Tostones

“Love my soul food, and it is hard to find a 5 star place. Service could be better, as it is inconsistent, some wait staff go over and beyond while others do the disappearing act. Ordering online can be also frustrating. It is a good spot for a quick bite but not to linger, as the ambiance is cafeteria style. Food is generally good, they do the best tostones and mondongo! Don't forget dessert, tres leches or Dominican cake.“

“Great chicken stew excellent goat stew. The rice & beans are always tasty. Would be 5 stars if consistent. Sometimes the chicken is a little tough. Sometimes it has delicious olives other times it doesn’t. And very often the goat stew is so filled with gristle and huge bones that one has to hunt for the edible meat.“

“As we came in, the door was heavy to open and it had one step to enter in which it could be tricky when you have two strollers to enter in the door.As we walked in, we were greeted and the decorations was beautiful. It shows many cultures of painted people in the chairs and tables. The atmosphere was warm and their was menu in the table. We looked at the menu and you order in the counter. The employee will serve your food when it is ready. The small cheese pizza was delicious not too saucy and cheesy. It feeds 4 people (my husband and I and our two small children). We also enjoy the chicken and beef ? empanadas/empanadillas. It tastes great with salsa Verde and mayo&ketchup. We asked for the check and the employee will put 15 percent service fee in your bill so if you like you can add another tip. We will be coming back again.Kid-friendliness: The employees understood that children make messes and didn't make a scene when my children keep dropping their sippy cups and leaving puddles of water. (which my husband and I clean up right away when it happened).“
