“Really good food and atmosphere. Watch out for the automatic tip on the receipt. They didn't include it on Thursday but did on Friday. Usually I tip 20% but when places automatically add 18%, I don't tip extra when places auto tip. They also included a tip line even tho they added an auto tip lol, not falling for that trick.“

“I tried their birria tacos when they first opened (1-2 years ago), and they were good but I remember the tacos were on the smaller side compared to others I've had (e.g. Chofi in Union). Granted, they were a new restaurant and I assumed still working out some kinks. In all honesty, I ended up forgetting about this restaurant. I just ordered through Uber eats today, and the tacos were bigger than last time, tasted amazing, and delivered hot. Flavor was on point for the tacos, consome, and green salsa. Happy to add The Birria Kitchen in my rotation of local restaurants!“
“My husband and I lived in Harrison in 2019-early 2020 and this was our local taco spot. We were obsessed. We moved due to the pandemic and to this day we haven’t found better tacos than these. We compare every taco we ever have to these, hoping to find some that will compete and they never come close.“
“Finally decided to give this place a shot after having their flyer for months now, over the phone the service was great, and then when we picked up the food the guy was great talked to us bout the specials in a very friendly manner, even when we did order the food almost during closing time. “Strolling through town a wanted a little snack to go with my healthy smoothie from earlier. I walked in and was warmly greeted by a cheerful guy. After checking out the menu, I asked him what his favorites were and he made all the tacos sound so delicious. I was kinda of leaning towards a bowl, but after hearing all the taco goodness I grabbed a Cajun shrimp taco to hold me over till later.Turns out the guy I was chatting with was the owner, Todd. Really great to interact with him, super passionate about this place.Service was fast, taco was $6ish, and it was really tasty. “Silver lake CheeseSteaks and Tacos makes authentic tacos at a very reasonable price. Their glorious selection of cheesesteak options is pleasing. They also sell fresh cut fruit and deliciously baked goods. I have been going to them since the owner himself was a cook at the Newark Cheesesteak house in Newark. He now owns both locations. I prefer Silver Lake because the original chef/ now owner still cooks. That is a sign of great leadership.“
“This food is delicious and true to Dominican food! It is incredibly hard to find authentic DR/PR food in Newark area. Customers service is cool, you are greeted properly. They're usually very busy near weekends. I had the pork mofongo, the chicharron with rice and beans. Everything is flavorful and seasoned well. The portions are well rounded and filling. Price point is great. I'll definitely be back to try Empanadas, chicken etc. It's nice to finally get some real Dominican food around here! I ate it so fast I didn't take a flick, maybe next time.“

“It was Saturday cleaning & I didn’t feel like cooking... ordered breakfast, the girl on the phone was super nice and patient. They took my payment over the phone and my order was at my door 25min later after she told me 40-45min. Their tortillas were nice and fresh. Would definitely order again!“
“The Lab Truck was hired for our family cookout over the July 4th weekend. I am so glad we did they did not disappoint us. They arrived early for set up and the excitement and anticipation from my family was met with professionalism and great food exceeding our expectations. They were accommodating to everyone young and old. We took a risk trying something different and I’m glad we did. We didn’t have long hours on the grill and could enjoy the day with family. We had other dishes only by choice because like most families we always have more food than we need. I highly recommend and will use them again. It was enjoyed by all. Thank you G and Ashley.!!“
