“Our Go To restaurant for fine French dining in New Jersey. We have been dining at Chez Catherine for more than 30 years. We have never been disappointed. Upon entering, we are greeted by a friendly host/maitre'd/waiter. He greets you with humor. The dining room is small but there is plenty of space between tables. There is a nice cocktail list and wine by the glass. We opted for a bottle of wine from their extensive collection. There is wine for every budget ranging from $50 to $1750. The menu is prix. fixe with either a 3 course or 4 course option. A few of the items have an up charge. The meal began with a basket of delicious french bread sourced from a local bakery along with an amuse bouche of apricots stuffed with brie. My wife had mussels and I had the steak tartare ($5 up charge). Both were outstanding and the portions were large. For entrees my wife chose the duck breast and I had the cassoulet. Both were delicious, and I took about half of my cassoulet home. For dessert, the souffle of the day was raspberry and we both selected the souffle. We look forward to our next trip.“

“Cool place for a pint and nachos. There was a live band in the area by the entrance, but if you're sitting anywhere near there you can barely hear yourself speak. The place is pretty big and there are bars in every section of the restaurant, so there is plenty of room to spread out. I don't know if staff were just running a little slower that night but, for some reason, our drinks kept taking a little too long to order and to get brought to table. Good variety of beers on tap, cocktails were ok, an old fashioned came out off tasting. Again, I would go for a burger and beer or uncomplicated cocktails, that is, whatever is their signature drink. “Definitely a five star experience!!! We arrived just before happy hour ended (4-5:30) and they were kind enough to place a quick order of oysters!!! They were super fresh and delicious... favs were west coast (sorry NJ). Next, came the Parker rolls!!! Probably my favorite part of the meal, but then again, who doesn't like homemade, freshly baked rolls with buttered top and a touch of salt!!! Because everything looked so good, we opted for a bunch of other appys to start! The New Zealand angus beef bites were served with horseradish aioli and a Parker roll, the halloumi cheese was accompanied by orange slices, prosciutto, radicchio and dehydrated olives. The octopus was spectacular... crispy with romanesco sauce, fried chickpeas, cilantro and paprika breadcrumbs. Of course, we had to also try the OHS mussel pot... with chorizo, saffron, garlic cream, sun dried tomatoes... and an herbed garlic roll on top!!! LOVED THEM ALL! It's not often that so many different, but complimentary flavors are presented in each dish!!! We could have stopped our meals there and would have been pleasantly satisfied and full! Next, we chose a couple of the sirloin sandwiches with fries, and the squid ink pasta with Calabrian chili and Meyer lemon breadcrumbs!!! All was very good. The evening was finished with 3 of their delicious desserts... the lemon meringue tart was the perfect sweet with a pucker. The molten dark chocolate cake was decadent. And the trio of gelatos were each so uniquely flavorful and delicious! Wow!!! Given that 100 steps is a BYOB, it makes everything even more affordable! We had spectacular service in this beautiful restaurant with amazing food! It was quite a special evening!“

“North End Bar has an exceptional atmosphere with very friendly people that once you arrive for the first time, they treat you as if they have known you for centuries. Every other Thursday they have karaoke after 8pm and people come to sing that anyone wonders if they were professional singers in the past. Extraordinarily privileged voices. The owner of the North End Bar and his employees are super nice and friendly. I recommend it if you want to come and have a great time.“

“This review is mainly about the bar and entertainment at Rocky's Bar and Grill. Since I have never eaten there (yet) I am not rating the food. First, with so many local bars having entertainment closing/closed since covid, I'm greatful for those surviving and some thriving providing musical entertainment whether it be karaoke, DJ or live music to its patrons. Been going to Rockys, which is about 25 miles away for me for years on occasion primarily to see classic and hard rock bands, mostly cover bands perform. There is ampke room between the band and patrons if they decide to dance and seating surrounding the open floor area. People attending all seem to be there to have a good time and have never seen any issues. The bar is not fancy and that's alright with me. They have a back area outside with tables for sitting, drinking, private conversation, smoking, etc. which works for me. There is a parking lot behind the bar and usually fills quickly when a band is playingweekend nights. The staff are attentive, hustle to serve everyone and are generally friendly. Drink prices are reasonable and pour seems standard for (my) mixed drinks. The bar reminds me a little bit like Moby's in Woodbridge but with more room to see/enjoy the band. If you're into live music I would recommend going to Rockys to see some of the local bands. Saw both Kathouse and Stereo Circus bands there and loved them both. Love a place that supports live music. Will be back!!“

Had ample time for the quick walk to the theater. My mom uses a cane and needs time and assist so the environment was accommodating for maneuvering. Bathroom is located in the busy path of the kitchen but there doesn't seem any other option unless waiting till the theater but it's crowded to maneuver there so best at the Carriage House we felt.
