“If you love quirky places with good food at cheap prices you'll fall in love with the Road House Deli on Myrtle Avenue in Boonton! Talk about a hole in the wall place! There is wonderful Polish food made fresh, just like in Mama's kitchen if she was a good and interested cook. There's a table full of individually wrapped Polish pastries and they sell coffee, tea and food to go. Along the side wall are four tiny vintage booths so you can eat here in comfort. Today was my first time and the potato pancakes were large and tasty, the pirogies were excellent and the owner put extra onions on top just like in Poland. We also had the meatballs with rice stuffing and gravy and real Kielbasa. Warren, a frequent lunch customer (Several times a week) was so enthusiastic. He eats one lunch in the Road House Deli and takes home a second for his dinner. Warren said to try the creamy horseradish dressing on the potato pancakes. He also says he comes every Tueaday for the special spinach casserole which says is excellent. I'm recommending the Road House Deli for good home style cooking, low prices and talk about local color. There is a must be at least 60 year old phonograph and hundreds of LP albums. You choose what you want to hear, put the record on the phonograph and get the music you want without having to pay a jukebox fee. Now how cool is that?“
“After spending the morning walking down and up Main Street of Boonton we decided to stop in Sam’s Deli to order a Roast Beef Sloppy Joe to go. This isn’t a fast food place so be patient while they fill your order, or make you a fresh sandwich. Our Triple Decker Sandwich was large, well made, good tasting and reasonably priced.“
“I only go here for 12 bagels and a TEC.... THERE BAGELS , to me, are great.. just the way I like it.... I'm from Morristown and I go here.... They are not dense... And the outside has that crunch.... When retoasted they are just like the first day you got them... There Taylor Ham Egg and Cheese are on point, nice and full ? ... Next time I will take a picture.... The guy, the older one, behind the counter is very very nice... He gave me a legit baklava from his country that was like WOOOOOOW ... Just a nice place....“
“Great little shop with the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had...keilbasa and egg on a kaiser. Roll is fresh and soft and the keilbasa is crisped nicely and so flavorful. Friendly service and fair pricing. Need to come back for lunch/dinner one day.“
“Joe, the owner, is SO mean. EVERY day I wake up thinking "today is the day that I eat the food that I made purposefully for lunch" and then I look at the specials of the day at Big Mouth and the thought of doing such a thing disappears more quickly than it appeared, a distant memory, a sheer figment of my imagination. Fig and brie griller? Amalfi Coast wrap? LOBSTER RAVIOLI?!?! Yeah ok, let me ignore those and go eat my pb&j while I pretend it's nearly as delectable as their homemade loaded baked potato soup... yeah right?.I should mention that, much like a cobra, you have to unhinge your jaw just to take a bite of literally ANY sandwich they make. It's unbelievable how much goodness they manage to fit between bread that I assume could only be baked to such perfection by Jesus himself. As with most complicated relationships, I'm unsure if Joe and his gals (who are ALL lovely, I almost want to get a pt job there just to hang out with everyone who works there) do this to me because they love me or because they hate me... and without knowing the answer, I still keep going back.Is there a "Big Mouth Deli" rehab? Should we all start meeting at the local Presbyterian on Tuesday nights and then ignore each other on Wednesday afternoon as we run into one another picking up our individual orders of the Michael sandwich? Or should we all just say screw it, give in and buy maternity pants? The only real way for me to find the answers to all of those questions is to... in the name of research... continue going back daily. This is the sacrifice that I will make on behalf of ALL of us... you're welcome.Joe... your talent has no equal, and neither will my Kohls bill if you keep it up.Parking: Parking is not an issue. Plenty for everyone.“
“This place came highly recommended by a co-worker and it did not disappoint. This place is in the top 5 in the surrounding Essex and Morris county region. Try their subs and prove me wrong.Parking: Make sure to park in the right parking lot.“
“Super nice ladies working there. I came in right before close and didn't want to make them do anything whole they were cleaning up but they insisted I order something and did not mind one bit. Got the potato/cheddar and Philly cheese steak pierogi. Both were fantastic!Store is super clean with a bunch of great snacks you can't find anywhere else. I'll be stopping back in for sure!“
“When they say simple is the best, this place hits the mark. Ordered a bacon, egg, cheese bagel and a regular ham/salami cheese sandwhich. Both were great, simple, good ingredients, pefect proportions, and prices were affordable as well. People inside were kind and helpful. Would definitely recommend.“
“Let me start off by saying I grew up in Philadelphia and ate cheesesteaks regularly ever since I was quite young. I know these folks here are known for their “best of NJ” Taylor Ham ;not pork roll ( almost forgot where I was) and cheese. I’ve had it here before and I do believe it is incredible and stands up to the claims. However… the cheesesteak they make here may not be getting enough love. You should consider it and understand that it could put up a fight with some of the best in Philly. 10/10. Would order again, and again … and again. Also, the guys here are great to chat with.“
