“I know my way around Edison, and this is some of the best chaat and Kati rolls I’ve had. Really hit the spot. The presentation is gorgeous as well; the restaurant goes for a cute kitsch factor that is really charming. Kalyan made some excellent recommendations so we ended up ordering way too much food, but will have leftovers for lunch the next few days ;)“

“Went here with a group of 5 for the first time as we were craving Gujarati/kathiyawadi food and it did not disappoint. The service is excellent and the food tastes amazing. They offer three types of unlimited thalis - Gujarati, kathiyawadi and Punjabi. Have the Gujrati of you are craving your dishes to be a little on the sweet side like me and the kathiyawadi if not. I would not suggest the Punjabi thali as this is a Gujrati place and that is their forte.Vegetarian options: This is a fully vegetarian restaurant.Parking: This is in a strip mall with a free parking lotKid-friendliness: Indian restaurants are always kid friendly.“

“Had pomfret fry thali and veg kolhapuri. The thali was quite filling and the fish was fresh. Tasted a lot like homemade fish fry but the spice flavors coating the fry fish weren’t very strong. Veg kolhapuri was decent. Will probably be back some day to try the bombil fry. Overall a good experince!“

“Had a chance to go for iftar buffet , food wise this is one of the best buffet I had in Edison. Only flaw was the way they set it up. You have to share table with Unkown people. Unfortunately we had a couple who were fighting on our table and me and my wife were in an awkward spot. Apart from that it was good experience.“

“Quality of Dosas and Idlis is good. However, masala was not properly cooked in Dosa and Sambhar had less salt than usual.Filter coffee and chai are good as well but can be better for sure. The dish that we liked best is Bhajji, definitely a must try for anyone new to this place. Also, the place is big enough to accommodate large groups of 6, 8, or even 10 people at once“

“Really great restaurant with an awesome variety of 100% Vegetarian Thalis. I highly recommend their Kesar Special Thali along with their Papdi Chaat Thali! They let you share plates and honestly 1 thali with saabzis would suffice 2 people, you may just have to order another separate Naan. Their special saabzi of the day was amazing, the rest of the saabzis varied from 'generic to alright'. Surprisingly, their ambiance is very upscale for a restaurant that is known for their Thalis. Highly recommend bringing the whole family and the service was super quick!“

“? Celebrating the 26th Aftar at Tabaq Restaurant, NJ ?After a long break, I revisited Tabaq for Aftar and was pleasantly surprised! It was an exceptional experience, nearly the best Aftar I've had. The reservation process was seamless, even for a Friday evening.I usually skip naan and gravies on buffets, preferring protein-rich options like BBQ. However, Tabaq's Chicken Karahi and Mutton Qorma stole the show, making them buffet must-haves. The service was impeccable.Apologies for the low-quality photos – they were taken post-Aftar in a rush.? Price: ~$28 per person (Note: Total came to about $33 per head with tip and service charges included)? Ambiance: 7/10? Service: 8/10? Drinks: A variety beyond the usual Pepsi/Coke, included? Lemonade/Rooh Afza: 8/10? Chicken Karahi: 10/10? Mutton Qorma: 8/10? Dessert (Kheer & Gulab Jaman): 8/10? BBQ: 8/10? Chicken Broccoli & Fried Rice: 6/10? “Favorite spot for authentic South Indian food, the service is fantastic just like the food here. My favorite is bisibhelebhat, ghee rava roast dosa and the kesari, itnever disappoints. This time I ordered the thali and some veggies gave a homely feel. The thali comes with 3 veggies, 1 sambhar, 1 rasam, dessert of the day was kesari. We also had Onion Chilli Uttappam which was tasty too. I always like the 3 chutneys thats their signature.“
