Why don't these local roasters sell sample packs, allowing you to still purchase a pound of beans, but separated into small batches with samples of each bean type? “Definitely a five star experience!!! We arrived just before happy hour ended (4-5:30) and they were kind enough to place a quick order of oysters!!! They were super fresh and delicious... favs were west coast (sorry NJ). Next, came the Parker rolls!!! Probably my favorite part of the meal, but then again, who doesn't like homemade, freshly baked rolls with buttered top and a touch of salt!!! Because everything looked so good, we opted for a bunch of other appys to start! The New Zealand angus beef bites were served with horseradish aioli and a Parker roll, the halloumi cheese was accompanied by orange slices, prosciutto, radicchio and dehydrated olives. The octopus was spectacular... crispy with romanesco sauce, fried chickpeas, cilantro and paprika breadcrumbs. Of course, we had to also try the OHS mussel pot... with chorizo, saffron, garlic cream, sun dried tomatoes... and an herbed garlic roll on top!!! LOVED THEM ALL! It's not often that so many different, but complimentary flavors are presented in each dish!!! We could have stopped our meals there and would have been pleasantly satisfied and full! Next, we chose a couple of the sirloin sandwiches with fries, and the squid ink pasta with Calabrian chili and Meyer lemon breadcrumbs!!! All was very good. The evening was finished with 3 of their delicious desserts... the lemon meringue tart was the perfect sweet with a pucker. The molten dark chocolate cake was decadent. And the trio of gelatos were each so uniquely flavorful and delicious! Wow!!! Given that 100 steps is a BYOB, it makes everything even more affordable! We had spectacular service in this beautiful restaurant with amazing food! It was quite a special evening!“

“The Carriage House Restaurant is literally steps from the PaperMill Playhouse. Great to stop in prior to a performance. The atmosphere is best described as "cozy and rustic". I've stopped in about 2-3 times for drinks and appetizers. The food has always been very tasty. Little on the pricey side. On a positive note, you're only a few steps away from the theater. As of now, I've had Chicken Sausage Appetizers and a Steak Quesadilla. Nice wine and cocktail list. We've enjoyed their wine and cocktails on a previous visit. In December '23, I had an issue making reservations. Left two telephone messages and never received a call back. I couldn't even make a reservation on Opentable or Resy. We stopped in and informed the hostess of the issue. Anyway, we ended up eating at the bar. The Carriage House Restaurant does offer Cabaret and Murder Mystery shows.“

Their Taylor Ham, Egg, & Cheese was really really tasty, and the Taylor Ham had a wonderful crisp to it accompanied by a lovely crunch around around the edges. The best of the two was the Corn Beef Hash Breakfast Wrap! The Corn Beef was extremely flavorful and the potatoes they added to the wrap were seasoned and tender. The Corn Beef Hash Breakfast wrap is an exemplary to-go breakfast item. I thoroughly enjoyed both! The staff is really kind, and the customer service was amazing. The ambiance is impeccable as well too, makes you want to sit down and enjoy your breakfast. I would HIGHLY recommend, Village Street Eatery, to anyone in the Maplewood area. I had heard of Indian inspired burgers and fried chicken before in Manhattan, so we decided to try this place out.\\n\\nThe place has 1 table by the window, then a bar with some chairs along the counter, and finally an area with several more tables.\\n\\nYou order at the counter, they'll ask your name, so I thought it was self pick-up, but in our case they brought the food to us.\\n\\nWe weren't sure what sauce to use on the chicken wings so we asked about the masala and the walla, as those two sounded the most special/distinct. They let us taste the sauces and we went with the walla, it's super good!\\n\\nThey didn't take long to prepare our lamb burger, beef burger (medium cooked ?) and our chicken wings, along with a side order of fries and a side order of sweet potato tots.\\n\\nThe burgers were delicious, juicy but not too messy, with a very nicely cooked thin patty full of flavor. The fries and tots were both incredible too, couldn't stop eating them! There are no waiters, tables or chairs, just a big dance floor near the stage and a bar so everybody was dancing and having fun. I think she said her name was Oré. She was super sweet and held it down, but I felt bad she had to do all that. Overall, it was a nice casual spot to grab a bite. Might be better for takeout if it gets super busy.“
