“I wonder if they are aware that not everyone wants chicken tinga. I guess not! Other than that, there's still a bit of variety that I can choose from. My acid reflux and my hernia will not let me have things like chicken tinga or any amount of peppers or jalapeños. I always feels like I accidentally poison myself.“

Pelican's Snoballs of Sanford Ice Cream Shop • $
1102 S Horner Blvd, Sanford

“Stopped here for the first time with my kids . the prices are fair and I love that they have stuff to do outside , I was just a little scared with the activities being right next to the road . My kids know better not to run to the road but you never know lol . The benches are a little wonky but it did the trick for the little time we were there .. talking to the young girl she was nice an patient with me which I appreciate because I thought we were ready but I then seen all the flavors lol .. it also smelt really clean when she opened the window so that a plus we will most likely be back..“

Schooly's Bar & Billiards Bar • $
102 W Trade St, Sanford

“I go to a lot of pool halls. This is one of the best kept up and cleanest places I've ever seen. So clean, it's almost absurd. One caveat is that they do allow smoking, so that will be a positive or negative thing depending on your stance. You will end up smelling like smoke, so keep that in mind. They have 4 pay per hour tables and 1 per play table, which are always decently re-felted. They have some games places throughout the bar.I haven’t been here during a music/dance event but they do have the perfect set up for it. They have a fantastic dance floor, dj set up, and additional bar area. They also decorate the place regularly so it looks fun and nice. The blonde lady who is always bartending and keeping up the place is fantastic.Cash only with ATM inside. Free parking in parking lot.Great local pool spot that’s open super late.“

James Creek Cider House Cideries • $$
172 US-1, Cameron

“I stopped by to try their cider because I'm a fan of them. I read other reviews that it was a place you have to go to, so I did. It had a good atmosphere and a nicely decorated interior. The cider wasn't much to my taste, but I only tried one of them. The warm ciders smelled good! It was very quiet on a Friday night, and it looked like it had games outside to play (corn hole). It was a fairly calm, local watering hole. The cider was under $10 with a tip. They serve charcuterie board items to pair with the cider and a couple of options for sweets.Kid-friendliness: There was a family playing dominos while I was there.“

Mermaid Point Seafood • $
River Point Rd, Moncure

“Must be reached from north of the point. Go down a long gravel road, come to a gate with no trespassing signs. Go about 300yds through a trail, brush and some mud untill you reach the point. The trail is navigable in April but probably bug invested in summer. It was incredible to see the birth of the Cape Fear River. It's a nice bike ride through the country side.“
