“Still having dreams about my steak, the pataras bravas, and crispy golden brussel sprouts. Our waitress gave us a dismissive nod when we requested our steak cook preference - and I guess it didn't matter because it came out perfect. The space itself is small and intimate- perfect for any kind of gathering big or small.“
“A gem in the neighbourhood. A friend and I were visiting Jersey City from South Africa and NDP was just down the road from our B&B. We had the most wonderful dinner there, with James, the owner explaining how he and his wife started the little restaurant. The food was exceptional and we were able to order a bottle of wine from a winery close by, which was delivered in minutes. Absolutely worth a visit!“
“A very cute place to have Sunday brunch! My first meal after the Jersey City marathon was right here! We weren't able to put in a reservation beforehand, but we were still able to get seated when we arrived close to noon. I had the sweet potato & andouille sausage hash withOUT the sausage. The server said he could add more brussels sprouts since someone else had requested the same before, and I agreed to it (though I wasn't too hungry and didn't care either way). My meal had a beautiful presentation. The eggs were perfectly poached and there was just enough hollandaise sauce. The brussels sprouts however just seemed undercooked flavor-wise and more could have been done to better their quality. Needless to say, I finished my plate except for the brussels sprouts. All-in-all, a great cafe in an excellent location of Jersey City---well worth the visit!“
“Went yesterday and truly enjoyed it. The ambience was great with lounge kind of set up and was very lively. The food had asian flavors and was tasty. The drinks were potent. Even the large formats were well done. The service was more casual and less professional to my taste but nothing wrong with it.“
“I've been looking forward to trying this restaurants menu items. yesterday was only the 1st, for sure. I had a shrimp po boy, perfect, packed with shrimp, just the right sauces, really good. I took home a container of their vegan lentil soup which is better than my lentil soup. that's not a small thing. beautifully balanced flavor, really delicious. I can't wait to go back and try everything else.“
“This place has a lot of place inside to sit and also has an outdoor place as well.Overall good atmosphere and party vibe, good to hang out with friends. They can do better with bar and kitchen orders where you have a stand in 2 long queues to order food and drinks“
“Reminds me of a five guys, but better since it's locally owned :) Think fast food with a small step above - they use fresh (not frozen) chicken breast for the tenders and serve poutine (aka disco fries but the cheese curds are served warm in the gravy vs on the fries).Their veg options were also great. Our new fave local burger joint!“
“I love White Star! I have been here quite a few times to grab drinks or get dinner. My all-time favorite and repeat order is their vegetarian burger, salad and fries! It’s so delicious!! You cannot miss it! Highly recommend this place if you’re in the neighborhood.“
“Do you love crepes? This is a place you cannot, CANNOT miss visiting if you do!! Crepe guru has uh-mazing to-die-for crepe options to choose from—both savory and sweet! I love their food because I have tried multiple crepes here! Fabulous and so flavorful!! And it can’t get better than ending a savory treat with a sweet one! The Nutella crepe is sinful in the truest sense! Makes me drool just thinking about it!MUST TRY if you’re in Jersey City or around the place!!Its a very small place. So I have always done take-aways because even finding parking here can be hard.“
“Pleasantly surprised with my experience at Skinner's Loft. I was searching places for brunch with a friend and stumbled upon this place to try and we weren't disappointed. I got the Pancakes (8/10) and my friend got the Salami, Pepper, and Scrambled Egg sandwich which was 10/10! He let me try it and OMG instant jealousy. I would come back over and over just for that sandwich. We also had a nice waiter who was in control of the music and we were vibing out. I would definitely recommend this spot and can't wait to go back!“
“We love going to Subia’s! We’ve been here a few times and it’ll probably be one of our weekend brunch go-to spots. Subia’s is definitely the best vegan brunch spot in New Jersey! The food is so delicious!! I love the triple decker sandwich and the blt with cheese sandwich. The breakfast wrap is also so flavourful. The staff are so friendly and nice, which makes for a great experience all around.I’m excited to try other menu items! They have a lot on their menu, more than I expected for a cafe, but everything we’ve tried so far has been great.Vegetarian options: Menu is all veganDietary restrictions: Gluten-free options“
“My daughter's wedding at Maritime Parc was fabulous. The staff was attentive, anticipated our needs, and over-delivered on the service. The food was amazing, not only the main courses which we were able to sample last month, but the appetizers offered during the cocktail hour. Finally, the location can't be beat, with the NY City Skyline just over the river. I strongly recommend Maritime Parc for a significant event like ours.“
“UPDATED 3/19/24 PM:The manager reached out and was fantastic about making this right. He said he’s investing time into improving their consistency and offered to buy me dinner to test their improvements later on. Give these guys a shot, they’re good people and do right by their customers.(2 stars) ORIGINAL 3/19/24 AM:I hate to do this but these guys just can’t get out of their own way. We order from here all the time - it’s convenient and generally has healthy options - but they cannot ever get it right. They are so inconsistent - I can’t remember the last time we didn’t have an issue with an order. Yesterday was my tipping point, they completely left out an item and my chicken came undercooked. I called numerous times to get a refund on those two items and was met with a “let me talk to my manager” with no follow up. Can’t get anything through their delivery app either.A few weeks ago we got two island bowls with undercooked hard rice. The food is good, they just aren’t consistent at all. We’d order every night from here if they could perform consistently.“
“My friend and I, who I hadn’t seen in over a year, had brunch here on Saturday 10/22 and loved it. The waiter was so amazing and gave us great recommendations. You could tell he took great pride in his job and knew the menu well. He even came to say goodbye when his shift was over. I wish I remembered his name, he is awesome! The food was delicious! Will definitely be visiting again.“
“What a fun bar! We came on a Tuesday around 9:45 just before they stopped serving food. We played darts, doted on a pup, and browsed the jukebox while waiting for our food. The Nintendo was occupied this time, but the folks playing it seemed like they were having fun. Our impossible burger was impressive--cooked perfectly and served with ultra fresh veggies. I mean that onion was CRISP. And the sauce on the honey butter Brussels could be eaten by itself with a spoon.“
“Casual brunch spot in Jersey City. The only place I could find that opened before 11AM. I think the atmosphere is better when it’s warm and you can sit outside.Place doesn’t really have any character, but the food was very good. They have brunch drink specials for $5 or $10 for a double. My friend and I both ordered Prosecco and chicken n waffles. Prosecco was $12/glass.Food was excellent. They also brought us some kind of muffin with jam which was a nice touch.“
“Today was my very first time coming here but not my last! Busy place but seated very quickly, our server Marina was very pleasant & attentive. I ordered the steak & eggs which came with rye bread and french fries but I opted for the homemade onion rings.. YUMMY!!? The music was good as well as the drinks. The only thing I didn't like was that the tables were super close together (you can hear the next person's conversation close) but other than that no complaints!! ??“
“Excellent food, great wine list and some nice piano music to go with - loved it there already a couple of times. The kitchen is genuinely American with some notchs above the usual, and if you take a few steps after dinner to digest, you'll arrive at the Korean War Memorial and a terrific view of the southern tip of Manhattan.“
“Fire & Oak is always crowded, to be on the safe side, make a reservation. We came on a weekday before 5pm so it wasn't crowded. We were seated at a corner table and the waiter arrived with water not long after. We ordered the sangria pitcher. Though the pitcher looks small, we got 6 glasses of it and I would say the pitcher was good and worth the $39. For appetizer, we had the Mac and cheese. The cheese was very runny, but the pasta was good once you let the cheese drain. We used the remaining cheese to dip our French fries. Although I don't like shoestring fries, these were actually quite good. We also had the salmon that came with only 2 shrimp. With shrimp that good, 2 isn't enough. We also had the bbq ribs which were falling off the bone. They have a bar area and the restaurant is pretty large. The bathroom is a long walk past the kitchen in the hotel hallway.“
“With delectable dishes and outstanding mixologists, this spot in Jersey City has quickly become a staple for me and my crew. Its fusion of retro charm and modern coolness creates an ambiance that's just right. Count on us to return soon for another round of mouthwatering burgers and refreshing beers.“
“TOP NOTCH!!!!We had a delicious meal and wonderful service. We were at the Bridal Market, staying at the Hyatt Regency, and this place was a super quick walk for SUPER good food and dining!!! I love the HG, but their breakfast prices were unreasonable. At City Diner, the prices are perfectly fine! Atmosphere was stellar, food was perfect, and THE CHEESECAKE was AMAZING, best I have had in years!!! Thank you for a great breakfast!!!“
“1st time @ Kitchen Step. The Food Ambiance + Service were all on point. 4 of us were seated at 6; our reserved time. there were several tables still open. Cocktails I had 2 (not my usual one) the nightly special was awesome an interesting cucumber seed mix, next was a fig cocktail (I love figs:) it was lovely. Hubby had his Espresso martini (I never understand how you can mix alcohol + caffeine) it came out with whipped cream which made it more a dessert he thought. Food: Small Plates - Crispy Brussels Sprouts - Excellent flavor mix said coconut carrot puree w/pomegranate - did not taste coconut - tasted really good. Bruschetta of Prosciutto + whipped burrata w truffle honey. Excellent! Charred Octopus - was Very Good - fingerlings w/a nice small plate. They got the right amount of Char without incinerating the poor octopus! Winter beets salad with whipped burrata - OMG Delish! The portion sizes were decent; Any less would have been too little but all satisfying. Next Large Plates 2 of us had the Lamb Chop Special - perfect medium rare a light lovely crust. Only thing chops were served atop a deep fried (I may have this wrong) crispy potato which did not affect the lambies seemed a bit oily but I ate it all! The asparagus not overcooked very good. Hubby had the salmon - OMG it was Delish he only gave up one bite - I was happy w the lamb so no jealousy. Other party had the Halibut + really liked it. I had a taste which seemed a bit bland but she loved it. Desserts! With such a good meal we had to try 2! Ricotta Zeppoles were Great! The nutella dipping sauce + cherry marmalade Delish! Much fancier then the ones @ the Italian feasts we'd get as kids! The Strawberry Shortcake was just right on. More scone like but delish w/a crumy almost crusty top then the bursts of not over sweetened strawberries.. the nutella sauce I could have drank - I usually dont like nutella. The cherry marmalade was a very tasty surprise. On most dishes the portions were just right although some like the beet salad (beautifully presented) looked smaller then it was. The ambience was a soft glow, a basic but warm non fussy interior. They had outdoor seating w/those fire heaters which look inviting. Our young helper was friendly + other then waiting once for a 2nd bottle of water all dishes were brought out appropriately paced. A manager came over to check in a couple of times - a welcoming personality. If any staff room for improvement was the hostess who was just a bit indifferent. All in all a 5 Star experience.“
“The ambiance is excellent, providing a very homey atmosphere. The staff was swift with providing service. The breakfast burrito was divine. Although there's no meat in it, I was more than satisfied with the ingredients included. The fruit on the side was fresh and delicious, as the coffee.“
“Old school as it gets! Some of the best home cooked food and soups in the tri state areaThere is nothing fancy about AstorIt is what it isOwners that care and treat you like familyAmazing prices tooCash only which sucks but againIt is what it is!Get the chicken cutlet-amazing“
“This restaurant is very welcoming not to mention overall delicious. The customer service is extremely friendly with bilingual staff for English speakers, dine in with a tv and a beautiful cultural environment. The food is always speedily prepared and top notch Mexican cuisine. I love this place, I love the workers and how friendly they are, I love the food. 10/10Kid-friendliness: High chairs provided and they are so sweet to my daughter she smiles every time she sees the owner :)“
“Monday-Friday between 1130-1pm there will be tons of children but only because the kids prefer his food over the schools or their own food. He’s very popular around that time so it’s best to place an order online or just wait before or after those times. I have been coming here for 5+ years. It’s my favorite local breakfast spot. Mr B is always happy to adjust or make accommodations. It feels like family. Thank you ? for feeding me my family and all the kids from the high school.“
“Food is pretty good large portions, cozy with a lot of activity going on, reminded me of cheers how friendly it felt. Monday jazz was so good came back for karaoke Tuesday. Red Sangria was my favorite. I will keep coming back. I had a lot of fun. I’m checking their events now. Owner Tommy told me “ I’m family now”“

“This place was so great. We went for the brunch. We had Francis as our server. He was awesome. Actually the hospitality was S-Tier (think one-punch man anime). The food was fantastic. The burnt ends (starter) just melt in ur mouth. Chris, one of the owners came by and just added to the level of the hospitality. We were well cared for. We had a round of the boots and bones peanut butter whiskey shots. Wow...that was really nice. Over all we had a great time, the food was reasonably priced and delicious, and the drinks were all worth it. We will definitely be back. Oh and they have Deviled Eggs on the menu (well it's important to me anyway ?). I'll be trying those Monday. ☺️“
“Hosted my proposal/engagement party here and it was amazing. Carmela was absolutely fantastic the entire way through. So helpful and receptive to executing my vision. Very responsive both through email and phone call. All of my guests had a great time, enjoyed the food and drinks. Bar tenders, servers, Maitre D were all super nice and pleasant. Would 1000% recommend to anyone for any event!“
“We stopped in after a show late on a Tuesday. The bartender was very welcoming, explained the menu well, and made awesome drinks. Other folks seemed to be regulars based on their interactions with each other and staff. Decor is a mix of sports bar and dive bar. We weren't expecting the spicy veggie quesadilla to have buffalo sauce--a very midwestern touch“
“I go to this place from time to time to have breakfast and i gotta say its great! The food here is delicious...they have a variety of breakfast platters that would really satisfy any customer. The service is good, only thing is that it gets packed after that early morning school rush. But other than that i really dont have any complaints. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to get great breakfast options at a great price!“
“This location of Dorrian's Red Hand is a great spot to get bar food. The bar area looked nice and plenty of seating it seemed. I did not sit in the restaurant to enjoy my food. I did take out instead. I got a grilled chicken sandwich with fries. I was pleasantly surprised on how good this sandwhich was. My waitress who took my order was nice. It also looks like this location has comedy shows. There is a private room I saw with posters up of the upcoming shows.“
“we ordered fish & chips and two orders of wings as well as chicken nuggets. all of that food was prepared surprisingly fast, and everything was delicious. the chips were my favorite. i do think the fish could use some old bay or something, but the texture was great. that won't stop us from going back :)“
“I just moved to The Beacon and this bodega is awesome. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have everything you'd need if you're moving in or ran out of something... laundry detergent, eggs, hot food, paper towels, etc. the prices are reasonable and the food portions are large. And it's just a two minute walk from any building in The Beacon. What's not to love??“
“Whenever I come home to JC, I'll be at Cherry's ? to satisfy my Fish and Grits fix. Perfectly fried, grits are the right thickness, grabbed an Uptown and now I forsee a nap in my immediate future. Good looks Trav! I travel alot of places, but the best place is always home.“
“I love this place so, so much. The food is always consistently great, except for the one time one dish was a little overcooked and the bartender/wait staff surreptitiously removed it from our bill when my date and I had only a softly spoken conversation with each other about it (great service). The cocktails are great, too, like really great. The back heated/covered patio is super cute. There are about six really great bar/restaurants I've discovered in JC, and Dullboy is near the top of that last.“
