“Everything about Kai Yang was beyond 5 star. The food (Panang curry, Pineapple Chicken, Tom Kha soup, and vegetable spring rolls) was OUT OF THIS WORLD delicious. We especially loved the Pineapple chicken and Tom Kha soup. The staff was always refilling our water jug quickly before being asked and the food came out promptly. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable while it's a great feel for families, friends, or couples to enjoy! We will be returning and look forward to trying other meals here in the future. You cannot go to Montclair without visiting Kai Yang. Enjoy!“
“My friend and I went on a weeknight and it was very busy! I haven't had Thai in years and was not impressed at that time. This restaurant quickly turned all of that around! The Crispy Duck salad was phenomenal and so was the Thai curry chicken dish that I ordered. Beautiful ambience and great attentive service. We sent our compliments to the chef as every thing we ate was absolutely delicious. I haven't been excited to go back to a restaurant in a long time and I would definitely recommend to everyone!!!“

“Awesome food, good service too. We went here for dinner, I ordered green curry and my friend ordered one of the shrimp curries. We also got thai iced tea and matcha latte which both tasted great. It's a good date night spot if you are looking for one. They do get packed so call ahead and reserve a table if going on the weekend.“

I've ventured out into Madison, summit, Livingston, Chatham, Montclair searching for Thai cuisine that is close to Thai cuisine in Thailand, and I found it in Springfield. NJ. So far I've had drunken noodles, pad thai, avocado curry. Vegetarian and vegan friendly. Gluten free options as well. Saturday nights are the busiest so service may be slow. Recommend going other nights if you're in a hurry. If Saturday is your only night, it definitely is worth the wait!!“

“Wonderful restaurant. Unprepossessing exterior, modest decor, fantastic food. Really, the food was delicious and everything was fresh. We had the pad thai with chicken, the red curry with shrimp, and curry puffs to start. The service was wonderful as well- our waiter was so polite. “i drove an hour and went here for the first time this past week and i can tell you it was worth it. customer service is very good they’re all welcoming and i felt comfortable and felt like i was at home. its a small restaurant, but the decorations and vibe to it is something i couldn’t miss out on. i didn’t even get to the food, the food was crazy. i don’t even like sausage but i had sausage in my food platter and it was so good. ima be coming back for sure, and i highly recommend 3 sons!“

“I love that they have more Choice of Meat than other common Thai restaurants. Usually there’s options of beef, chicken, shrimp or veggies, but here they also have calamari, crispy duck, crispy pork belly, mixed seafood (jumbo shrimp, calamari & mussels). The Drunken Noodles with crispy duck tastes very good and can’t believe it’s like a whole duck leg. The skin is crispy! I ordered 2 chili level and it’s sooo spicy so I guess next time I will go with mild, but it does tastes very good. The Crab fried rice is also yummy. Thought green curry can’t go wrong but not with beef. The beef is rough, but the curry itself is fine. I probably would avoid beef next time. Also tried the street food Kao Moo Dang which is roasted pork & crispy pork belly that we think it’s average. Would definitely come back to try something else that’s not common in other thai restaurant next time“

I have had duck at other asian restaurants and it sometimes comes out rather tough and chewy. But I had the duck birds nest here and it was alot more smooth and tender. “Would give 6 stars if possible. Great restaurant for vegetarians/vegans as they make all of their delicious dishes without fish sauce. Waiters were very courteous and never tried to rush our experience. The restaurant is decorated to make the Thai experience as authentic as possible. Celebrated a birthday there and the staff not only allowed us to bring a cake but they also cooled the cake in their fridge and presented it with candles and birthday music as well.
