Collard greens were excellent flavor and mac has great flavor too.I had shrimp and fish combo, and it was a good amount. “I was having chicken and waffles at a different restaurant when I was told to come here for the “best chicken in waffles in Harlem”. I thought that was an exaggeration but after eating here, that was an understatement. Melba’s has my favorite chicken and waffles of all time!I came on a Sunday at peak busyness, but I was able to get a seat at the bar (full service). Service was good for the most part; they somehow ran out of silverware and the bartender quickly washed me a fork (shoutout to her). My only other nitpick is that I wish they had cornbread.“
“The food and service were excellent. Appetizers were great, including the Chicken Karaage (Bites) and Squid Skewer. Beef Gyoza was tasty as well. We had 3 different types of ramen, and all were delicious. The seafood ramen was good and hearty, and the pork broth was great. The pork cutlet was really good quality, meaty and soft. The service was very nice, helpful and friendly. Overall, a great experience and we'll definitely be back.“
“I have been craving banana pudding for some time and didn’t want to go in the city. Every place I’ve gone in New Jersey uses soggy wafers and chalky pudding. Now THIS is banana pudding, I’m actually worried about how dangerous this can be for me. It is delicious! I haven’t had an opportunity to try other items but I certainly will. Please give it a try.“

I get greens, cabbage, black eye peas, & pot salad or string beans. Now normally I don’t get nobody’s pot salad because since our generational grandmothers have all passed away , no one can do it right ?…. But baby pan fried did ?.. I was impressed?. Somebody over 40 made that pot salad ?. The only thing I haven’t taste , was the Mac n cheese ( my heartburn be killing me ) I can’t do all those cheese at this age & the yams. The food is fresh, well prepared, the prices are more than reasonable and the portions are huge!. I have tried mainly all of the chicken dishes and most of the sides; either by myself or with friends. The macaroni pie is amazing.! he food is also set out several times a day so it always is fresh .The owner/chef is a friendly outgoing man and his staff are also very friendly.It has counter seating and a buffet presentation. The woman that took my order was very welcoming and polite but the only issue I had was it’s not really a sit down restaurant. More like an order to go place. Now there’s a small bench with three seats inside near the front window and I was lucky that 3 customers that was waiting for their food gave me the seats. I ordered the 3 piece Pan-Fried Chicken with Mac&Cheese and Yams which came with Cornbread. The food was AMAZING, SO AMAZING I ordered a plate to go(with a little guilt)! Food shouldn’t taste so good. They make it hard for me trying to stay healthy. I’m just happy they don’t have one in Queens near me! GREAT FOOD!“
