“Wow!! So we had a group of 8 and was pouring rain so looking for a takeout place. Found Tacos Polos because it was only 5 minutes away. We ordered tons of food for pickup. The price was great and the quality and amount for the price was unbelievable. We ordered a 30 tacos combo ?they were amazing. Everything was so good. “I’m addicted! The menu is simple, the food is flavorful and well presented. Service is wonderful and great value. Casual setting with beach-y/food truck vibes vs a restaurant-proper. I suspect that this place would have a lot more foot traffic if it were in town near Bloomfield Ave or Watchung, but I’m happy to have it so nearby in Upper Montclair, and I hope they are a long-standing fixture here (have seen a few places coke and go in this spot). The food here stands out miles ahead of a couple of nearby Mexican options, albeit smaller menu.“
“We recently had the pleasure of dining here today. This restaurant brings out the food of its people with great prices. The tacos are made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the flavors are truly authentic. We tried the fried pork, beef birria and chicken birria tacos and churros they were excellent. The tortillas are made fresh daily. The staff were friendly and attentive. Overall, we had a wonderful meal. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves authentic Mexican food.“

“Their catering service is amazing! I wish I took pictures but everyone at the event ate every birria taco before I can take a picture. Ordering was great and the guy who picked up the phone was extremely sweet. They give you the salsa red and green. It was just amazing and great flavor. “Place is not bad. First time we went was for my wife's birthday. We were excited for Birria tacos. The consome was not bad. My wife enjoyed it. Taco shells are crispy and cheese was just the right amount. Meat was good portion. The place is very small. Its my only complaint. The waitress is good but there's only one in the place so if it's busy it's hard for her to tend to every table but she tries her best. They should add ground beef as part of their meat options. I would recommend this place if you're in a mood for some good tacos.“

Hadn’t realised there was sports screens showing golf and rugby (a plus for most), but with sound turned off this did not annoy the non sports lovers).“

“Strolling through town a wanted a little snack to go with my healthy smoothie from earlier. I walked in and was warmly greeted by a cheerful guy. After checking out the menu, I asked him what his favorites were and he made all the tacos sound so delicious. I was kinda of leaning towards a bowl, but after hearing all the taco goodness I grabbed a Cajun shrimp taco to hold me over till later.Turns out the guy I was chatting with was the owner, Todd. They also sell fresh cut fruit and deliciously baked goods. I have been going to them since the owner himself was a cook at the Newark Cheesesteak house in Newark. He now owns both locations. I prefer Silver Lake because the original chef/ now owner still cooks. That is a sign of great leadership.“
“This food is delicious and true to Dominican food! It is incredibly hard to find authentic DR/PR food in Newark area. Customers service is cool, you are greeted properly. They're usually very busy near weekends. I had the pork mofongo, the chicharron with rice and beans. Everything is flavorful and seasoned well. The portions are well rounded and filling. Price point is great. I'll definitely be back to try Empanadas, chicken etc. It's nice to finally get some real Dominican food around here! I ate it so fast I didn't take a flick, maybe next time.“

“I'm surprised this place has so many poor reviews. I ordered through Uber eats and it arrived very quickly. I got the red chicken enchiladas, a shredded chicken taco and chips and salsa as well as a side of nacho cheese. The chicken in the tacos was a little dry but had great flavor. Kind of like a Tinga. The enchiladas were pretty spicy, but I liked that. Beans and rice were also solid. I'm sure the nacho cheese sauce came out of a can but that was great as well. They have wonderful salsa and I especially enjoyed the habanero salsa. Will definitely be ordering again“
“Javi Chimi definitely hits the spot. I've had their chicken chimi definitely a hit. I've also had their fritura platter, the fritura was fried to perfection. My only complaint, their fried plantains were soggy. They accept Apple Pay, Google Pay, & Cashapp.“

I also had the chips and cheese dip tasted so good I even don’t like steak but I had your steak taco and it tasted good. They said that the food would be ready in 25 minutes. But was ready in 10 minutes. Best Mexican food place, highly recommend.“
