“Humphreys Ridge is a small private campground, with a boat dock for the Belews Lake, and a small grill for a quick bite. This is a small mini community with most trailers permanently parked and setup, rented yearly. So far they have made me feel welcome. The grill is all 1970's and reminds me of places from years gone by when things were much more simple. The menu is hot dogs, hamburgers, and simple sandwiches. They have some ice cream to cool down on a hot day. The service was friendly enough. Everything is cooked to order. It was ok, nothing wrong with it. If you are here on the lake, and want to just pull your boat up to one of the docks and grab a bite. There aren't many options for that here so it is very convenient. All in all I would recommend this place. Especially if you are on the lake and want something to eat!!”

“Literally the best ice cream I've ever had. The first waffle cone I got was chocolate moose tracks and bourbon brown butter. It was so good I had to go back the next day and get another cone. This time it was key lime pie and mint moose tracks. Key lime pie was probably my favorite. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!”

“My wife and I ate here during our time house sitting for my in laws. We went on a whim and were very pleasantly surprised. It became our favorite place to eat in the area. We loved everything we had. We also liked that the food is fresh and sourced locally. The fish and grits were amazing. The grits were creamy and decadent, and the fish was fried to perfection. My wife is a crab dip connoisseur. She can be serious about it. She loved it. The oysters were fresh and tasty and the shrimp was amazing. The desert was also delicious. We liked it so much, we ordered to go the next day. The service was also great. We chatted with our server and she made recommendations. She was friendly and helpful. We also chatted with regulars, who gave recommendations and high reviews. If you have not been, I highly recommend going asap.”

“Stopped by for lunch today, first time in. You can feel the authenticity as soon as you walk in. Not only are you greeted with excitement from the friendly staff, but you can smell the amazing Italian aromas from the hanging meats, cheeses, fresh sandwiches, plates and sides. After you peruse the market, you can tell there are a plethora of hard to find imported items you cannot get anywhere else nearby.The fresh mozzarella displayed looks amazing! It was a quick lunch so we didn’t pick it up to try, but that’s on our list next time we’re in. We shared 2 sandwiches and were hoping to eat it right then and there, but there was no seating inside or out. I know it’s a market and many people don’t mind, but for me personally, I like to have any type of sandwich, whether hot or cold, completely fresh as soon as it’s made. We live 20 minutes away so the true freshness may have been muted by the time we got to enjoy the tasty sandwiches.We shared a #4 Bruscino and a #15 Chicken Parm. The Bruscino was fantastic! It had fresh hot sopressata, hot capacolla, provolone, LTO, cherry peppers and the best house oil and vinegar. The Italian bread was fresh with that little crunch you want on the outside and a soft center. Meats and cheese were truly fresh and authentic. Oil and vinegar were outstanding. I could have used more of it. It did get soaked into the bread a bit, but that was only due to the 20min drive home before we could eat it. Fresh, this would have been a knockout sandwich. The chicken parm was great as well, chicken tender and moist. A little more cheese would have been great to give it that gooey texture as you take a bite. The sauce was great, but again some it was soaked into the bread due to the wait.I think next time we will eat our sandwiches in the car or find a place nearby to sit so we can enjoy them as fresh as possible. Just a couple tables somewhere inside or out would really benefit anyone who wants a completely fresh sandwich as soon as it’s made. Regardless, the quality of ingredients and the beautifully displayed meats, cheeses, sides and appetizers are out of this world. You can buy sauces, pastas, premade dinners, the list goes on and on. If you want truly fresh and authentic Italian, whether to eat right away or cook yourself at home, you don’t want to miss out on this place.”

“We tried this place for the first time this weekend after hearing a lot of good things, and we were absolutely not disappointed! Despite being very busy, the restaurant had a nice, chill vibe to it. Our server was very friendly, quick with anything we needed, and our drinks stayed full. She recommended a boneless wing sauce to my husband that turned out to make for the best boneless wings we've ever had (and his standards for those are sky high). The chicken was fresh, tender, and the bourbon molasses sauce was absolutely delicious. The fried pickles as an app were good - the batter would have benefitted from a little more seasoning, and overall a little more flavor would have made them perfect, but overall enjoyable! I got a grilled chicken club, which I really enjoyed. The croissant was fluffy and soft, and the grilled chicken itself was perfectly cooked. The fries were awesome - well seasoned, perfectly cooked, and crispy. Every plate that went by us to another table looked phenomenal too...next time, I'm definitely interested in trying a flat bread and the salad bar!”

“I've been in before only to look around and pick up some charcuterie to go as gifts (BIG hits by the way!). I finally went in today so that I could sit down and enjoy the food myself. I was sat down right away, and my server was super friendly. The "Pesty Chicken" pizza was absolutely delicious as was the Reisling that I had with it. The atmosphere is beautiful, especially by the beautiful windows. While waiting for my food, I opened up a book and read in peace with some great music in the background. Can't wait to go back.”

“BEST POKE BOWL ever!!!! I can not express that enough. I have had plenty of poke bowls as well as my fair share of sushi. The tuna and salmon were fresh and all the ingredients were perfect. Ordering online was a breeze. I got the medium bowl but the helpings are huge. Whenever i come to greensboro and i am in the mood for sushi, this will be where i go!! They are not opened on Tuesday, which i found out while in Greensboro, and was sad but i will make my appointments for any day but Tuesdays from now on. That is how good this place is!”

“Every time I go to Local Roots I always ask them to surprise me with a coffee of their choice. Doesn’t matter if it’s hot, cold, what flavors, etc. and they BLOW IT OUT OF THE PARK! Moved to Winston a little over a year ago, this is by far the best coffee place I’ve been to. The atmosphere is welcoming and the workers are a joy to be around and interact with. We came in at 1:30, they close at 2, and they let us sit there till at least 2:30 still serving us. They were super kind and made it a good experience!”

“I was blown away by the burgers and milkshakes. I haven't tasted anything like that in years. I ordered something close to what I normally eat and I don't know what they do with the grill but the meat had the best taste ever and was crispy and juicy. Not thick but definitely not smash burgers. And I almost hate to say this, but the cookie butter milkshake was worth the $8. I'm sold and coming back for seconds.”
