“A hidden gem. Authentic Irish inn atmosphere. (Well, I have never been to Ireland, but it seems to be authentic.) Consistently fresh and delicious food. Service at the tables is excellent, but there is a lively bar scene, for the those inclined. Try the shepherds pie.Parking: If you park on the other side of route 46, there is no stop light. In New Jersey, stopping for crossing pedestrians is optional!“
“Moved to Lake Hopatcong less than a year ago and still exploring the area. Went to McKenna's for the first time. What a welcoming atmosphere. Food was good, people were very friendly. Bob, the owner, bought a round of drinks and Kim, the bartender, was attentive and personable. 5 stars all around! Will definitely go back.“
“We eat here regularly. Always get seated promptly. Friendly host and servers. The food is fresh and hot. Traditional Irish fare and American standards. I do not drink, but friends say the beer selection is fine. I definitely recommend this restaurant.Parking: Street parking on Denville Bloomfield Avenue is sometimes challenging. If you park on Main Street, behind the restaurant, use the rear entrance.“
“I’ve been to a lot of pubs on the east coast, but this one is special. Authentic pieces of Ireland inside and the atmosphere puts you setting in a pub in Dublin.Great place and staff. Food was fresh and served proper. We had the Rusty Irishman drink “ like an old fashioned” and came back a second day to enjoy another round. Great place to rest up and enjoy the east coast before headed into the city. I would recommend a stop and rest over.“
“Vegetarian options: Salads and soups and whatever the chef will add onto the menu for the arghhhhhhhhhh Veggie nuts!Kid-friendliness: This is not a playground ,it,s a family restaurant /Bar , They have a menu for the kids ,You want a playground take your kids to a nice park ! People come here to eat and drink and mingle with friends and don,t want to hear your kids screaming and carrying on , If you can't control your kids and their running and screaming all over the place ,A leprechaun will come out of the back and beat them silly with his Shalalie and the locals will use them for Dartboard practice !Wheelchair accessibility: park right in front“
“Surprisingly good Irish food. We stopped in on a random Wednesday night while staying in the area. There was some bingo going on and it was not very crowded. I always feel the need to try corned beef or a Reuben any time I visit any Irish eatery. I asked the server how the Reuben egg rolls (yes Reuben egg rolls!) were and she said they are a big hit. So I got those as an appetizer and they were very good and something very unique. I also had the burger with corned beef on it and it was cooked perfect and the corned beef had just the right amount of tang to it. My daughter loved her fries and mozzarella sticks and filled up on those before she even got to try her Mac and cheese. Overall the food was delicious, the server was incredibly friendly and helpful and was extremely patient with a 4 year old that was a bit fussy from traveling all day. I'll certainly return the next time I'm in the area.“
