“Ordered delivery from here, and the food was fantastic! The pancit was flavorful and had plenty of meat, and the Shanghai was delicious and fried crispy! Even for a delivery order, everything was fresh and not soggy! I'll definitely order from here again.“

“An interesting twist to elevate and evolve Filipino food. Some dishes were top notch, straight up deliciousness, while other dishes were lacking in quality. Let’s start with their drinks. They have a nice happy hour with $10 sangria and some cocktail options. I enjoyed the calamansi margarita. It was sweet, sour, spicy and strong. The ube cocktail, not a part of their happy hour, was like an ube milkshake - so tasty. Now the food. I was with a group of friends so we got to sample a few dishes. The skewer sampler was good. The sauce and the way the meats were cooked were perfect. The nori spam fries was a little disappointing and gimmicky. It was literally just spam cut in the shape of fries. There wasn’t any change in the taste of a regular spam. The nori truffle fries weren’t anything too special. It was tasty, but nothing new. The beef bone marrow salpicao was chef’s kiss delicious. The soft shell crab palabok was probably my favorite dish. The palabok was traditional but the fried soft shell crab added a salty, briney, crispy addition to a very traditional dish. I plan to order this every time I’m here with a group of people. The biggest disappointment for me was the bagnet kare kare which is a traditional kare kare sauce (fantastic) but with a crispy pork belly instead of a stewed oxtail. The pork to me was chewy and dry. It was either overcooked or stale because it also had a strange taste.A couple of the dishes were real knockouts so I’m interested in tasting a few of the other dishes on the menu. I’d love to try the short rib kare kare, the sinigang, and the bulalo next time. The staff was very nice. The bartender makes killer drinks. The inside has a dark and sexy but casual vibe.As a filipino, I love supporting filipino businesses. Also as a filipino, I’m a purist when it comes to filipino food, so I’m always a little reluctant trying filipino fusion or modern-takes to filipino cuisine, but this restaurant had plenty of dishes where I tasted both nostalgia and innovation, so I absolutely plan to come back to check out the other dishes.“

“Have you ever wanted food that takes you back ‘home’? That brings back wonderful memories and tastes that only mom could make? Well, that’s what you will experience at Japino. The best of both worlds - Filipino and Japanese cuisine. You see, the owner, Kim, brings both worlds together in her cooking because of her background. My daughter ordered Udon, my wife, Yakisoba, and I ordered Pork Adobo over rice. Wow!!! And although her Pinakbet had run out by the time we arrived, Kim brought out what she had reserved for herself for me to have some! From the very first bite, we were all speechless. We just had to relish in the delicious flavors that we were tasting! We were each so impressed that we had to share with each other our dishes. And Kim makes you feel at home, treating you like she was mom for our time there. No precooked meals. She cooks it right then and there. Wow, just thinking about our whole experience makes me want to go back for more. Unfortunately, we came from PA 2 hours away, but if we happen to be in the Fair Lawn, NJ area, you can be sure we will be swinging by for Kim’s home cooked food again! We even ordered some more food to bring it back with us to PA. ?If you live nearby, be sure to try Kim’s awesome dishes and wonderful hospitality. You will not regret it. Why such a long review? Because I was so amazed by our complete experience, I wanted to hug Kim for a wonderful time. She said instead of a hug, she asked for a wonderful review. I hope this review makes her feel like she got an appreciative hug. And I hope this makes you want to try Japino. Please tell Kim we sent you?“

“Food is good and service is great. The pork adobo (4/5) was the best thing I ate here - the pork was well cooked and had excellent flavor with the broth. The sigsig (4/5) was okay but at times difficult to eat with the very chewy bits. The papaya salad (4/5) was solid. Overall great food and nice service.“

“This cozy little place has the biggest flavors in the city. I've been here several times and had delicious meals on both occasions. The first one was a completely new experience for me: eat with your hands Filipino style. The food was terrific, and the staff helped everyone feel at home. The second was a typical sit-down dinner and also did not disappoint.Check them out if you're looking for authentic Filipino flavors, friendly staff, and good vibes. Thanks, Henry!! xoxo :)“

“This is the best food in the area. I always like to come here for breakfast brunch or lunch. I lived down the street from here 3-5 years ago and always stopped by and I still go even though I don't live in the area. The beef tapas tapsilog is very delicious and nutritious. Great after a gym workout or a night out. Savory. Friendly & quick service. This place is a gem. Good vibes.“

Sierra Madre Food Mart Filipino • $
28 E Main St, Bergenfield - 8.12 miles

“Better than neighboring Filipino markets. Not sure what the other reviewer said about it not being maintained - the products are organized in the aisles, the cafeteria is clean and the food is very tasty. Get here early for the Dinakdakan - it's a must have. The Sisig, while not sizzling, is fantastic to take home and re-fry or have as-is. The selection of products is varied enough, though they have enough space to expand to carry far more products - and hopefully they do in the future. The workers and owner are all super friendly and always have a smile on their faces.“

“ALL his Filipino food id delicious and his prices are so cheap. I just can't believe how much great delicious food he gives away. For example, a combo is white rice with 2 sides of meat dishes that ge has at the buffet, only $7.50 now. It just went up 50 cents from $7 a couple months ago and that's still a steal. I love this spot.“
