“My husband and I come to Kim’s Sushi almost once a week and sometimes we found ourselves coming 2 times a week! We, especially I, LOVE Kim’s Sushi. I’ve never taken my business anywhere else and I find it very hard to try other sushi places since Kim’s Sushi makes exactly how I love my sushi! My favorite I use to get all the time was 2 orders of smoked salmon and recently I’ve been branching out and have been loving the volcano rolls. Previously, we had been to the gym in which I had my hair tied up but I started developing a horrible headache once we got to Kim’s Sushi. A Headache shortly turned into a migraine and that caused me having to get up and leave immediately— feeling nauseous, wanting to faint, wanting to throw up even— while my husband was trying to check up on me yet trying to pay for our bill, it was hectic! Mr.Kim was there this evening and couldn’t help but notice my hurrying out the door without my husband as frequent customers; because my husband was trying to pay the bill as quickly as he could. There was 5 of us and the staffs was very accommodating since we came on a weekday and we set right away. We started with some appetizers like the baked mussels, tempura oysters. Then we had order a few rolls, like the Neal roll, Jessica roll, tango mango roll, my favorite. Ask for their sushi roll bible! then we order a few dishes to share. The pad Thai was on point. We also had the general Tso chicken and Thai curry which is spicy and flavorful. The waiter introduced to us their signature dish that’s named after the store itself, ai Sakae beef, of course we had to try it . There was a wait of around forty minutes for our platters, but the resulting dishes were gorgeous, and most importantly, tasty.The folks here are as nice as can be and while we placed a to-go order, it seems like a postprandial froyo might be a great perk of dining in. Tap water also wasn't my favorite but don't let that prevent you from getting this great sushi. Although we couldn't have any of the sauces that came with the rolls since they had gluten, they did have GF soy sauce which was great. The server didn't have much personality and we did have to reconfirm what sauces had gluten and which didn't and had to ask for a second GF soy sauce as well even though in the beginning we did say there are two of us. Pretty empty at 5pm on a Sunday and plenty of free parking (on Sundays) around the corner.“

“This is my go to sushi spot outside of traveling to NYC. For reference, I just went into NYC last weekend to a place for omakase, have brewed my own sake, and have traveled and tried plenty of sushi places (far more expensive) via the company credit card. The fish quality here is easily on par with most places 50% more expensive. The "dinner for two" style options are a good deal and it is BYOB if you want to bring wine or sake (which I do generally when I go). The service is incredibly friendly, actually even as an introvert I am tempted to try to strike up a conversation with Mr. Bin as he seems like a cool guy, perhaps next time I will offer him a drink. Anyway, long story short, this is the best sushi spot in the area and is worth going to 100% if you are feeling sushi. Only demerit is they should be more clear on what comes with a salad as I've ordered a second salad before, and that they always offer the oysters which IMO sound expensive (I get 1$ fresh oysters when I'm in florida). But overall this is a solid five star suggestion for sushi in the area.“
“My sister and I decided last minute to go out to dinner and we landed at Toro Sushi. I actually used Google assistant to call the restaurant for me and reserve a table 15 minutes before our arrival. Toro was half full when we arrived at 7pm on a Saturday but, by 8pm it was full so, our timing was perfect. Everything we ordered was excellent... edamame, tuna avocado salad, Congo roll, New York roll, tuna roll and salmon roll. Service was wonderful. We weren't rushed and food came out quickly. In reference to another review complaining about no potato at the carving station and the timing of food being put out, everything was precisely as described on the menu posted online when you made the reservation, including seamlessly closing off some breakfast stations and opening some dinner stations at 3 o'clock. “I took my very good friend Gary to Kyoto’s to celebrate his birthday. We both had the Sushi Deluxe which was exquisite! Nancy was our server. Her service was excellent. “This is probably one of the best sushi places I've been too. They have lots of vegetarian options! The place has a nice Japanese feel. It also has ample parking in the back. It's byob and there's a wine store literally 1 block away. As for what we got. Unfortunately they don't have the lunch menu on the weekends but that is no where written in there menu. We got the vegetarian tempura. It came with different fried vegetables like broccoli, mushroom and onion. It was ok. We ordered 4 rolls and I will present them in order of my favorite. The mango potato was the best. I loved the sauce and the texture of the fried sweet potato. Next was the pineapple. I loved the sweetness without any needed added sauce to top it. Then was the bugs bunny. It has lots of veggies and a nice Chipotle sauce on top. My least favorite was the Nori jade. I felt the Avocado was too mushy. “My daughter ordered from Millburn Poke Bowl today for delivery. The food arrived quickly. I had the sushi burrito....what great value for the money. The presentation is attractive; the burrito was packed in a lidded box that almost looked like a gift. It was packed full of vegetables and rice with very generous amounts of spicy and ahi tuna. They added just the right amount of dressing/sauce. I ate half for lunch and half for dinner. I would highly recommend Millburn Poke Bowl if you want delicious, fresh ingredients and a very generous amount of them.“

While most other sushi places in the area offer very bland vegan options like a cucumber roll or avocado roll and nothing else re: rolls, Mizo sushi vegetable maki roll offers a nice combination of various textures and flavors all in one. So, a nice place to get vegan sushi in Cranford.And if you go to NYC, I super highly recommend Beyond Sushi, a fully vegan restaurant offering “gourmet” sushi experience. Minds and taste buds of both vegans and non-vegans are guaranteed to be blown away. That would be a Michelin-star grade experience.“

“It is a friendly family business. We ordered hibachi, tom yum soup, and agedashi tofu. The hibachi was okay but a bit greasy. The agedashi tofu was very greasy. The tom yum soup used celery and carrots instead of the expected ingredients (i.e. no galangal, lemongrass, or lime leaves were detected). Thankfully, the soup was not greasy. Overall, though, most of the food tasted like greasy Chinese food (with some MSG and without douchi or shitake), and I would give it fewer stars, but it was a good amount for the price, and still edible after rubbing some grease away. I suspect the sushi is better but don't like raw fish. It came within 10 minutes despite other patrons being there, including pickup orders. I wouldn't return here, mostly because we almost ran someone over while driving there, who suddenly exited his car while he was driving in the middle of the street, and the food was not my type.“

“I always get shwarma on a laffa here. It is very fresh and tastes great. The food is wonderful, but the people are even better. Last week, I was craving shwarma, so I placed an online order. I work as a paramedic, and we got busy, so I didn't make it to the restaurant until about 5 minutes to closing. That is when I realized I left my wallet back at the station. The guy who was there (I feel terrible that I didn't catch his name) told me it was fine and told me to take the food for free this time. I told him I would come back and pay the next day (which I did), but he was so super sweet about the whole situation. It was a tough night, and his kindness really made my evening. “Fresh tasting fish and not overly cold. The specialty rolls were great as well. Kids loved everything and even fought over the last salmon sashimi. The portions are reasonable. We got in around 5:15 and it was empty at least on the main floor; there was a party on the second floor where the hibachi is. It's quiet on a Thursday night.“
