“I’m shocked the ratings are so low for this place—some of the best airport food I’ve had in a LONG time! Flavorful and fresh—try the mild red salsa (it’s garlicky and delicious). I ordered the carnitas tacos; you get two per order but they’re heaping and basically falling out of the tortilla so I’d say the toppings is more like the equivalent to 3 street tacos. The only knock I have (apart from airport pricing ??♀️) is the cheese is just standard orange cheddar (not queso fresco, for example) but this hit the spot. Even my picky toddler was on board to share with me!“

“Really good food and atmosphere. Watch out for the automatic tip on the receipt. They didn't include it on Thursday but did on Friday. Usually I tip 20% but when places automatically add 18%, I don't tip extra when places auto tip. They also included a tip line even tho they added an auto tip lol, not falling for that trick.“

After checking out the menu, I asked him what his favorites were and he made all the tacos sound so delicious. “Silver lake CheeseSteaks and Tacos makes authentic tacos at a very reasonable price. Their glorious selection of cheesesteak options is pleasing. They also sell fresh cut fruit and deliciously baked goods. I have been going to them since the owner himself was a cook at the Newark Cheesesteak house in Newark. He now owns both locations. I prefer Silver Lake because the original chef/ now owner still cooks. That is a sign of great leadership.“
“I run The Bayonne Chess Society & Club. We have events all over Bayonne, different venues. I approached the owner, Ed, and he immediately said, "Yes" He's a chess lover, and had been waiting forever for chess to come to Bayonne. We have almost 300 adult members, no idea how many children. We also have a Boardgame Division. We did this in THREE MONTHS.We have two locations on members meet at on Fridays nights. Chubby's for a more mature atmosphere. People can go grab a beer, eat, and chill, while playing chess. If there are children, members meet at Joe's Pizza...4 blocks away. So, far I've had the cheesesteak sandwich and spicy fries. It was delicious. We meet at BOTH locations at 7 pm. No experience necessary. We have all levels of players young and old.We also meet at Cafe 26 on Saturday afternoons. We have a boardgame Event night on Thursday nights, at Bayown's Vendor Mart from 6 pm to 10 pm. Members bring whatever game they're looking to play. The venue has a few of their own. It's crazy fun. We've also had events at Houlihans. We have other venues in the pipeline, as we continue to grow, as we're now getting members from other towns, like Hoboken, Jersey City, Hoboken, Oldbridge, and Paramus.FINALLY, we have Free group chess lessons on Sundays at Chubby's. We're there from 2 pm until 5 pm. It's RSVP only, as space is limited. As we get more students we may go to another day for chess.But, all in all, Chubby's is a chill place to go, eat, chill, socialize, and PLAY CHESS !! They also have a video game night !!! “This food is delicious and true to Dominican food! It is incredibly hard to find authentic DR/PR food in Newark area. Customers service is cool, you are greeted properly. They're usually very busy near weekends. I had the pork mofongo, the chicharron with rice and beans. Everything is flavorful and seasoned well. The portions are well rounded and filling. Price point is great. I'll definitely be back to try Empanadas, chicken etc. It's nice to finally get some real Dominican food around here! I ate it so fast I didn't take a flick, maybe next time.“

“I love the tacos, they are delicious, especially the gorditas, unfortunately today I ordered a burrito for my 5 year old son (it was too spicy) and the rice came with peas and other condiments that it shouldn't have, on the website they didn't specify that it was spicy, they ruined the my little one's lunch?and since I have already bought in other places I assumed that the burrito was not spicy anyway, just that detail, I called and they told me we were sorry, we will change it, but I would have liked to have a refund or at least the burrito without spicy. But otherwise very delicious, everything is a very delicious place to eat jaimaca water, super delicious, fresh and well made. ?“
