“I was very surprised, but we had a good experience here today for breakfast. Even though this establishment is very close to our home, located off a busy Route 46 East in Elmwood Park, past experiences and the fact that we never saw the parking lot too crowded had us staying away from Parkway Diner. Upon entering, we were greeted by the staff and were seated right away in the dining room to the left of the entrance. The food is standard diner food, with a good selection on the menu. We decided on the waffle tower (layers of French toast and waffle quarters with banana, strawberries, and walnuts topped with whipped cream and chocolate syrup) and 2 eggs scrambled with turkey sausage, accompanied by crispy home fries and wheat butter toast. The service was good, but the food was even better with huge portions. The prices were very typical of what you will find now at any diner in the area. This place is as solid as any neighborhood diner. Go and give it a try.“
“Jen!! We love you! Best service we have ever had anywhere in the world. You have totally made our trip! We hope to see you on broadway the next time we come! You are an outstanding server with the most amazing voice ? Beautiful, talented and friendly! To anyone who is reading this- leave the best review for Jen because she deserves the world and more. Lots of love,Marnie,Lisa and Debs xx“
“We had plans to eat at Ellen’s Stardust Diner before watching Wicked, but the line was down the block…in the rain. We found this place very close by and were super happy we did. Its a 3minute walk to the Gershwin Theater. The food came out so fast. The portions were huge and my whole family loved their food. The sweet potato fries were the best we’ve ever had. I highly recommend this restaurant. We’ll be back next time we’re in town.“
“I visited this place for the first time this past Sunday since I work right next door and let me tell you ??? AMAZING FOOD, AMAZING SERVICE EVERYTHING WAS GREAT! the kids there were so polite and so was the chef making the food right in front of me !!!! Hashbrowns are my favorite diner food and I have never had better than those! It’s great to know this place has been open forever and I can definitely see why! Keep up the good work ? “
“Before I went back to college after spring break, me and my family took a stop at the Colonial Diner to get some food for diner, driving into the parking lot and getting seated pretty quickly. There were a good amount of other people in the diner, so getting a seat quickly was nice. Service wasn't anything special, but I don't really mind. The atmosphere of the diner is great, a very retro feel like it just came out of the early to mid 1900s. It was a cozy vibe. We got the 21 shrimp, breakfast burger, french toast, and some fish that was a special- sorry for forgetting the name. Really liked my breakfast burger and my sister's french toast. The shrimp was pretty basic though, and I think the fish could've been seasoned a bit better (it still tasted good!).Overall a pretty good place to drop into if you're looking for an affordable bite with a nice vibe.“
“We had lunch here, and sat outside on a lovely fall day. Service was a bit funky -- not bad at all, but somewhat forgetful -- but the staff was friendly, apologetic when appropriate, and enjoyable. The food was very good. Classic old-style diner with a broad-ranging menu. Everything we had was well-prepared, tasty, and served hot. I'll go back. A little gem.“
“We came here on a Saturday and from start to finish Ray’s was enjoyable. The staff was very friendly and for it to be as crowded as it was they were very engaging with the customers. The food came out quickly and was delicious! Truly a wonderful family owned spot! Will definitely be going back.“
“The check in was a tad chaotic, even with a reservation, but it was a Sunday morning after all. However the Carnegie overcame my initial skeptical impression by offering excellent service with vast portions of food for a fair price in an expensive city. I would definitely return in the future.“
“Burgers and Chinese food at one place, never would have thought! Burgers were good, big and juicy, and relatively inexpensive. The "caramelized onions" were those fried onions you get from a can and not really caramelized onions. But for 10 bucks with fries and a can of soda, im ok with it.“
“I live in NY but visit NJ a lot. So l've been to both Carnegie Diner locations. I absolutely love this place and its a consistent great experience in both locations. I travel for work and my coworkers and I meet here a lot to eat and network with other companies. It even has vegetarian options. It's fairly priced and so delicious! Anytime I get visitors I always recommend this restaurant and when they come back from the restaurant they are always satisfied. Definitely do not hesitate to stop by this restaurant.“
“My friends and I went for lunch this past Saturday just before 2pm. Having been to one of the other locations, I knew the food would be good, but our waitress was amazing! Unfortunately didn't take note of her name but she was so patient with our group of 6 girls. Thanks for the great food, huge portions, and bottomless bellinis ? Kidos to the dj who kept us dancing from our seats!“
“Bendix diner is like stepping back into time. It's nice to see an old school diner like this. Don't let it's facade fool you into thinking that the food is greasy or average. Quite the contrary, the quality of food is very good, the portions are of good size and the prices are reasonable. There are artisan hot sauces on each table and counter, the syrup is maple syrup only but with cool flavors like Madagascar vanilla, cinnamon, habanero and others. Also the tea, they use premium tea leaves. All of that struck me as odd in a good way. The owner John and his son Michael are wonderful. They are attentive and provide good service. Their food is excellent. I had a turkey club there that rivaled 4 star hotel restaurants. It's truly a hidden gem“
“Last night, my party and I had an extraordinary dining experience at Oakland Diner. The food was absolutely fantastic, and our waitress, Nicole, truly elevated our evening with her exceptional service. Not only was she incredibly sweet, but she also demonstrated unparalleled attentiveness throughout our meal. From promptly fulfilling our requests for extra napkins to ensuring our glasses were never empty, Nicole went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. Thanks to her warm demeanor and impeccable service, our dinner was nothing short of amazing. We are already looking forward to returning, knowing that Nicole will make our next visit just as memorable. She is undoubtedly an asset to the team and deserves all the praise!!“
“First and foremost, before I even discuss the food I want to address the fact that all of the staff at the diner today seemed genuinely happy to be there. Having worked in food service, that’s generally unheard of. Big props to the owner/ management for creating an environment like that. Now the food: I’m gluten intolerant. I couldn’t contain my smile when I saw the extensive gluten free options and heard of the lengths the kitchen goes to ensure allergy safety. I can’t remember the last time I have had so many wonderful options and could order something so easily. I got the chicken fingers and they were wonderful.Lastly: Safe is a fantastic server and very clearly cares a lot about the diner patrons. Every table that gets him as their server is just as lucky to have him as the diner is.Thank you for a great dinner ? I will be back OFTEN“
“Todays breakfast was enjoyed at The Golden Grill Restaurant in Teaneck, NJ. It's a cute breakfast nook tucked amongst a row stores and shops on a busy road in Teaneck, but the vibe is homey and comfortable. The staff is super down to earth and have this bustling little restaurant working like clockwork. The prices were great and the food was stick to your ribs good. We wound up ordering the following menu items: - chicken noodle soup - corned beef hash with eggs and grits - Smoked ham and eggs - hot chocolate“
“High number of Google reviews are justified. Loved this diner! Fajita omelette and banana pancakes were really good. Fortunately there was no waiting over the Easter weekend. Sit by the windows, and enjoy some good sunshine while having your brunch. Service was a bit slow as we had to remind about our orders thrice, but the staff was very pleasant to work with. Great place for brunch!“
“Very pleasant diner experience, with good food and excellent service. Reasonable prices and all-day food items make this place an excellent option for dining in this area and a great value - There is something to eat for everyone.Vegetarian options: Lots of salads, cold items and pasta dishes. They also offer a veggie burger.“
“Best breakfast I had in a while so I am very pleased to have found this little gem. The breakfast wrap is sooo good, it's perfection in a wrap! The home made corn beef hash is amazing, best I've had in the area. Did not disappoint and will be back for more.“
“Great neighborhood spot with standard fare. Definitely a spot worth checking out for breakfast/brunch. They are currently renovating/expanding part of their dining area so ESPRESSO DRINKS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. I would call ahead to see if they're back on the menu if it's a deal breaker for you. Good variety of food and super quick service no matter how packed it may be. They are also fairly accommodating if you need to adjust/remove an item from a dish or two.“
“Glad l went, heard about this diner. Good prices, good portions .. great service.Nice staff, friendly and they have so many pictures of Legends on the wall.Highly recommendDietary restrictions: They will accommodateParking: Parking was availableKid-friendliness: They have a family vibeWheelchair accessibility: Ramp n easy parking“
“Wow, what a hit! Fabulous decor, great food, and fantastic service - will definitely return there. We were there early on a weekend morning and loved the atmosphere. Riverview omelette is excellent, and the grits were the best I've had in a while.Parking: About a dozen regular spots and a couple of handicap-marked spaces.“
“A hidden gem in this community. Always feels cozy, always friendly, and always attentive. From their Belgium Waffles w/ Chicken Tenders to their Taylor Ham w/ cheese & eggs to their Oatmeal with mix fruits, all splendid! I’ve been here for years and at no time have I ever walked away upset. Excellent service to top it off, thank you!“
“The Chit Chat is a large diner. It overlooks New York City. The decorations remind me of Alice in Wonderland. They had cute Easter decorations. They offer a brunch which comes with a mimosa.I had Norwegian Benny, my husband had eggs and pancakes. My daughter had an omelette and my mom had eggs and grits, she loves grits.I had a Long Island Coffee and it was so good. The parking lot is not large enough if they are very busy and they can have a wait.Vegetarian options: They have great salad options.Parking: The lot can fill up and you have to park in a lot down the street.Kid-friendliness: It’s a diner atmosphere so fine for kids.“
“Best breakfast value in the area. Serves real home fries, not the low budget frozen hashed browns like other local diners. They have tons of regulars, a testament to the quality and consistency. One negative - the server(woman) is always in a bad mood and it shows.“
“Need a quick cup of coffee or their famous "Tower" breakfast sandwich then head to Abbie's. This small restaurant has 4 tables and about 6 bar stools. They have great pancakes and a good cup of coffee. Many locals go here for their morning caffeine hit and local news. People call in their orders and run in and pick up. It's a "guy" kind of place and many local landscapers, and tradesmen are getting a great breakfast sandwich and coffee on the run for a very reasonable price. I wouldn't recommend it if you're going with your girlfriends though.“
“We had great service and a fantastic meal, great coffee, fresh salad, delicious Manhattan clam chowder and great fish and chips. The portions were huge and we had to take home leftovers. There was an impressive and massive dessert display, so we brought some desserts home, as well, because we were too full to eat them. Overall a superb diner!“
“Came here with my husband and friends of ours with two kids. We got seated quickly. The staff was so friendly to the kids, it was great! The kids menu had plenty of choices, and the regular menu has enough for anyone to choose from. We all enjoyed our food. I had the BBQ Cobb salad, and everything was fresh and delicious. Portions are generous. Definitely plan to come back soon!“
“Very nice address for this restaurant ?? we had lunch here for our last meal in NYC. Located very close to our hotel in the upper west side.Impeccable service. I recommend this place. We had a good lunch, my plates are well filled. You can go there with your eyes closed ?☺️“
“This is our go to spot. There is an immediate "welcome home" feeling when you walk in. The staff is extremely welcoming and accommodating. I know it says diner in the name; however, that doesn't do it justice. The hardest thing whenever we come is deciding what to get, which in this case is a good thing. We always know we will have amazing food and friendly, attentive service. Also, let me tell you, the chicken francaise over penne is pastably the best I've ever had.“
“I’m not exaggerating when I say everything was amazing. The food had a rich and was nothing like I tasted before. Our waiter, Rafi, was too kind and gave excellent service. While Guy, was a great entertainer and host. I’ll definitely come every time I’m in NYC.“
“Allwood Diner never misses! Whether it’s breakfast, a wrap or a salad for lunch, portions are huge and flavor is awesome. The salads are large so you can really split in 2 meals or share. Buffalo chicken wrap is always solid especially since they panini press the wrap so it doesn’t fall apart! And dessert is incredible - the chocolate Oreo bomb ball - chef’s kiss.“
“Amazing food, great customer service and very clean restaurant. I get food here at least once a week and have never had any problems. If you miss Libbys Lunch on McBride Ave, this is the place for you. The owner was the head cook at Libbys for many years so its just as good if not better, especially since its Halal!“
“First time here and it won’t be the last. This place is no frills. Menu is simple and easy to choose from. Excellent small business serving delicious Filipino food. The owners are a lovely couple that greet everyone with a warm smile. Prices are fair for the portions. I ordered the tapsilog and it was perfect. I intended on taking a picture, but it was so good that I only realized I didn’t once my plate was licked clean. Come try this local hidden gem!“
“WOWW! What an experience... I went on Thursday afternoon and it was starting to pick up early dinner. I was pretty hungry so I ordered an Eggs Benedict and an order of pancakes. The eggs Benedict was one of the best I have had in a long time. The English muffin was toasted to perfection. The pancakes were the best pancakes I have had hands down, they were so fluffy and loaded with strawberries. They DO NOT skimp on portions here. I was so content with my meal that I got a slice of Canoli Cheesecake to go that sent me into a deep food coma. The service was incredible as it was my first time there. I will definitely return to this diner. The manager Mike gave me a great table and was super friendly, great guy. My server Astrid was very attentive and helped guide me through the options on the extensive menu. I recommend everyone come here if you are looking for an AWESOME diner!!!!!!!“
“Located at an intersection between Goffle Road and Wagaraw Road, forming a triangle, my partner and I had lunch at the Hawthorne Diner as first-timers. Upon entering, the interior was small and simple, but it had plenty of booths as well as a bar and was clean. There were a few tables in the back where we sat promptly. Their menu had everything one wanted or needed at a typical Jersey diner. There were plenty of breakfast choices, as well as wraps, sandwiches, and dinner options. We decided on something light and went for the broccoli cheddar potato skins and 1/2 tuna fish sandwich combo with salad. Good food is served in a timely fashion and at a decent price. Our server was friendly and attentive. We can recommend this place.“
“My first time going during mid-November -- I stopped by around noon, and the place was pretty crowded, but still lots of available seating! I ordered the eggs Benedict -- the avocado option, which was a healthier alternative than the regular one with muffin. -- it had so much delicious hollandaise sauce. My partner ordered the Hillery Street house special from the breakfast platter menu, which has two large pancakes, eggs, and bacon strips. We also ordered (not pictured) hot chocolate with whipped cream and regular coffee with milk--- the milk is served in this cute sealed small glass container. Overall, it is a family-friendly place with great service and tasty brunch options with sizeable portions. We definitely see ourselves returning to try more of their breakfast menu. Ps: Nicely decorated with an autumn theme not just outside the entrance but all over the restaurant.“
“We stopped in to have a bite to eat as it looked like a nice little diner to have an early supper. The food was well prepared and brought out in a timely manner by Ericka who took very good care of us. If we return to this part of NJ, we will be sure to visit Ericka again at the Circle Diner.“
“Cosmic Diner is a breakfast paradise in New York City. With a wide variety of options, their portions are generous enough to keep you energized for a full day of exploring the city. The food is both tasty and fresh, with omelets being a standout choice. Whether you're a local or just visiting, Cosmic Diner is a must-visit for a hearty and satisfying breakfast experience.“
“I was first introduced to Astro in 2013, and since then I have been every time I visit Manhattan. If you're looking for something to get you ready for a day in the Big Apple, this is what you need! Shun the souless chains, and head straight for an independent institution. It's a traditional urban diner, with everything you would expect; great service, great food and a great atmosphere. It feels like the menu has grown over the years, but I tend to stick to a couple of classics. It's fairly priced for the area (everything in Manhattan feels expensive at the moment!) and don't forget to pick up one of thier mugs to take home as a souvenier!“
“The hamburgers here are dynamite! Good meat, cooked to order, and their various toppings are well balanced and contribute to the taste of the meat rater than hide it. And the first time I went here, I did my standard test of getting a reuben, and that came out quite good too. And my wife has called their candied pecan crusted French toast the best French toast she's ever had (and she is a fan of French toast). Even when busy, service is still efficient, considering the quantity of people they have to serve. My only reservation and suggestion is to NOT order any mixed drinks. That is the one item of the menu I have to avoid, as every drink I've ever ordered here has been too heavy on alcohol and not mixed very well.“
“Jimmy and Bernice work the wee hours of the morning to make everything fresh every day. From the Friday corn beef hash for breakfast ( sells out early) to the best fresh burgers. Homemade soups. While I worked in the area I ate lunch there every day for about 40 years. Miss eating there they made you feel like family.“
“I like the chicken cesar wraps. The only thing i don't like is that every time i come and there's a waiter, I get a different price on things. Some charge for a little extra dressing, some don't, some charged for Cucumbers in stead of tomatoes And some don't. I'd like to see specials for takeout also,e.g., dinner and a pastry or something like that. Other than that it's good food.“
“Nevada Diner has been around for generations. The breakfast is great like most diners. I tried the chicken parm sandwich wih garlic bread and it was actually delicious! The bread was so soft and buttery and the chicken tastes great! Would definitely buy again. The loaded fries were good too. Though I would prefer to have them topped with sour cream and green onions for their price. Overall, good place to eat.“
“The dinner is a very quaint retro look on the outside and cozy in the inside. The staff are helpful but not super attentive. The food choices are many and presented well. But some of the flavor profiles where not up the the standard I was expecting from such a price point.“
“I go for breakfast with my fellow Mama's who are sneaking away for this precious time, and the service is always great and quick to accommodate special asks!!! The food is always just what we need and tasty. Whether we are crying over coffee or laughing over coffee, we are never made to feel rushed. I like walking in and feeling welcome...“
“I hit this place whenever I am on the upper west. Solid service, can get in and out pretty quick (if its not packed on a weekend).Place has been there forever, allot of regulars and locals eat there so you know its decent.Good burgers that are fresh and cooked right (charred). Not the cheapest place but I'd rather pay up and eat a good burger.“
“City Diner was a late night spot after clubbing back in the day. After reminiscing with a friend from that era, we wanted to be in a space that has good food - Burgers, Salads and Fries Oh My. So CD it was. Great service and cool memories.“
“The Park West Diner had excellent food and a very reasonable and the waitress that wait on me her name was Sonia she was very pleasant and she offered if I wanted any more coffee and I said yes she's very nice and it was very pleasant and the place was very “
“love this place! had great meal for an Easter Sunday outing. A lot of food for reasonable price. 3 GIANT pancakes and a mountain of homefries! they even have some tables with mini jukebox! very clean and updated. we definitely will return.“
“This is a very good old school diner. I've been coming here for years. They are always courteous and the food is reliable. I was in the mood for grilled chicken with honey mustard on a roll. It wasn't on their menu as that but they were more than happy to make it for me. They have a number of daily specials and they are different all the time so you can be a regular without getting bored.“
