“I ordered Mexican pastries and bread from this location. The servers were nice and the place is wheelchair accessible (do not know the bathroom situation). There are some high counters but you can basically see all the food available through the glass. The actual breads were pretty yummy and fresh.“
“I went back after ordering the smoked pork chops, which was good. This second time, we ordered the fried snapper with Yucca, and my son got the smoked chicken with yellow rice and beans. WOW, so tasty! I am a creature of habit. I find something good, and I stick with it.The food here is deeelicious. I can't wait to try another dish.I highly recommend Carmen's Restaurant. The yucca reminds me of my mother's cooking from Sierra Leone in West Africa.Great food. Thank you Carmen.“
“As a Neuyorican, finding good Spanish food in central jersey was very challenging until we found Poncena. The food was really good! The alcapurrias weren't my favorite but their mofongo, bistec encebollado, sancocho, yolitas, and relleno de papa were all on point! Service was good, I didn't mind waiting a bit since the food was worth the wait! Will definitely be going back! Also, for a time where inflation is at it's highest, their prices were decent.“
“Fun little place. I expected the floral decor to be in the whole restaurant but it was centered in a specific area next to the bar. The tables had touch lighting that can change color depending on the mood. The hostess and wait staff had so much energy and smiles that were contagious. The menu items have an Asian flair especially since of the apps and fried rice (chaufa) offering. I got the pacha sour, which is a pisco sour with chicha morada and lomo saltado with tender steak pieces. Others got the arroz con mariscos that had prawns, squid and mussels. The lomo quesadillas were good too and the guacamole was good with it. The side of mashed potatoe was creamy and so buttery. For dessert, we got the flan and tres leches cake. Everything was delicious and is worth coming back to try other dishes.“
“Food was very good. Had some Pernil and some special ribs. Everything was seasoned well and cooked just right. Nice to have a wide selection of all Latin dishes from many Latin countries. Service was fast since everything is already cooked.“
“We cannot return to the equator but finding this delight in NJ Plainfield makes me remember the days of family reunions, the chips, the seasoning, the ajísito de pepa, something very delicious and recommended.Parking: Parking with free spaceKid-friendliness: Quiet atmosphere“
“The food be bussin'.Authentic.Genuine.Flavorful.These are the words that I would use in describing Taqueria Maria's. We have eaten from Taqueria Maria's previously, however, that occasion called for take-out. I recall the food being rather good. However, it wasn't until we chose to dine-in at the location that we were reminded of how amazing the food is.While the menu inclined towards the Tex-Mex varietal, I can assure you that you will not be disappointed. The ambiance - the music, neutral clay tones of the walls and flooring, and the sound of sizzling food on the griddle echoing from the kitchen - really set the mood and complimented the authenticity of the food. The staff seemed very happy-go-lucky and were incredibly friendly in their service.Beginning with the complimentary nacho chips, you will be pleasantly treated with two different salsas (verde and roja). While neither were incredibly spicy on the Scoville spectrum, they both hold their individual uniqueness. The verde sauce definitely has a bigger kick than the roja, while the red sauce is delightfully flavorful - it's as if Rao's had a baby with a puree'd roasted red bell pepper. We ordered the burrito and the enchiladas plates. The burrito serving was massive and generous, being garnished with a bed of lettuce on top. Meanwhile, everything about the enchiladas plate was spectacular - from the black beans, rice, to the enchiladas themselves. The same verde sauce for the nachos now appeared to dress and gracefully bathe the pair of enchiladas, enriching it with tantalizing flavor. This spice paired perfectly with the chicken, as hints of lime and cilantro accentuated the entire profile of the meal. While the saucy beans mixed with the soft texture of the rice grains to create a satiating meal. We also ordered a side of grilled jalapenos which were made to perfection - holding the perfect amount of char, whilst retaining the satisfying crunch. If Taqueria Maria's was a bit closer, I reckon that my family and I would frequent this eatery more often. I would definitely recommend to anyone seeking a good Mexican meal, whether that be for lunch or dinner.“
“Ok, run here for the empanadas !!! They are so tasty, fresh, and humongous. 4.00 a piece and worth every penny! The tacos we ordered (Pollo) were good. I prefer a bit more flavor, but they were not bad! The waitress was very nice. I would definitely go back to try something else.“
“This was our first time trying Pollo Campero in the U.S. and was really blown away on how delicious it taste like back home in Guatemala. The Yuca fries are to die for. They are soft, moist, and crispy on the outside. The chicken was delicious and juicy. Our order came out as expected. The chicken was extra fresh out the oil.The staff here were very welcoming and helpful. The restaurant is clean, especially the two bathrooms (you will need a code from the cashier to unlock the bathroom doors), and quiet. This is located in a busy area but there is parking at the back of the restaurant!I highly recommend stopping here to grab some fresh chicken to eat!“
“Very tasty food, especially flavorful and the fried food was non greasy! Had the chicharrones that had pork, cassava and plantains and all were fried to perfection. Followed that with grilled fish rice and beans which was simple yet sumptuous. Also had chicharrones tacos that packed heat and juicyness. Excellent food, pleasant service, clean place, definitely will be a repeat customer.Parking: At rear of the establishment“
“Fantastic restaurant, really I can’t get enough of this place. Great food , service and music, will be going back for sure . Nice location with outdoor and indoor seating. The food is a nice mixture of different Hispanic and Latin culture.PS: BYOB !!!!!“
“We enjoy to go out. Last night we went to this excellent restaurant which friends told us about. We passed a lovely evening there with very good meal and a courteous stuff and a great chef. We put this fine restaurant in our phone list and we shall definitely visit again soon. We deeply recommend.“
“I have gotten a few different empanadas since working in the neighborhood from Angie's and they are so good!! I tried the chicken stew yesterday, which I asked for with yellow rice, black beans, and plantains and it did not disappoint. It was flavorful, filling, and all cooked perfectly. The prices aren't too bad too. The only thing I would ask for is better containers- I ordered takeout and the liquid from the chicken stew almost spilled out of the container all over my outfit! Otherwise I will be getting this at least once a week!!“
“Chicken tamales are awesome! Called in an order close to closing time and was kindly accommodated even though they were in the process of cleaning up and such (the owner was shucking corn when I came in!). I even added to the order while the initial one was being prepared without being made to feel that I was being problematic. Had a nice convo with the owner about the history of her place. Nice staff, clean facility and good food!“
“This place is authentic and delicious. The guacamole is made to order and is MASSIVE, comes with a huge pile of chips, it’s fantastic. And the birria tacos are fire, they come 4 to an order and the consommé it comes with is so good. A job very well done, La Raza :)“
“Went for lunch to this place, and it was great. I had the daily special, and it came with Caldo de Pata and Guatita as the main dish and loved it. It even included soda. Since then, I've ordered takeout, and it has always been great. Look forward to trying other dishes from the menu soon!!“
“Puerto Viejo Restaurant in Bound Brook, NJ, is a hidden gem of Costa Rican and Latino cuisine that often goes unnoticed. Their rice and beans are truly amazing, and I highly recommend trying the Azteca soup – once you do, you'll keep coming back.Edwin“
“Miguel is awesome!! He made sure we had superb service and felt well taken care of. We don’t get to go in dates much, but he definitely made it worthy going out tonight!! Ask for Miguel!! You won’t regret it!Parking: Super easy and convenient.“
“I WANTED TO SPEND ALL MY $$$ & BUT 80% OF THE ITEMS IN THEY'RE HOT-CASE...I WAS ABLE TO SAMPLE THE LIQUID OF THEY'RE BEEF-SOUP & THIS CHIX-IN-CREAM-SAUCE ITEM & BOTH WERE VERY TASTY...I WAS THE LAST CUSTOMER & NOTICED THAT A LOT OF THE SOUP & THE CHIX/CREAM WAS LEFT IN THE PANS...I'D COMBINE THOSE 2-ITEMS, GIVE IT A FANCY NAME & HAVE IT ON THE MENU & IN THE HOT-CASE TO SELL DAILY...THEY'RE NEW EMPLOYEE WAS GREAT, SHE'LL BE A PLEASANT ADDITION TO THE STAFF. -TDR-“
“(Translated by Google) I liked the variety and attention all delicious, just as an observation they should put the heating higher, because we felt very cold(Original)Me gusto la variedad y atención todo delicioso, solo como observación deberían poner más alta la calefacción, porque sentíamos mucho frío“
“(Translated by Google) The pupusas are very good, what is not good is the tanning of the pupusas. It is called tanning because it is tanned in vinegar and there they do it without vinegar. That is why I do not ask for tanning as it is not good. And I'm followed by the pupusas.(Original)Las pupusas son muy buenas lo q no es bueno es el curtido de las pupusas. Se llama curtido por q es curtido en vinagre y alli lo hacen sin vinagre. Por eso yo no pido curtido pues no es bueno. Y voy seguido por las pupusas.“
“I was there today for the first time and I loved the food, the place was very nice, it looked clean, a little noisy with the music very loud, but the very friendly girl turned it down but the food was very exquisite. I think I will return. I recommend tacos de birria su consume it was delicious ?“
“Food is absolutely yummy. My wife's friend recommended the place, gave us suggestions, and despite the challenge of the menu being in Spanish (thank you Google for translate!) was able to get an idea of the items. Been there 3x working through the menu and no bad choice so far!“
“I love the empanadas and the soup is amazing! The only improvement would definitely be about how the service could be more timely focused. My friend and I waited a long time just for appetizers and the place was not even half full. So if you're in a hurry be upfront. All places have good and bad days but I would love to see this place do great!“
“I absolutely fell in LOVEE with this place !!It’s super cutee with the traditional Japanese seating and the parasols hanging from the ceilingThe food is PHENOMENAL!! Their fusion makes everything deliciousI can get fresh rolls with a twist as well as empanada or tuna tartare with tostones !! You can’t beat it and not to mention I loved everything I ordered !! Absolutely will be coming back“
“Perfect, this very good place, the owner is a very good person, just like all the girls who serve, a very good atmosphere at night and during the day, I would return here, I will surely fall in love with Diana, but she has a husband and is very faithful :(“
“My wife and I had very good dishes. We don't speak Spanish, but they had a waitress that did. Friendly staff. Food was very good, and prices very reasonable considering what is going on today. They have a bar TV and music playing, but not too loud that we couldn't talk.“
“Our waiter (John) and the manger (Emerson) were so nice! We came to celebrate my friend’s birthday on a Wednesday night . The ambiance and music was so liveky. The cocktails were so yummy and the appetizers were so yummy! Thank you guys ! Great vibes !“
