“Crispy pata here is so good! Kare Kare is a must try here since they they leave peanut chunks on the sauce plus the veggies are fresh and it’s up to you to mix them up when you’re ready to eat. Halo-halo was ok, missing kaong and nata de coco but overall it’s still good since they had ube halaya and leche flan on it.“
“Authentic Filipino meals are not easy to come by, but Max's restaurant comes prepared with some of the best meals I've had in a while!!! Our server was PJ, super friendly and helped my Lola (Grandma) feel like family ?!! We had a slight hiccup when Lola ordered a meal with pork in it, but PJ wanted to help us fix it with no hassle, and we're extremely grateful! The service, atmosphere and food are all top notch, and we were absolutely spoiled, so go enjoy a great meal with some amazing culture ?!Parking: Not the restaurant's fault, but the location itself has a small lot dedicated to another restaurant and a small grocery store.“
“Have you ever wanted food that takes you back ‘home’? That brings back wonderful memories and tastes that only mom could make? Well, that’s what you will experience at Japino. The best of both worlds - Filipino and Japanese cuisine. You see, the owner, Kim, brings both worlds together in her cooking because of her background. My daughter ordered Udon, my wife, Yakisoba, and I ordered Pork Adobo over rice. Wow!!! And although her Pinakbet had run out by the time we arrived, Kim brought out what she had reserved for herself for me to have some! From the very first bite, we were all speechless. We just had to relish in the delicious flavors that we were tasting! We were each so impressed that we had to share with each other our dishes. And Kim makes you feel at home, treating you like she was mom for our time there. No precooked meals. She cooks it right then and there. Wow, just thinking about our whole experience makes me want to go back for more. Unfortunately, we came from PA 2 hours away, but if we happen to be in the Fair Lawn, NJ area, you can be sure we will be swinging by for Kim’s home cooked food again! We even ordered some more food to bring it back with us to PA. ?If you live nearby, be sure to try Kim’s awesome dishes and wonderful hospitality. You will not regret it. Why such a long review? Because I was so amazed by our complete experience, I wanted to hug Kim for a wonderful time. She said instead of a hug, she asked for a wonderful review. I hope this review makes her feel like she got an appreciative hug. And I hope this makes you want to try Japino. Please tell Kim we sent you?“
“This place was pretty good, service was not so good. My husband ordered fried milk fish but we ended up finishing the meal without the fish. We ended up cancelling it since we never got it. We also ordered sweet and sour pampano and oxtail sinigang. Both were good but the oxtail sinigang had 1 big oxtail, and 3 small ones. I DONT THINKIT WAS WORTH $28, not worth the price.“
“Probably one of the best if not the BEST Filipino food and grocery places that I have ever tried. Being Filipino, I can say I have tried numerous other Filipino restaurants and I do not say this lightly. The food here is top notch and you will NOT be disappointed. Staff are all friendly and kind and patient with me (especially since I am so indecisive!). I definitely recommend their food and the entire establishment. Every time I come there I’m always greeted with a smile and the smell of amazing food always brings me joy. Hopefully you can have the similar if not same experience as me!“
“Just visiting new york and craved some filipino food. And saw this online while browsing some restaurants. Been a trip going here but it’s all worth it. The food was very great and came out so fast too. Best decision before flying back home.“
“ALL his Filipino food id delicious and his prices are so cheap. I just can't believe how much great delicious food he gives away. For example, a combo is white rice with 2 sides of meat dishes that ge has at the buffet, only $7.50 now. It just went up 50 cents from $7 a couple months ago and that's still a steal. I love this spot.“
“First time here. Didn't know what to order, so i looked at pics people posted and got what looked good. Food took almost 45 minutes to come out, but it was pretty good. Service is pretty non-existent unless they taking your order or dropping off your food. I would love to try more of the food here though. Just have to have lots of free time.“
“Ordered delivery from here, and the food was fantastic! The pancit was flavorful and had plenty of meat, and the Shanghai was delicious and fried crispy! Even for a delivery order, everything was fresh and not soggy! I'll definitely order from here again.“
“Delicious food, great service, and amazing prices! So nice to have a taste of the Philippines here!Cash only, but atm is available across the street by barber shop. Parking lot available but small and tight.Got the chicken bbq and chicken adobo. Soooo flavorful and not over salted. You can tell it’s homemade with love. Definitely going back. Wish I found it sooner so I could enjoy it more!Parking: Small and tight lot“
“Kabayan isnt just a restaurant its also a Filipino grocery store as well. The turo-turo here is jumping and always fresh. You will never be disappointed with all of the choices you have to select from. They've stepped up their game and put in some new fridges and freezers to hold an amazing array of fresh and frozen Filipino groceries. Check it out and support our kababayan and local Filipino business owners who provide a great selection of Filipino staples.Parking: Street parking and additional parking next to the building.“
“The place is cozy and they even have Pinoy Christmas song on the background. My son & I ate here before heading to Manlapan Township for Gilas Basketball tryout. Ate was extremely nice & hospitable to us. Love the decors around the wall. The food was tasty & "Lutong Bahay" a Turoturo style.Parking: Find parking spot could be tough, good luck finding spots near by the restaurant.“
“This is the second time I try filipino food (first one is Jollibee). I ordered roast chicken and a kind of soup which looks like cutry. For me, They are all fantastic and affordable! Roast chicken is juicy and sweet (I love sweet). Service is okay, sometimes cannot hear their speaking clearly.“
“Tita Dang (the owner), Kuya Mar and all of the workers are accommodating, friendly, always willing to go above and beyond ensuring that the food that you ordered is more than satisfying. Tita Dang makes the restaurant atmosphere and ordering experience very welcoming as if you’re coming from your aunt’s and uncle’s home ready to eat quality Filipino home cooking. The chicken afritada, pork menudo, and fried whole chicken are outstanding and are their specialties you won’t be disappointed at all! Family and I keep coming back for more when we’re hitting that crave! Thank you Tita Dang!Kid-friendliness: Plenty of kid-friendly dish options“
“I like the black rice Biko(sticky rice with brown sugar) because it’s not overly sweet and hot food is pretty good too. However, it’s hard to know what you’re paying beforehand because they don’t include price tags. I’d recommend including pricing of each item so customers know what they’re paying!I do like how they include the ingredients which helps customers make decisions when they can’t eat a certain ingredient.“
“This is the best food in the area. I always like to come here for breakfast brunch or lunch. I lived down the street from here 3-5 years ago and always stopped by and I still go even though I don't live in the area. The beef tapas tapsilog is very delicious and nutritious. Great after a gym workout or a night out. Savory. Friendly & quick service. This place is a gem. Good vibes.“
