“‘The Freakin Rican’ rocks! I got a Pernil Sandwich with fries and a Guanabana drink. I loved how warm the food was and how natural the drink was. The Spanish music was amazing. The atmosphere was amazing. I even loved the aesthetic of the restaurant! Definitely planning to comeback??!“
“Delicious and authentic Puerto Rican food. The yellow rice is soft and tasty; it is very well made. The pernil is also very well cooked but does lack a bit of seasoning, it still taste good but I think they cook can add a bit more seasoning to it and it will be PERFECT! I always feel like I am back at home whenever I order from Mis Raices.“
“Great place with lots of food variety. True PuertoRican food. Good price and friendly staff.Parking: If you are lucky, you can find parking on the street. There’s lots of traffic in the zone and people drive carelessly. Have to be careful crossing the streets.Wheelchair accessibility: Not easy for wheelchair.“
“Had an amazing dinner with my husband at the very friendly, hospitable, and professional Counter & Bodega restaurant. I made 5:30pm reservations, but they accommodated us an hour early with a smile. Bryan and Joanna are the best. They take such great pride in the food and service they provide. The ambiance, along with Hector Lavoe playing, made us feel like we were back in Grandma and Titi's house as kids, waiting for a tasty pastelle and a sneak swing of Coquito. No le digas nada a mami si no quiere fuete. Best dinner and time we had in a long time. Book a reservation, you won't be disappointed.Dietary restrictions: They made sure there was no dairy in any of my food due to my allergies.“
“Let me tell you.. I've tried so many Dominican and Colombian restaurants in Paterson and no chicharron can compete with this Puerto Rican food truck. And this is coming from a Haitian woman who KNOWS how to cook slamming food, respectfully!“
“Amazing whole in the wall spot. I'm puertorican, and it's hard to find a good boricua place in NJ. This place is great. The food is great, and the service is outstanding. They treat their customers like family, and the prices are good. I definitely recommend this spot!“
“Yes yes and yes. Love this food truck. I try alot of places and this is now on my top 5. The lechon is amazing juicy, the bacalauito is so good.... flavor and all perfect crunch, the tostones de panas so good nice crispy while soft inside the sauce that comes with it omg amazing flavor. The yucca was soo good. I Also had a passion fruit pina coloda that was super good not to sweet just perfect. Definitely recommend this place for authentic flavor and amazing customer service. Super friendly and care for there customers. Very affordable. The photos I attached I already ate from.“
“Space is limited, if possible I recommend buying to go. However, we were a group of 6 and the ladies kindly helped us accommodate two tables. The food was delicious, and the portion was more than enough. Perfect to get out of the fast food routine to eat something more homemade. I would definitely go again“
“Constantly eating here whenever I can. They are so good it's hard for them to keep food til a certain time. Their acapurias are the bomb and so are their regular meals, but if you want any fried goods go before 1230pm or chances are they will be sold out.“
“I recently visited Sofrito in Harlem with friends for a delightful dinner and drinks experience. The ambiance, with views overlooking Riverside Drive and the water, was truly breathtaking. Plus, their valet parking for only $20 was a convenient perk given the area's parking challenges. Now, onto the main event – the food! I opted for the whole pernil with rice, beans, and sweet plantains, priced at $40. The portion size was generous and utterly satisfying. We also indulged in their chicken, beef, and Cuban empanadas, all bursting with flavor. Personally, I couldn't get enough of the beef and Cuban varieties. The Chuletas De Cerdo were juicy and impeccably seasoned, while the chicharrón de pollo and carne frita were equally enjoyable. The atmosphere, enhanced by a DJ spinning classic and current hits, made for a memorable experience. While the service was quick, we felt a bit rushed out by our server(s), which was slightly disappointing. Additionally, some dishes were a touch too salty for my taste, and the tables near the windows felt a bit cramped. However, despite these minor drawbacks, I would still highly recommend Sofrito for a fantastic dining experience in Harlem.Parking: $20 for valet“
“I decided I wanted some Puerto Rican food before heading back to Maryland after attending a concert at Prudential Center. Looked online and found Taino's Kitchen. The food and ambiance were great. I tried papas rellenas, alcapurias, and pastelillos or empanadas. Great flavor and their mayoketchup was delicious. Me and my gf had the pernil with arroz con gandules. The pernil was very good alone. I do like adding additional sauces so I def added the pique and mayo ketchup to sauce it up some. We also ended up drinking Guanabana which was so good. For desert we ordered tres leches and the Flan de coco which were amazing. We decided to get 10 empanadas de carne for the road. Everything was great. Staff was friendly. If I am in the NJ, I will be coming back.“
“Family-friendly restaurant. Great food, friendly staff & amazing atmosphere. Empanadillas are on point! My husband enjoyed the Chuleta & I killed my order of Bistek Encebollado ? We love it here and will come back for more! Kid-friendliness: Kids enjoyed their food, so it was a great lunch dining experience.“
“Went here for breakfast and we are coming from 35 minutes away just to try their Puerto Rican breakfast and this place did not disappoint what so ever. The food came out fast and hot. We had (which l'II picture) two coffees, oatmeal (avena), ham and cheese sandwich (with the works) and a breakfast platter. This reminded me sooooo much of breakfast from the island. We enjoyed all of it and we will definitely come back out to try lunch & dinner food as well. But we wanted auth pr breakfast and that's exactly what we go. Not many around like this.I wish they would update the restaurant a little bit, it's a bit outdated and it has so much more potential for a nicer ambiance.“
“First time trying this location and hands down it was what I wanted! Their arroz con gandules is a must their breaded chicken is juicy and tasty and their empanadas are good. Two plates of breaded chicken with arroz con gandules plus empanadas and soda came out to $32 and change. Not bad for what we asked for it's a must if you're in the Hudson county area and want a warm Spanish dish“
