“My father had the chefs special which was this huge plated fish with a lobster tail and mangu and I had a lobster mofongo. 10/10!! Food came out quick right after appetizers and our server was great. For such a small restaurant, the atmosphere is nothing but pleasant. Music not too loud, so you can carry a conversation but your neighboring tables wouldn’t be able to listen it.“

“Because I had to walk back to Times Square from pier 83, I blindly selected this store on the way. It was very quiet in front of the door. I thought it was not open. After entering, I found that it was very big inside and the atmosphere was very good.We ordered a soup, a starter, and three main dishes; the portions were very large, and we felt a little full after finishing the appetizers. The appetizer of beef heart skewers was very suitable for our taste. It was a bit spicy and the children ate a whole skewer. The soup tastes like a non-acid Tom Yum soup, which is very appetizing and relieved my discomfort caused by the boat ride. The three main dishes were also great. The kids thought the chicken was delicious and almost ate the whole quarter. The steak rice has the feel of Pepper Kitchen and the flavor of Xinjiang rice bowl. The fries underneath are very crispy and it is delicious when served hot. I couldn't eat the paella so I packed it away, but I tried it and it was delicious. There was a lot of seafood in it. A very cost-effective store, the menu prices are not expensive, the service is very good, and the customers are almost always attentive. Highly recommended!“

“As a Dominican, I wholeheartedly approve this place - 100%! When I first visited, all I could think of was, 'Oh God, I hope this place never closes!' It's become my go-to spot for Saturday breakfast, and for good reason. The food is delicious, beautifully presented, and authentic. The mangú is a perfect representation of plátano power, and the ceviche is simply divine! I'm so glad I found this gem, and I look forward to returning for a fantastic breakfast/brunch experience.Parking: Paid $10 dollars for parking at the Chase Bank parking lot location right next to the restaurant“

“I love a home run...a trifecta :)It's a cozy but clean location...bright & warm vibe with the woods & metals. What can make it more welcoming???!!! A baked goods, sandwich, and other goodies glass showcase as soon as you step in....sorry no picture! The service is AMAZING by far #1 on my list of places BUT not over bearing. They took care of all our needs with kindness & gentleness while allowing us to enjoy our time together. The food tasted as if from FARM TO TABLE...fresh, crisp, warm and light. The arepas were perfect...my grandma and mom are straight from Colombia so arepas are huge...these meet the criteria, soft but cooked on the inside and grilled perfectly, moist not dry. My son's Eggs Benedict was delish and the bread wasn't the usual English muffin instead a thick slice of heavenly toast. The avocado toast was unbelievable and scrumptious. I had both Arepa dishes...both very good but the beef and cheese was exceptional :)Look forward to going back!“

“I was delighted to find a restaurant that's certified gluten-free. The food was so good that even the non-celiac folks in my group enjoyed it and would gladly go back.Dietary restrictions: In years past, I got sick at many restaurants that offer both gluten-free options and "regular" food. Samba, being certified gluten-free, is completely safe for celiacs. What a sense of relief! They also have a number of vegetarian dishes and vegan dishes.“

“Finally…authentic, delicious Dominican food that I don’t have to go into NYC to order. My gathering was such a hit , catering was the best! The pictures won’t do this place justice. It’s the taste of a hole in the wall I missed so much. From their chicharron (fried pork rinds), to classic mangu (mashed plantains) with cheese, eggs + sausage. I’m drooling just looking through my food pictures from them. This review is long overdue. Trey it for yourself you won’t regret it!! Did I mention how friendly they all are? The service was great too!“

“The food was good. However, they did not have some of the plates like seco de Chivo, but they still served it with only a few pieces of meat. We brought our own beers as it was advertised that we could, but then the bill came with a $50 corkage charge! We ended up not paying the charges, but it was uncomfortable as they did not give us any warning.“

“They are really excellent, the food is very good, the service is very excellent, a very good place to go to eat, it is quiet and it is very cheap. The only problem is that they do not prepare any type of cocktail, no alcohol, perhaps that is why not many people go, but apart from that That's why the service is first class....“

“I was there last night 3/30 to have the Whiting and French fries. At first I was very disappointed when I realized they didn't have anymore of this special "pink sauce" that tastes amazing. But when I got in the car and tasted that fish, it was fresh, well-seasoned, and tasted just as good with or with out the sauce. I will definitely be returning.“

“Overall young chef and team they do a great job with service and establishment is really nice and clean. Only reason why I give you 4 stars it’s 16.62 for a small plate that barely had any mean although it tasted wonderful. Also rice was hard seemed like it was being switched but for a surprise visit good job.“

“This is definitely worth it if you want to get your moneys worth for a brunch the food was not that bad very limited options, but the Caesar wrap that I got was pretty good with the fries. There is only one bathroom, so make sure that when you feel like you gotta pee already start a line. They constantly come around refilling your glasses, which is great. They have many options of sangrias and mimosas available. They were pretty tasty. The hookah was pretty affordable. I think it was $25 for a refill and $40 to get one. Make sure you get one before 4 o’clock because they kick you out by five and you can’t finish it but the hook was pretty smooth. Will be coming here again the music was great definitely a lot on repeat but it was great !! :)“

“If you like margaritas and Mexican food this is the restaurant you need to visit in Hell's kitchen. On the east side of 9th avenue between 53rd and 54th Street this gem has the best margaritas at $20 and they're worth every penny. The food is amazing. Service is quick and the waiters and waitresses are both courteous and entertaining. Two people can have two margaritas each and the entree for about $120 including the tip. If you visit only one restaurant in Hell's kitchen this year make it this place.“

“Stopped by for lunch today and was blown away. Aside from over a dozen fried empanadas to choose from, they had five baked varieties on display. Inside is seating for 20, a soda fountain and a small drink fridge with about 10 options. Empanada are $6 but double the size you'll find elsewhere. I got the chicharrones de cerdo bowl. Served piping hot and fresh, the pork wasn't hard but had great flavor and chew. The sauteed red onions were a nice touch on top of a bed of fluffy white rice and iconic black beans. The squeeze of lime over everything married all the flavors together giving it that zesty acidity. $15.98 and well worth it, could only finish half.It took less than 10 minutes to prepare.Parking: Better off in the back or on a side street“

“Hidden gem on Bergenline Avenue in North Bergen. The storefront doesn't seem like much and when you walk in the place is sparse but oh the food. Taste is amazingly delicious. Everything is spiced to perfection from the appetizer to the dessert. The potatoes with three sauces was amazing. I especially liked how flavorful the sauces were. The causa with chicken didn't disappoint. The lomo salteado was excellent and the ají de gallina was stupendous. For dessert we has the tres leches and a flan like dessert simply stupendous. “We ordered carnita tacos and the presentation was very good, although the meat was a little too salty, you could eat it, the atmosphere is like a bar where you can go to talk with friends but it is also familiar. In conclusion it is nothing wow but it is not the worst either so you can pass on the customer service is good.“

“I didn't even know this place existed until a friend suggesting going here for dinner and I'm so glad. This place is a hidden gem.***In a rush? Skip to the end for my tips.*** When we arrived, they were getting ready for a private event later that evening, but they still let us stay and eat. The owner patiently waited (and had to come back several times) because it took us a bit of time to make up our mind. Everything sounded so good, so it was hard to choose just a few dishes. We were very happy with our choices. Everything was delicious!- Shrimp burger - I already knew that the texture would be like a patty consistency of minced shrimp, but my friends were surprised because they were expecting whole shrimp pieces in the burger. I was a fan of the dill sauce on it, but if you don't like dill, maybe ask for it on the side? The dill taste and smell is strong, which goes perfectly with the shrimp burger.- Empanada Sampler - I wish I remembered what flavors were included in this, but everything was super good.- Mofongo Supreme - The mofongo was delicious and it came with pieces of cheese, shrimp, and steak. Definitely need to go back to try the lobster mac and cheese that everyone seems to be raving about and try their other dishes, as well, which all sound delicious.Tips: - There is plenty of street parking nearby and even a municipal parking lot to the left of the restaurant (if you are facing the restaurant).- It seems like a lot of people do take-out so that is an option, too.- We went on a Saturday night and left around 8:30 and they were supposed to be opened until 11:00, but they closed early for a private event, so maybe you should call ahead to make sure that they are open for guests or pick-up. Someone stopped by and was disappointed that they were closed early.“

“Absolutely delicious! If you're looking for great and authentic Ecuadorian food, this is it. My mom has been looking for a good place for years. This is her first time having caldo de bola in 10 years and it truly did not disappoint. It tasted like my grandma put all her love into it. It was hearty, fresh, flavorful, packed with veggies. The tortilla de verde was yummy as well, the perfect side! I will be coming again and trying more of their menu. Always try and support these unique and authentic places!“

“Honestly, given the prices on the menu and how cheap things were (considering inflation and everything else), I wasn't expecting much. Boy, was I wrong!! The chicken was hot, the rice was fluffy, And the beans were soft, just like they should be. The salsa verde was a little bland and tasted like water blended with just hot peppers if you ask me. It's a heavy dish and I'm used to having some kind of pickled side vegetables as a Korean (like cultido?) but I realize this isn't always the standard for some cuisines. Anyway, all of what I ate for $9 was too good. I'll be coming back as long as the establishment continues to fight the status quo of this ever spiraling country.“

“Saludos a mi tía (twice removed) que trabaja aquí, y a lo otros trabajadores también, the food is pretty good, my only issue is the security at this place, there is no form of protection, the area can be pretty dangerous at times, so I am just concerned for the safety of the employees, sometimes the people that work here need help...“
