“I recently had the pleasure of dining at this cozy Korean spot, and I was immediately struck by its vibrant atmosphere. Despite being busy and crowded, it contributed positively to the overall experience, creating an energetic and authentic vibe. The restaurant boasts a compact menu, a refreshing change that made choosing what to eat a breeze, without the usual decision fatigue. A standout dish for me was the lotus salad – unfortunately, I didn’t snap a picture, but believe me, it’s a must-try. The salad was delightfully crispy, featuring a medley of flavors that danced on the palate. On the flip side, the pork cheek, while tantalizing in photos, fell short of expectations. It had a gamy taste that was off-putting, and the flavors, far from being bold, were disappointingly muted. The broth, however, was a high point. The beef broth was rich and flavorful, a real treat. We also tried the seafood baguette, which was a mixed bag. The bread, unfortunately, was not toasted, leaning towards the stale side, but the seafood filling itself was delicious.Dessert was another highlight – the sweet corn crème brûlée. It was an inventive take on a classic dessert, perfectly paired with white chocolate, making for a memorable end to our meal.Overall, this restaurant is a fantastic find. Despite a few hiccups, the quality of the dishes and the unique dining experience make it a place worth visiting.“
“Korean food at it’s best.Fried rice with steak was top, endives salad with Korean pears and nuts was just amazing. The chicken wings is a must if you happen to go!!Service amazing, fast and attentive at all times.Looking forward to go back and try the famous Pork Shank!!“
“Been here 4 times. I declare take 31 to be the top one on my list of Korean food in New York! The creamy udon pasta is super delicious and is my favorite dish. The creamy sauce is very rich and you won’t get tired of it even if you eat the whole plate. We have tried all three kinds of rice balls, and our favorite is the tuna fish rice ball. The 5 big pieces are full of sincerity and are so satisfying when paired with refreshing kimchi; the honey fried chicken has a sweet coating, and the mustard sauce it comes with is even more remarkable, retaining the mustard flavor without being spicy; the yogurt-flavored Rice wine has more flavor than banana flavor! It’s especially cool; the pork neck meat will be a little fatty; the corn tortillas have caramel adhering to the corn kernels, which are sweet and crispy, especially delicious! !“
“It was a day from hell and I took my daughter with me to happy hour for dinner. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. Our waiter was one of the kindest people I've met and the whole staff was amazing. The food was delicious and the drink specials were more than fair!! Everything was top notch and the vibe was fun and relaxing. I recommend this place 100%!! I can't wait to go back and try brunch there. We checked out the menu and it looks amazing!!“
“Food, drinks, and service were incredible! My husband and I stumbled on this place on a date night in NYC, and it was absolutely perfect for a date night! The only thing is the restaurant is tiny tiny so don't think about having a large dinner party, but for a more intimate dinner or lunch, I would highly recommend it! The burrata was our absolute favorite dish! 10/10 recommend!“
“Bricolage was excellent. The food totally lived up to the hype. Every dish was packed with flavor, from the delicious summer rolls to the surprisingly flavorful charred eggplant salad. And the spicy garlic noodles were a fantastic main, blending a unique combination of sour, sweet, and savory into a delicious meal. The menu is a bit on the pricey side, but you definitely get your money's worth in terms of quality dishes. I'll be coming back for sure!“
“Amazing place, combining Korean and NYC cuisine. We stayed in a hotel close by and found the place on our Google research.Reservation migjt be a good idea for next time. But even without we came at the right time and could stay for an amazing dinner. The burger is one of the best (would put it in my top 3) we had anywhere. The chopped cheese Korean rice cakes are a must and make you smile, so good are they.Great cocktails and amazing service from everyone. Will be back!“
“It was a brisk day and we were offered outside- which we took rather than wait. I am not sure I would have been comfortable with all of the taxidermy. Sort of creepy- vegetarians, beware. Our server was the right amount of attention.Food- tasty- squash toast. Fun sort of asian? Flavor- maybe too much mint [I had to remove half of it- there was a LOT]. Side of bacon to share$35 each- coffee, squash toast, 1/2 bacon. COST- NYC PRICES.Coffee- sour- didn't finish even half....booooooooo!Sort of sunday out fancy.“
“This place is truly UNFORGETTABLE ! Service, atmosphere, and drinks selection , all contribute to make this a great place! The music playing was at the perfect tempo. The buffalo chicken slider was all about bold tanginess, and the salt bae cafe was so textured. The commercial art on the walls looked really interesting.“
“Liked this cozy Bar on St. Marks. Chill atmosphere. Jameson was a little more expensive than some places I've been. I didn't try the food. Service was good. It was pretty quiet for a Saturday afternoon, which works fine for me.“
“Cooper's was a great experience and welcome respite after we got caught in the rain on our way to Chelsea Market. Service at the bar was a tad slow but overall congenial, and the drinks/food we had were solid overall. The bao buns in particular were a highlight.“
“I’ve been visiting Pete’s Tavern on and off for 10+ years now. I even lived just down the street on 18th and 1st for a bit and visited even more frequently at that time. So, it is safe to say, this review comes with a nostalgia bias.I’m surprised I hadn’t left a review before but maybe it was on an old account or something. Regardless, here are some details from my most recent visit in 2024.We started with a glass of the house ale! It tastes lighter than it looks. I’m not a fan of dark heavy beers so this hit the spot for me.On this particular visit we skipped the appetizers, however, I’ve had their Baked Truffle Mac & Cheese and Homemade Veal Meatballs fairly recently and enjoyed them! For dinner, our group had the Gnocchi Spinach Pesto, Chicken Parmigiana, and Three BBQ Brisket Sliders. All were great! Gnocchi was great for any vegetarians in your group. The Chicken Parm was a big dish and I probably should have had leftovers but I was starving.Lastly, I love the updated bathrooms! Although I appreciate the older bar bathrooms sometimes, it was nice to have an easy and clean bathroom experience.I hope you enjoy as much as I do should you visit!“
“Nestled between Koreatown and FlatIron, just a stone's throw north of bustling Washington Square Park, you'll find a hidden treasure to locals - the John Doe gastropub. Stepping into John Doe sets the stage for an intimate yet lively experience that rivals any in New York City. With its friendly staff greeting you like an old friend, it's no wonder this spot feels like home from the moment you walk in. But don't let the snug ambiance fool you - John Doe is where the party's at, regardless of the time or season. There's an undeniable energy that permeates the air, a vibrant buzz that's both infectious and comforting. Whether you're here for a midday lunch or a late-night snack, the atmosphere is always charged with good vibes. The happy hour at John Doe is nothing short of legendary - 11 AM to 8 PM! It's a marathon that offers unbeatable deals for the weary traveler or the city regular looking to unwind. And let's talk about the oysters - they're fresh, and served up at the irresistible price of a dollar each, every single day. In a city that never sleeps, where choices abound, John Doe gastropub is a haven for those in the know. Whether you're a local or just passing through, John Doe is the no-brainer choice for a friendly and solid spot to kick back and recharge. Don't miss out on this quintessential New York experience!“
“First time here and the spot is nice. It’s jazzy and dark, but intimate. We got the soy garlic wings, the cheese corn and the fries. I didn’t get much since I wasn’t so hungry. I was highly disappointed in the wings. Yes it was crispy but it wasn’t tasty. It wasn’t well seasoned. The fries were decent. The cheese corn taste like the corn came out of a can. Sigh. Don’t like that taste. I’ll give it another shot and try the other stuff in the menu.“
“I couldn’t wait to leave a review!!! From the food service and atmosphere, this place was a 10/10 spot to go to!!! Music was on point and my food was delicious. I’d come back here every time I visit New York!!! My favorite was the Thai chilli siracha wings. If you’re a spice/hot water, GET THEM.“
“The Warren in the West Village has just opened up a new speakeasy space, The Den. My friend and I checked out their 6-course tasting menu, which is offered every Friday. We opted for the omnivore while they also provide vegan menu. They have wine pairing as well. Intimate ambiance, warmly lit tables and decent food. If you like wine and spirits, they hold tasting pop-up on Tuesdays. Perfect for a romantic date night. *Caviar & Bubbles *Fluke Crudo *Bone Marrow w. Escargot *Sourdough Bread w. Anchovy Spread *Duck Confit Agnolotti *Roasted Lamb Loin *Fig Pannacotta We enjoyed and appreciated the details they put in every course. Our top favorite was undoubtedly the bone marrow -- it literally melted in our mouth, garnished with a piece of escargot. As a bread girlie, the complimentary bread was fluffy and warm, perfectly served with the anchovy spread. For the lamb, it didn't leave a gamey taste, and the grilled potatoes and carrots on the side were delectable. The fig pannacotta was a nice and light dessert to finish off the meal. My second favorite of the night.“
“Good beer selection and comfort food. The room is large and well spaced. In addition to a well curated beer selection, the cocktails are above average. The menu has an European influence. We enjoyed the Spaetzle and Taphouse Burger. The service was adequate.“
“Hands down! Great staff, great atmosphere, great food! The menu selections are outstanding and the taste of all the food we tried was unbelievable. I'm still dreaming of the Fried Dumpling. Succulent, tasty flavors, and holds together.“
“While I didn’t eat here, the food looked solid. Having said that the place is perfect. Atmosphere is authentic and original….service matched ambiance. The urinals should be the standard, unfortunately in many cases design and materials have gotten worse over time. Booths are perfect too…“
“I had an amazing time at Ten Degrees. It was my first time at the bar and I went with my book club. We booked the big back room which because we have 12-20 people in the group. Tyler, our server, was great. The cucumber gin gimlets were excellent, their happy hour deal was awesome (2 for 1 as long as you order your first drink before 8). I had their pita and hummus, absolutely delicious. Afterward, I ended up meeting Aaron, the owner of the bar and he was so kind and friendly and wanted to know if their was anything else he could do for the group, like a specialty cocktail or food for next time. It was a great night and would recommend to anyone.“
“This restaurant got me impressed with the food quality and service. I did not expected to be this good. Our server went above and beyond and the food was unexpectedly great. Love the classic theme and the music choice. I did recommended it already to some friends. I am not local anymore, but greetings from Florida and great job.“
“Came here on a Sunday early afternoon after searching for a place to have a quick brunch without the hassle of driving in circles looking for a parking. I entered and was immediately greeted by the hostess and decided to sir at the bar. There was a decent amount of people there but it was not crowded.Once seated, I was provided water, menu and utensils. I ordered the hangover sandwich with was a BLT woth.sunny side eggs and avocado. It was yummy and very filling. It cane it fries but the fries were a rad bit overcooked and some were burnt. I also had a Pina mule and ur was really good. Overall a good spot for a quick brunch.“
“I can’t believe it took me so long to discover this place! I live a block away and never realized what a cute and cozy bar spot this was since it’s so inconspicuous from the outside. Great price on drinks for the neighborhood and the pernil buns were excellent—that’s coming from a Puerto Rican! Shout out to Lee, our bartender who took amazing care of us. Can’t wait to come back!“
“Decent bar, with a cool but chilled vibe. Not too busy and the food was great. We tried the wings and pancakes, which were both great with the wings being a bit too spicy but that was probably what Korean food was about. We did not do karaoke but overall it was worth the “
“We are never disappointed when we stop here when we visit NYC. Atmosphere and food is always fantastic and they make killer Manhattans. We just went for the 2023 Rockefeller tree and the staff was pleasant and accommodating. so happy they were decorated for the holidays. 100% go to in our opinion.“
“Love this place! Great food, great drinks, service is always speedy and pleasant. Depending on what time and day you go you'll have a variety of different but interesting people to chat with, unless you just feel like people watching which is fine too.“
“This place is the best. Great vibes, great drinks, cool people. Delirium on draft is amazing. Get the pretzel with beer cheese and pub mustard. Legit neighborhood pub with husband and wife owners. I went during happy hour and it was $2 off all drinks. I will definitely be back!“
“Hop shoppe has been around for quite some time and has proven its reputation with their wide array of delicious burger. My favorite is the holy grail. Inside they have arcade games and a bar. If you're looking to have some good drinks and a great burger this is it. They have a great menu filled with different options including fried pickles! It's worth the trip.“
“Had the paper plane cocktail and the crispy fish tacos. Pretty standard, but I have a bias for fish tacos, so standard fish tacos are 4 ⭐ by default in my book. Minor knock is that the slaw, mayo, and relish together were a little strong and kind of overwhelmed the fish. Why is it so dark? I get it, but I also don't get it ? low light has its merits, but this was super dark ? (the camera make the photos/videos look brighter than the lighting in reality)“
“Not my 1st time here, its ny preferred pub when I'm in the area or going to MSG. The staff is really great, they're always very accommodating. Happy hour Cosmos! Sign me up! They were fantastic. We ordered wings and guac&chips as we were just last minute snacking before heading home. But I've never had a bad anything here & the prices are just right.“
“Cozy, dark (love a dark bar!), very reasonable Happy Hour prices. $9 house red, $4.50 one braised pork slider with smoked coleslaw (they let you buy ONE!). Just the right snack before hitting the subway home. Nice service. Was greeted by the manager as I walked in. Admittedly, he and a coworker were setting up the front picnic tables, but he still took a moment to smile and say hello. The little things matter. Music is upbeat and changes quickly, so if you don't love one song the next may be your cuppa tea.The people next to me are having some kind of whiskey cocktail that comes with a lid bearing smoke ... smells devine.Come here after visiting Wall Street and Century21!“
“Recently moved into the city and been wanting to try Würstbar. Finally got there and by far exceeded every expectation! They play music that brings back so many great memories, service is fast and friendly! Food: The fries are absolutely amazing and the dogs were popping with flavor. Can't wait to go back and try more!“
“We celebrated my son’s birthday here, made reservation, had drinks and brought a cake. Philip was our server. He was the NICEST guy, courteous, attentive, did everything he could to make the event pleasurable for everyone. I highly recommend the Malt House. It’s a beautiful place as well. I will definitely be back for a meal. . Thank you so much for making my son’s birthday so memorable, Philip. You are AWESOME! … Zirka“
“Fabulous food and ambiance. Loved the private tables in the back! Had a lovely, quiet meal for 6 people and could actually hear each other. Highly recommend! Large portions. Easy to share, esp the souvlaki minis as apps. The Pasta Santorini with the zucchini spirals was excellent. Prompt, attentive, and friendly service. Put sparklers in our birthday cake! Very fun!“
“This is a phenomenal pub/bar. The staff are super professional and friendly. They have this phenomenal beer on tap, Weihenstephan, that the bartender took the time and care to pour correctly. We sat outside, drinking awesome beer and watched the city roll by. Highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back.“
“One of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been to. The ambience, service, food, drinks, and music were incredible. Drinks with a twist, Mera naam joker, hera pheri, and RRR were outstanding. Loved the food as well, chicken jalapeño and green peas kulchas, pani puri, butter chicken, and malai paneer pinwheel. Definitely would come back again without hesitation.“
“After brunch, my date and I went here for drinks. I am not all that familiar with West Village so it was nice finding all these places via date. This place is your normal bar moment. Nothing fancy, but they aren't trying to be fancy. The minute I walked in, I had eye contact with someone that looked familiar. I was not sure where I saw him, but I felt like he was somewhat famous. I was a bit tipsy from brunch so I went to the restroom and scanned through my very little knowledge of celebrities. Then it hit me, How I Met Your Father. He was one of the actors from there. I asked Spencer, our cool bartender, if the actor was who I thought he was. "Keep it cool" is what he said, which I thought was hilarious. He wasn't Gisele Bundchen so I wasn't going to fan girl over him. I did take a sneaky pic for the gram, but that was all (millennial in me couldn't resist). If I am being honest, that day turned to night is a blur. I remember up until that point, but I do not remember what I drank here. All I know is I didn't mind just continuing my drinking moment here and Spencer was just great. However, accordingly to my date, he liked my date more than me. It is fine, we all can be friends. If you just want a casual drink, go here and say hi to Spencer. Will definitely be going back here.“
“This place has plenty of space (there's an upstairs) and solid service. I would say the food is on the pricier side and smaller portions. Like the army stew comes in a traditional bowl for tofu soup, usually I expect this to be a larger pot that is shareable. It was quite spicy (in a good way) and I was expecting some spam but it was mainly Vienna sausage and meatballs. I didn't get to try the hand rolls although they look good. Speaking only for their army stew, I think there are other places around the area that does it better.“
“This is a place you must go to when in NYC. I was back in the NY groove for the weekend and watched the Islanders vs Rangers game here. Great atmosphere, amazing drinks and phenomenal bar service! Cheers to the twin sisters working the bar area; you gals rock. Being that it was an emotional hockey game with playoff implications everyone was loud and proud. The owner, Ian, introduced himself and we started talking. Love the fact that he was pro police and supports NYPD. Ian wound up buying myself, my buddy and cousin shots as we were walking out after the game. When in Manhattan and close to Penn station, do yourself a favor and support this local bar, they are top notch! Thanks for the great time!!“
“Excellent service and very good food, I loved the chicken tenders with buffalo, the cook the "cousin" was an excellent, very attentive person. The bar tender was also very friendly and the owner of the establishment was very helpful. It's perfect for stopping for a cold one while you eat.“
“I had my birthday party at Ms Yoo and the experience was fantastic!! The staff was incredibly responsive during the planning stages and super accommodating on the night of. Not to mention some of the nicest people! The DJ upstairs was a huge hit too. Highly recommend hosting an event here :)“
“This place is absolutely golden! They make great drinks and the food is honestly amazing. Drinks can be a tad bit pricey but they’re great cocktails! The service is top notch and plenty of seating! Def worth going if youre ever in the Nutley area!!Wings are great and nachos great“
“Came in for a birthday beer & was greeted and treated very warmly . It’s very welcoming and many locals appeared after time. The Brisket was fantastic & the beer was crisp and refreshing. All thanks to Cat - she was amazing and very welcoming. Will definitely be coming back if in the “
“This place was a treat! We were staying at a hotel down the street and my husband was looking for a place to watch the game so the hotel suggested Goldie's Tavern. It was a very nice American pub. Everyone was lovely and the food was delicious.“
“I've never felt older. I think this bar is made for people who are in college or have recently graduated. Every person I met asked me where I went to school. Don't get me wrong, the bar was filled with very friendly people, it just definitely attracts a certain demographic. At night, the bar area is huge. It's a big open space, which is especially nice in New York. Service was quick and responsive and it was easy to grab a drink!“
“Absolutley love this place, the food for a bar is definitely top tier! I loved the atmosphere and my favorite bartender Maxine always makes it extra fun to be there. She is Courteous and seems to really enjoy taking care of you. 10 out of 10 will come always come again. this is my chill spot“
“Mad for Chicken is a fried chicken lover's dream come true! The chicken is crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and bursting with flavor. With a variety of delicious sauces to choose from, every bite is a delight. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed meal with friends or family. Overall, a five-star experience that never disappoints!“
“Located in Koreatown, the resto is on the 5th floor. Cute backdrops of different designs. We ordered tasty fried chicken pieces with a mustard sauce, the best beef bulgogi (with mushroom sauce), oden fish cake soup and spicy squid/pork dish!“
“This is one of the best stumble upon we have ever had. The food is great, the place is very inviting and the staff goes out of their way to take care of the customers. We’ll definitely add this place to the list of places to revisit. You have to give it a try!!“
“Perfectly cooked chicken parm and ravioli. I always get the basics the first time I eat at an Italian joint—I figure if they can’t do chicken parm, what use are they….big portions, moist, with a distinct red sauces-in a good way.The staff was super attentive, but we went early and this place is obviously an event/party type place—tons of beer on tap, a stage, etc. the waiter said the chef has been there for 20+ years, and it showed. Definitely going back“
