“I’m in the area for just one night and needed to figure out where I could get a quick dinner. I saw Sophie’s Bistro and after getting a recommendation from a colleague, I made a reservation. It’s a really casual place; not pretentious in any way, but the bartender was both talented and conversational and made something off menu to enjoy. For dinner, I decided on French Onion Soup and Steak Frites and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Besides this, the bread service they bake in house is amazing and I learned about the owner and how he treats his people and that made me even happier that I came in. I wish we had a place like this where I live; I would be there all the time. I’m not sure when I’ll be back in the area, but next time I’m near Somerset, I know where I’ll do dinner. Give it a try, you’ll be happy“

“Coming here for years. Some food items have gone down in quality, namely the pork chop and mac and cheese. Pork chop used to be really cooked to perfection and moist, however lately it has been dried out and overcooked. Mac and cheese lost the amount of cheese it usually has on it, and noodles were undercooked the previous two times. Must have changed the cooks in kitchen, who knows.“

“Went at Water & Wine Restaurant for the first time last night and loved the food and atmosphere. I felt like I was Italy while dining. Went there with the family; I had ordered the Truffle Fries for the table, House-Made Sheep's Milk Ricotta Gnocchi for myself for an appetizer (it was a special they were offering), then for the entre I had the filet mignon. The ricotta with the gnocchi was so amazing that this dish should be an entre and not an appetizer. The filet was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Highly recommend dining here!! “We moved to Basking Ridge 4 years ago and found Red Oak Grille next to our rental. It reminded us of our favorite go to restaurant in Texas and it never disappoints. On our last visit our waitress was busy and to our surprise she comped our first beverage order due to a delay in taking our order. Who does that?! If you have not gone to Red Oak Grille I highly recommend you go as soon as you can! As it gets warmer make sure you sit out on the deck and take in the beautiful golf course views! “A nice casual place with decent food. Nothing special but we wanted to try a new restaurant. I wouldn't rush back but we had a nice relaxing dinner. Chicken Parm was good, the meatball appetizer was okay. It's a limited menu but they also have a specials menu. Their pizza looked good and steak frites were a hit. It's more expensive than it should be but not unreasonable. The atmosphere is good and overall their service was good.“

“Great selection, clean, open, easy to navigate so I can get in and out quickly when buying nice wine as a gift. Open easy parking lot with less risk of crashes than nearby liquor stores! I drive an extra 10 minutes to this liquor store because it’s so much less stressful“

“Great meal overall. Chips and guac were expensive, $15. Limited chicken items other than fried chicken(which my partner got and loved), and a chicken quesadilla. Ended up getting the kale salad which was AMAZING. Best kale salad i've ever had, and can't stop thinking about it. Service was great too, and very friendly and quick. Fun ambiance, always busy. “4.5. Nice cocktail menu, food is always good, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. They will take special requests if they are able to. It is not a Michelin star restaurant, if that is what you are looking for, but it is a hidden gem in Westfield. The food is always fresh and there is an eclectic feel of the restaurant itself. My wife and I have dined here several times without a complaint and the staff is always friendly. It is our go-to as a last minute option as it seems to be underrated and a reservation is usually not needed. The other plus is that they are open slightly later than other establishments in the area.“

Our server did not check on us once we had to continuously wave her down to get her attention to get more food and drinks. The servers need to make sure they check on the customers more often. Also have a better attitude, our server was not warm and friendly. We were left for 30 minutes unattended, and then we had to waive her down always to order more stuff.“
