“Went to the Linwood while visiting family from out of state on a Friday night. I grew up in Linden so I was excited to see how the place has "grown up". Nicer bar, cleaner and comfortable sitting areas than my youth and MUCH better food. Service was excellent and food came out quickly. It was a descent portion and very tasty. My only complaint was the cost but that cannot be helped since the cost of everything has risen. However, $18 for a chicken sandwich seems a bit high.“

“Perfection in the food industry can only be perfected after some time has passed. But for over 75 years, the White Diamond Diner in Clark, NJ has exemplified itself for perfection. Let's just say that Ray Collins made the great decision to move to Clark to partner with his nephew to open and work in the current location. Without his contributions, the Clark White Diamond may not be as well known today. Granted, the diner has a stored history, starting with the Cox Family. Where they were opening up some of the original White Diamonds. The idea that the diner chain was Southern run and meant to be moved into NY is impressive. Alone that speaks that early on, these diners were trying to replicate the equivalent of a fast food restaurant today. Quick service, good food, and reasonable prices. All factors alone would drive people from miles away to visit this diner. So 75+ years later, this diner stands as great as it was before. Upon interviewing the owner of the Clark WD, I was pleased and excited to receive all of this information. I have also been told that most cooking is done with experience originated, but they do provide training for younger employees. There is a reason why this diner has been deemed one of the friendliest and family atmosphere diners. All because the owners were great to work with, and honored that a report was being written about their diner. If anyone is visiting or wants to write reports on good diners, I highly recommend this one. There is almost nothing bad to say about this diner. I have visited this diner twice already, and have nothing bad to say about this diner. Upon arriving, you pick your own seats. Though the space is small, there is plenty of seating. Whether it would be the 10-12 bar stools or five booth seats, there is always a place to sit. Within 5 minutes, you are ordering your meal. The best thing about this diner is, the waiters get to know your faces, where they will memorize your order after you state it. So that they are able to track you down after it is down cooking. All this happens within 10 minutes of you actually being in the diner. Soon the food arrives. I have ordered the double bacon burger the last couple of times that I have gone. It is one of the best burgers that I have ever gotten from a diner. The moment you bite into the burger, you are met with a rush of flavors, plus the test of a freshly cooked burger. The soft chewing of the patty with seasoning melts in your mouth. Eager to take another bite, then another one. Soon you realize that you finished the burger in a matter of minutes. But you don't realize that, due to the flavor rush that you taste. Don't get me started on the bacon. It is cooked to perfection. Grease runs off the bacon as you bite into it. With each crunch of a crispy slice of bacon, it adds to the taste of the burger as mentioned earlier. Overall, it is never expensive to get food from this location. I highly recommend visiting this diner at some point, and getting the burger that I mentioned, it is well worth it!“

Served warm bread before the meal with the option of olive oil and butter. They had a peach sangria special that was excellent. I tried the lobster raviolis and was pleasantly surprised. These weren’t your typical store bought pre-frozen raviolis. No sir. Fresh made and stuffed with lobster. The chicken Murphy was enough for two people! Amazing. “During my commute back from New Brunswick on April 1st, I stopped by White Rose Hamburgers for a meal, despite the day’s drizzle. As I arrived around 10:30 AM, the diner was barely busy. The parking lot had only a couple cars: If I had driven here then would have been ample space. From the outside, the place looked considerably plain, for a Manno-produced dining car (it was likely bricked with stucco)---the interior, in which clean stools and countertops lined the walls, was not much different, though there was a plethora of mid-late 1900s memorabilia for decoration. As soon I walked in, the two staff manning the counter and grill asked what I wanted; there were many regulars who already knew, though I wasn't one of them.I ordered a large coffee, Cali cheeseburger, and fries, which cost ~$15. I took a seat at the main counter (only 2 seats there), and only a couple minutes afterward was my meal ready. The coffee was standard, but the burger and fries are to die for---this burger is the type that melts beautifully. The meat synthesizes with the rest of the ingredients to create a harmonious sensation of flavor with each bite, equally juicy and savory in tandem with sour sweetness. The fries were especially crispy, with an audible crunch in each bite; their only downside was the amount of salt I put on them. Though pricy, it is impossible to go wrong with burger and fries at White Rose.“
