“I've been here a few times over the years. Yesterday was a take out order. Every time I come here I have to remind myself to return soon. If you like Katz Deli or any of the other famous city deli places, then you'll have to come here. This place doesn't need all of the bells and whistles. It has the best sandwiches without any complications. The best pastrami I've ever had. My first time here was over thirty years ago. My sandwich Yesterday was just as good as then. When my mother was alive it was a special treat when I'd bring her a corned beef sandwich, Cole slaw and a pickle. I need to come back soon. Great job!“

“First time here. Read great things about this place so wanted to try. There were 8 people ahead of us but the line seemed to move pretty fast and the vibe I got was that you should know what you want before you make it to the front of the line. We got plain, cinnamon raisin, rye, and everything. The size of the bagel was smaller than what you’d normally see but the doughiness and freshness was great (the cinnamon raisins had just come out of the oven). I’m not complaining about the size because i think bagels are typically too big and I usually cut it in half and save it for later but this was a perfect size. Would definitely come back.“

“Not just great pizza... there's so much on the menu! Our favorite: Teddy's Moroccan vegetarian cigars with his incredible homemade hummus on the side. (Warning: after tasting this hummus, you will never be able to eat store-bought hummus again!) He also makes and bottles his own hot sauce, Tadmore, which is excellent! “We last visited Fireside shortly after it opened several years ago. It appears to have reacted to the recent advent of very expensive restaurants in the area by upgrading the menu and prices. We ordered the 19-oz steak with “upgraded” Fireside fries (the included side dish is only standard fries) and the Pastrami Steak. The 19-oz was excellent, cooked medium-well as ordered, and the fries were worth the $7 additional cost. The pastrami steak tasted great, tender as well as crispy with a delicious sauce… but each of the 3 slices was nearly 50% fat. I piled up mounds of carefully dissected fat and pointed them out when the waiter asked how we were enjoying our meals. I did not make an issue of it, but she insisted that she would notify the chef. A few minutes later, she returned with a plate containing 1 1/2 additional slices. I appreciated this gesture tremendously.For dessert we had chocolate mousse, which was lovely, and the cinnamon bun, which was possibly the best dessert I’ve ever eaten. And the presentation was delightful, with the vanilla/strawberry sauce artfully cascaded over the bun when served.The cost is daunting, but we would definitely return for a special celebration (or if we are given another gift certificate as on this occasion). But I will order something other than the pastrami steak.“

“This restaurant has a beautiful event room downstairs, perfect for small to mid-size parties and events. We had a work party there. The food was really good and the service was amazing. I got a steak. It was cooked well and very tasty. We all had a great time!“
