“I was a little skeptical at first as this is a difficult part of NH to make a go of a smaller/independent, quality restaurant - however that is just what Heartwood is doing. They are truly invested in delivering a positive dining experience at a reasonable price. The menu is limited, but that's ok with us because the limit allows them to focus and do it correctly. The food was presented well, came out timely and was actually flavorful without being overly sauced or buried/lacking in spices. I felt like Goldilocks finally finding "just right". The restaurant is not large, but it is clean, well decorated, the paint choices are lovely, the mural is a nice reminder of the area's past and the old vibe to the place is charming instead of rundown, as it should be. The fireplace was going when we were there as we were finally having a cold February day, which was a very welcome ambience boost, as a natural fire always is. I think Omer and his staff at Heartwood have a good thing going- especially for the middle of winter during a traditionally non-tourist time of year, they were still busy and now I can see why. If you haven't tried them out yet, don't hesitate - it's worth it.“

“Let me tell you EVERYTHING was perfect! Our server Morgan made a killer cocktail and had a refreshing personality. Every single bite from appetizers - mains was absolutely superb! The scallops were cooked a perfect medium rare absolutely melt in your mouth, hands down the best I’ve ever had at an establishment. I left very full and very very happy! Absolutely cannot wait to return and am recommending to everyone.“

“10 out of 10! Fantastic craft beers, creative and delicious comfort foods, cozy ambiance, and fabulous service! We are former Dover dwellers and C&M is one more reason to keep coming back to our favorite NH city! We loved the chicken nuggets, Rueben croquettes, fish & chips, pork sandwich, and tomato soup. Stomp Box was the beer of choice and we liked it so much, we took cans to go. Perfect hazy IPA! (We live 3 miles from a Tree House brewery so this is saying a lot!)“

“Late Post: I always enjoy a unique and fun dinning experience and found this restaurant when I visited NH in early March. I tried a few unique dining experiences in the past and this was one of the memorable dinning experiences I had. Each meal is very creative and deliciously crafted. The dinning room (kitchen) with 6 guest seating. It’s truly fun watching the chef cooking. It feels more like you having a private chef in your house.First, when you come into the restaurant (but it doesn’t feel like a restaurant in a good way) you sit in “the living room”with other guests and enjoy a drink and appetizers, then, when the dinner is ready you finally walk into the chef’s kitchen. At the end of the course meal they provided each guest a giveaway bag. There were the tonight’s menu, honey and chocolate truffles in the bag. The chocolate truffles were amazing as well.I only wish chef had a little more time for interaction with us after dinner. He was already preparing meals for next guests while we were still sitting at the table.Overall, I highly recommend if you look for a unique and amazing dinning experience in NH.“

“Drove by this place and decided to circle back and give it a try for the first time. Walked in to place and order to go and was greeted by Maraina working the bar who offered me true insight into the menu, giving me the low down on what dishes were what and her recommendations. After ordering the food she offered me a drink and continued with please conversation to keep me company. The food ended up being slamming. The linguica fries were frieds cooked in animal fat not vegetable oil and hadnplenty of meat piled on. The piggy grits was mt wife's favorite of the order, while I enjoyed the pig pile. Our order included 2 types of cornbread muffins with this crazy delicious butter. Surprisingly the side of beans was the highlight of it all. I mean everything tasted great but the beans were so damn good. I will certainly coming back to dine in as the atmosphere is great, the drink selection compliments the food and the staff are wonderful. Go see Maraina and give this place a try. Well worth the money and a trip from out of town.Kid-friendliness: Despite there being a bar in the dining area, I was there on a saturday night and the place was relaxed, kids were eating their food and relaxing music was soft playing in the background as folks chatted it up.“

“We had a fantastic dinner. An extra bonus was watching the chefs cook, they were like an orchestra so coordinated. The sitting had 26 diners. The menu changes every week. We had bean soup, a choice of smoked salmon salad w potato or polenta with pork ragu, chicken with spinach or cod with carrots, beef with potato and red cabbage or pork and lentils, toffee pudding or funnel cake ( fried dough). Everything was delicious, there was not a single dish that we did not love. Service was attentive and friendly. We will be back!“

“Decided on a date night with my husband and as usual, Diverge didn’t disappoint!!! I’ve never had a bad meal here and usually recommend it as one of my favorites in Dover. I had the salmon and risotto, which were cooked to perfection! The salmon was slammin! The dessert was decadent!Nick was an outstanding server and the hospitality was off the hook!!!“

“Sawbelly burger, get it!! It's as good as any burger at Tuckaway. In fact it is a Tuckaway burger! Great brewery with delicious food. Not all beers are great but you can sample them and find something suitable. Beer flights are $13 and the pours are generous.I love the ambiance and the coziness of the booths against the wall. They often have live music which, most recently, was quite awful. Fortunately, the volume was low enough on the restaurant side to make it bearable.I love the service and, in summer, they have a huge outdoor seating area that is dog friendly.“

“I finally had the chance to go to The Riverworks since the new owners and I'm so glad I did! I was greeted with a smile and sat with a friend at a great little table for two. We both had a strong and tasty drink and a beer with the absolutely delicious beer-battered chicken tenders and a charcuterie board. It's a really cozy, intimate place to hang out and I would go back in a heartbeat!“

“We came over here for breakfast since it was the closest restaurant to our inn. My eastern omelette was great (veggies inside were perfectly done), as were the hash browns. My wife liked having baked beans as an option with her eggs. Coffee was very good and nicely replenished. Service was good and friendly.Karen and Julio were a great team and really take care of their customers.Call this one a hidden gem!“

“I received what was quite possible the warmest welcome in the history of Durham, NH when I stumbled upon here on a very rainy day moments before closing. The "thumbs" (the better version of chicken fingers) and fries were scrumptious and just what I needed. Franz helped me feel right at home and very welcome for my first time in NH. Furthermore, this place is adorable, and you can get some laundry done!“

“Such a cute, off-the-beaten-path type of place. Walking in feels like a family welcoming you into their home. Bonus if you get to sit near their old-timey stove by the door. So glad I was able to go while visiting the area for a few days! Had the apple fritters (pictured)“
“I'm American Chinese, living in Germany now. I have to say, the place is intimidating at first, but the bartenders are super friendly and open. I love the atmosphere and overall experience. Great place for drinks. Was there during the Christmas break 2023.“
“We had a fabulous birthday dinner for my husband. The tavern and history is so charming and every meals was delicious. Half of us ordered the restaurant week special scallop scampi and the lobster bisque and the Potato crusted haddock was great. Portion sizes and presentation was perfect. Service attentive. Would definitely recommend.“

“FURY's Public House: creates and gently cooks my favorite burger: BLUE CHEESE! I LOVE BLUE CHEESE. MAYTAG BLUE, ROQUEFORT, DANISH BLUE, SWEDISH BLUE, WISCONSIN BLUE, CASHEL BLUE, FRENCH BLUES, ALL OF THEM. ENGLISH STILTON. Have any of my readers out there ever enjoyed MAYTAG BLUE? This particular blue cheese is like eating silk - the fabric. Creamy, non-salty, not dry. But soft and lovely. So, easy to use. Very expensive, but so worth it. MAYTAG BLUE is hard to come by in New England, but oh my gosh. So, the Blue Cheese that Fury's used on my burger was NOT Maytag Blue, however the Blue they used was delightful. My burger was cooked to order. Not dry and overdone or RAW! But, just perfect, this is hard to come by these days! And then, they added the blue cheese. oh my goodness. So wonderful. They serve alcohol as well.“

“We took my mother in law here for her 91st birthday and the wait staff and food were wonderful! We did not feel rushed in any way, and our food came out within a reasonable time and everyone enjoyed whatever dish they had ordered. Although I did not order the French Onion Soup, a few in our party did, and it looked delicious! Highly recommend!“

“Had the Reuben on rye, french onion soup, jalapeno poppers, chicken Parmesan bites. Chicken Parmesan bites were good, basically Italian bread crumbs coated bite size chicken pieces with Parmesan cheese sprinkled on them and Marina for dipping(a little more Parmesan cheese would've made them perfect). French onion soup was very strong and flavorful but it was a good flavor and well made. The Reuben on rye was perfect! The jalapeno poppers were basically what you expect with cream cheese filling. Overall very good meal. Wonderful waitress was fast, attentive and timed her table visits perfectly. Food was quick from the kitchen. Atmosphere was casual and friendly. My friends had diet Cokes with their meals and said they seamed a bit watery. We all agree we'd be going again.Parking: Plenty of flat, door adjacent parkingWheelchair accessibility: Flat parking lot with minimal door jamb interference but might not fit anything wider than standard. Plenty of seating options to move chairs and get right up to the table. Judging by the hospitality I'd be willing to bet they'd help in any way they could.“

“We just went for drinks, but heard breakfast is amazing so asked to look at that menu and WOW IT LOOKS SO GOOD.Everything on the dinner menu looked awesome too and we will definitely be going back to eat. I'm always looking for good breakfast spots so I'm super psyched this is close by!Atmosphere was chill, good music and low lighting when we were there around 630.Service was friendly and quick.Beware there is a flight of stairs to get in from the street in case u have a stroller or old person with you!Update: went back for dinner and first of all the wine pours are impressive.Second, the food was great. The menu is not straightforward fare in a good way. Kind of an American spin on Mexican? Went with a couple girl friends we shared the nachos and I got tacos. All was yummy and I would go back!“
“Excellent venue for small intimate music concerts. The venue is divided into two floors allowing to separate shows to happen at the same time. The upstairs space is filled with comfy lazy boy chairs and sectional sofas. Yet there is still lots of room to roam the floor to meet people. Local patrons are warm and welcoming,Very clean restrooms.Bar and wait staff all super nice, Drinks are reasonably priced but the food menu is very limited, aka there's nothing substantial enough for dinner.Dress is super casual.Parking is limited. If we lived closer we would become regulars.“
“Magnificent view from this restaurant - you can see Parker Mountain, Sanders Ledge, Blue Job, and even(I think) Rochester Hill. We had burgers for a early dinner(late lunch?), and they were excellent.Beer selection was great, the food was great, and the servers were attentive. Everything was top notch. We'll be going here again in the future. The south side of the restaurant has a gentle ramp to the front door - it should be handicapped accessible.“

“Great biscuits n gravy. Excellent portion. I asked for scrambled soft, on point. Really I'd give them a four and a half. But not available. Coffee really weak. Almost like mistakenly ran water through the same coffee grounds twice. I'll see next time.“
