I intended to write a review of this establishment a couple weeks ago but it slipped my mind. Yesterday my wife and I were traveling through Statesville, NC at meal time so we went back to this excellent restaurant. Both time we ate there, we were served by Crystal. She was very efficient, articulate, provided good recommendations, and always seemed to be there just when we needed sometime. Over the course of two separate visits we tried the ribeye, blacked meatloaf sandwich, and the Millionaire Meatloaf. All were excellent, and the ribeyes were cooked exactly as we had requested. I would not say that our meals were inexpensive, but both times the check totals were very reasonable. The restaurant is in a nice location, will parking available. The ambiance and decor is very nice, but not overly fancy. The bar and wine area is nicely kept and impressive. The facility is very clean and has nice clean restrooms. There are several party rooms available and these were in the process of hosting groups for events both times we were there. We live an hour from Statesville but I am sure we will eat there more than occasionally in the future.

Starving when I arrived! The hostess asked me if I wanted to eat on the patio, at the bar, or at a table; told her whatever got me fed fastest! She laughed and set me at a table in the bar. The bartender suggested the ribeye sandwich and I'm glad I listened to him. The sandwich was delicious, 8 oz ribeye, candied bacon (I think) on a soft bun. There were other toppings on the sandwich, but it was so good that I really ate too quickly to remember what they were. The sandwich did come with a side of fries, almost like wedges. The fries were almost curly with a crispy outside and a soft steamy inside. Very tasty! Thanks Twisted Oak for saving me from starvation with such delicious food!

A very enjoyable meal, ambiance was good, parking available, service was excellent. I enjoyed reading their alcohol menu with so many different choices. The food was delicious, presented very well and filled us both. Thanks for being on Yelp.

Was advised that this place was good and the place to go eat. Could not decide between the meatloaf or pork chop and the waiter advised the pork chop. After ordering it took almost an hour to get my food. Waiter all but ignored me after placing my order. The food finally came out and looked awesome but once I cut into it and tasted the pork chop liked any flavor and was very dry and tough. The carrots and mashed potatoes however where good. I think I would give them another chance if ever in Statesville again, but I would get the meatloaf I think.

I had the pork chop. Very good. The sides were carrots and mashed potatoes. Both sides were great as well. The carrots were roasted with herbs. My wife had a chicken dish over pasta that she said was very good as well. They have a HUGE bourbon selection. We loved it all!

We are so pleased we found the Twisted Oak. They have the best Gluten Free Hambrger bun on a delicious steak ground hamburger. The best curly fries ever. My husband likes the Shrimp and Grits. The waitress are delightful and the food arrives hot and quickly. We stopped in last week and split soup that was fabulous.

We had stopped for the night on our way back to GA from Northwest VA. We went to the Twisted Oak after browsing through Google. Twisted Oak is located in a large, older building in Statesville NC. Interior and exterior is brick. Very high ceilings, a very airy and spacious atmosphere. The service was excellent and our server was very knowledgeable about the menu items. My wife asked her about the Short rib beef dinner and she recommended it as one of the favorites on the menu. I ordered Chicken covered in Asagio (sp?) mushroom rissato(sp?). My wife received a large plate of almost fat free beef with french fries. I tasted the short ribs and they were very tasty . My chicken breast was tender and withe the mushroom sauce very tasty as were my Garlic Mashed potatoes. For dessert I ordered the Chocolate Cake which was at least 6 " tall and about 6" wide and delicious. My wife ordered the Crème Burlle which she said was probably the best she had ever had. I would highly recommend the Twisted Oak. It is in the little bit higher price range, but it is worth it.

Read about this place set in Downtown Statesville. Cool spot. Initial service was solid. Ordered the shrimp and grits as it is their specialty. Great presentation. Good sauce could have used some more heat but finished it before the bartender came back to check. Great bourbon menu and priced right. I will try it again when I am in town.

This restaurant was right up my alley! Great design with hardwood floors and wooden exposed beams. Great list of beer, wine and liquor! The food was superb! I had the meatloaf which was the best I've ever had and the hubby had the tallest burger I'd ever seen. Wish there were more restaurants like this!
