“What an amazing place and amazing staff I’m a tractor trailer driver from PA passing through after I picked up a load of beautiful local Christmas trees I googled local bbq places and this popped up immediately and I just knew it was gonna be exactly what I was wanting an official real bbq spot and I tell u on everything I love in this world my expectations were blown out of this realm I could literally taste the love and passion they put into their bbq!! The best rack of ribs I’ve ever eaten fried chicken was excellent also I had Mac n cheese beans and hush puppies which I was educated on today that they are actually corn bread which I loved and topped it all off with a slice of lemon meringue and a sweet tea thank you owners and staff for showing me what real bbq is. God bless and I will see u again for sure I highly recommend this spot high level bbq“

I no longer drink, so I cannot comment on the margaritas but I can attest that the food quality and flavor has improved. I ordered a steak soft taco supreme tonight and the flavors were so good - so savory and the tortilla was perfect. Very large portion for a taco and it was very filling. Service was great. I'm convinced that they have the BEST Mr. Pibb and my cup never got more than half empty thanks to my great server.Original review (2022; 3 stars) - We've been to Monte D Rey twice now. The first time wasn't great so we gave it another go recently, months after our first visit. Second visit was no better than the first.The service is decent but the food and drinks leave much to be desired. The rice was stale both times. Our alcoholic beverages tasted so bad that we had to mix them with soda to make them drinkable. My quesadilla was filled with the tiniest sprinkle of cheese and my partner's burrito was filled with mostly lettuce.“

“The best seafood place in Ashe County. We went today after church. I ordered flounder fillet with french fries,slaw and hush puppies and it was enough to feed two. Fast service and food was fresh and delicious. Can't ask for any better than “
