“West Cork Union Hall formerly known as Arlenes has a very special place in my heart. It was one of my old haunts from my days on Staten Island and it is the location where I met my wife.It is a locals working class bar, plenty of beer and whiskey. There is a restaurant/take out joint next door that you are welcome to enjoy there. The service is great and the best part is their outdoor patio in the back of the bar.Plenty of seating and they have live music on occasion. Street parking is available.“
“Very grateful for Joyce’s tavern and their staff. We were able to enjoy a great meal in between viewings for my grandpas wake around back at Scalias.Joyces was ready for all 25+ of us. Ken was behind the bar and served us quickly. The wait staff was amazing and brought out the food as quickly as we ordered it to ensure we made it back for the next session. The food was amazing as always. Corned beef was the #1 ordered item and everyone was blown away.Thank you Joe, Joe and Kenny“
“Delicious food! My friends and I came here for the Bachelor finale on a Monday night and they had it on all the tvs plus a large projector in the back room which was great! PROS: 1. Best mozzarella sticks I've ever had, each stick had a nice thick piece of mozzarella, they were crispy, marinara dipping sauce was tasty as well 2. Delicious chicken tenders, classic diner style, wide and flat pieces of chicken, crispy, just how I like em! 3. Large projector screen in the back room with speakers, we had no problem seeing or hearing the Bachelor! CONS: 1. The service was pretty slow, it seemed like there was only one server there who was also the bartender but since this was on a Monday night, it's probably not usually as busy as it was when I went Besides the food I mentioned, we also had the garlic/butter pretzel with beer cheese and mustard which I enjoyed but the rest of my group found that the cheese was weird and not typical beer cheese. We also got Mac and cheese balls which I didn't try so can't comment and for dessert we had the smores brownie which was basic, I probably wouldn't get it again. Overall, I definitely want to come back, it's only been one day and I'm already craving the chicken fingers and mozz sticks“
“A small bar/restaurant for one of the best burgers in town. The service can be improved but it's understandable considering the crowds and the patrons depending on the night. It tastes the best when you have the burger there but if you want to be in and out, take it to go. It's never disappointed“
“Really cool pub in the financial district, beloved by those who work and live there. We were there for a work gathering of 100 ppl, and we had run of the place. Servers were amazing, and our food (sliders and tiny shepherds pies) and beverages (bar service) were on-point.“
“Immediately I knew this place was special. The ties to NYC and 9/11 run deep. I had a tuna melt which was open faced, and my husband had the Reuben. No pics because we ate everything before considering pictures. You will not be disappointed here. The service was great and the ambiance is special. If I'm ever in NYC again, I'll be back.“
“Terrific Irish pub. My colleagues and I stopped by after a late night project. They have 22 beers. Lots of other drinks. Food was standard fare but very good. Generous portions. You have to get up and look around the pub. The ceiling above the bar, the statuary and the stained glass were just a few of the neat items at the Wicked Monk. Our waitress and the bus boys were awesome!“
“Why would yelp say Leif is closed? Shows youre as useless as teats on a bull yelp. Great bar, amazing bands like the Electrics, Hellor High Water, Bill Kirchen, Panama Dead, Headin South, Rock Farm, Mike Falsarano....This is South Brooklyns best music bar, with a large backroom and outdoir area attached. Closed my Irish butt.“
“It's a shot and a beer baseball bar. They only have snacks. Family owned for over 40 years. Local watering hole. Good people.Vegetarian options: Hot pretzelsKid-friendliness: NoWheelchair accessibility: Not great but doable through the back door.“
“I loved it! My first visit despite leaving in the area and seeing this place. I stopped by on my way back home after missing my train stop because I felt asleep on my way back from work, I had to walk a long distance back to my neighborhood because trains ran on express track due to an unfortunate incident. I was supposed to have only one drink, I chose Moscow Mule. After a long while, I tasted UFO and "kept" Irish Cider, I liked it! Great play music, English and Spanish, I might come back to karaoke tonight despite working tomorrow and getting up st 5:30 am. No food though, only pizza, no kitchen here. Management, how about serving popcorn, "chicharrones" (easy to find in this neighborhood), or any other "salty snack" upon request to keep us drinking??? That's the way we do in Mexico at the "cantinas" (bars"). i don't want to go home just blocks away!!!“
“Good Vibe and Good People. Always positive energy while staying true to its personality over time. You get a true glimmer of local culture within the heart of 'true" South Brooklyn when you enter. That local sense of cool you can't describe in words.“
“First time coming here but the service and the vibes were very fun. The place has a lot of room for tables which is nice when coming with a large party of people. Bartenders catered to our needs and made our experience very memorable. Will definitely come here whenever we visit the “
“Kitty's, aka the twilight zone! I say that because it has its own identity, unlike other bars in the area. I'm a big fan of the relaxed atmosphere that it has. The bartenders are always friendly, the beers are always cold and the toilet always flush!! Keep it up!“
“A great neighborhood bar and restaurant. I had ten people over for a pre-St. Patrick's day get together. Decided to order take-out from O'Neill's. Several of the guests requested substitutions, additions, and omissions to a few of the orders. The waitress on the phone was courteous, thorough and knowledgeable. Our orders were perfect. In addition, everyone at the party loved their burgers, entrees, and sandwiches. When we arrived a little early for pick up, how delightful it was when we were offered a free drink! O'Neill's made my family get together even more special.“
