprise in Tarboro Coffee House. It’s a long drive from Wilmington to Maryland on little sleep, and I could tell by the beautiful appearance of the shop that this was going to be a great cup of coffee. Every detail of the appearance of the shop is so spectacular! The impeccable design of the logo, the colors, the eclectic elements like the antique record player (a Victrola perhaps?) that caught my eye in the window drew me in. Maybe it’s the painter in me, but I set a lot of store in aesthetics, and that kind of attention to detail bespeaks a passion that I believe translates into a truly flawless product. I have found this to be particularly true of small businesses whose drive and motivation comes from a deep love of what they do, and the people they serve. The effort put into the storefront, (and the inside) raised my expectations and I was not disappointed. I was greeted by a friendly barista named Haley who set about making me feel welcomed immediately. I asked her for a recommendation for a sweet espresso drink and she suggested the special. I wish I could remember what it was called, but it was a white mocha with some extra ingredients, and she impressed me with the wide selection of milk choices. It’s reassuring to know I don’t have to sacrifice my gut health for a beverage there. Man that has got to be the best drink I’ve ever tasted!!! It was delicious, and not overly sweet or too rich. The drink stayed consistent until the last sip. There was no syrup or chocolate lining the bottom of the cup. She really knew how to make a good cup of coffee! I was really blessed to catch Haley, (not sure how she spells her name, I’m sorry!) in the afternoon because we had time to converse about the current state of the town. It was so nice to talk to someone who was also born there and who grew up there. I’ve been so curious about Tarboro since my family moved away in 1986. What a beautiful experience, service, gathering place you all have created here. I really can’t thank you enough for giving me the chance to not only have a great cup of coffee, but to reconnect with my hometown, and to meet one her best and brightest in Haley. She has a very good head on her shoulders, and her kindness towards me is so appreciated. I know how hard it is to run a small business especially in food service, and how much it hurts your heart when people don’t see the hard work that goes into it. They white-glove and overly scrutinize family-owned business while giving endless chances to major corporations that compromise on the quality and safety of their products and services. Well I want you to know you are seen, appreciated and admired. Please don’t ever give up this beautiful dream you’ve realized. You’re doing something so wonderful. Well done!”

Edgecombe County is where you will find this place in the plaza where the movie theater is located. The owner was a delight to talk with just describing his love of cooking more healthy. “This place is way overpriced for its quality of food. Though my service was great; my potato was under done. The scallops were over cooked and gritty. The steak was the best of the worst on the plate but you have to season yourself. The cook that brought out the food was very nice.”

“Just had dinner here and let me tell you we are difficult to impress since we eat Mexican daily but everything was amazing! Great portions, taste, and homemade tortillas. I ordered a sope de asada. My son an ACP off the kids menu. My husband and mother-in-law a mojarra frita iykyk. My father in law had the Texas fajitas and he cleared the plate! Thank you to the whole staff. “This is my first time trying the small Cafe. I got a cheese biscuit with bacon. The cheese biscuit was full of cheese and the bacon was so crispy. I had that with a sweet tea and I enjoyed it. The only thing was that the restaurant was alittle cold but other than that it was great. The staff were very friendly and answered all my questions.”

“BEST LOCATION I'VE VISITED IN A LOOONNNNNG TIME. I was visiting from Greenville NC-& every last location in Greenville & Winterville SUCKS!!!!! Everyone at this location was nice, the slushy I ordered was top-tier. I ordered the same slushy or freeze from the newest location in Greenville on Firetower Rd.... & I don't understand how one can screw up a slushy!! Even the hospitality was awful. In Tarboro-I received nice service with a touch of Southern hospitality!! In Greenville-you can forget it (sidenote-some may say it's because Greenville is a little 'bigger' or because its a city... To those people I'd like to say-find another reason because in MANY places in Raleigh-the customer service, Southern hospitality or just plain ole common courtesy is ALWAYS GOOD). Anyway...... I had a GREAT experience during my very short visit here. Thank you❤️”

“Abrams of Pinetops is no longer the quality restaurant they use to be. Went there at 4:15pm to get 12 pcs of chicken. Everything on the display was old and they couldn’t fill my order. I told them never mind I don’t want to wait and I hear a smart mouth from the back say that’s the kind of orders I like. I used to go there four times a week. I won’t make that mistake again.”

“I ordered a plate 2 scramble eggs with cheese, grits, home fries and country ham to go. Got home I had patty sausage instead of country ham so I drive all the way back up there give them my plate and explain I got patty sausage instead of country ham. they give me my plate back and give me country hame in a little bowl in a bunch of broken up pieces. Besides all my other food is cold grits cold and hard couldn't get butter to melt in it. Eggs cold and home fries cold. They should have thrown this plate in the trash and remade the order.”
