“I conducted an experiment and ordered the same meal from 3 different Chinese restaurants at the same time. (I’m new to the area and wanted to find good Chinese take out quickly. haha!)I ordered general tso combo and wonton soup. The soup was fine, nothing special and probably wouldn’t get again. But the general tso’s was the best of all 3 restaurants! It was a little spicy, lots of chicken and not overly battered, good fried rice, good egg roll.I didn’t have high hopes given other reviews so I was pleasantly surprised! It was also the cheapest of the 3. This will definitely be my usual Chinese spot.Other places I tried were Happy Wok (the worst of the 3 and maybe worst I’ve ever had) and Sakana which was okay but very different than most General Tsos and also $4 more expensive.“
“I used to be a part-time employee for Happy Wok and my family still orders from the place frequently. It was quite upsetting when I saw how many bad reviews the store was getting even though it’s such a great store and I do believe it deserves much more stars.General Tso's chicken is one of their best sellers. They can sell at least two buckets of the chicken and during busy days, they can sell 3 to 4 buckets (these are HUGE buckets, I estimate at least 20 pounds of chicken per bucket). I was one of the ones who answered incoming calls and from what I saw, at least one order of General Tso's chicken would be placed during each call and it’s pretty common to take calls with 5-6 orders of General Tso's chicken. It’s their best seller. Everyone has different taste preferences so I do understand if people don’t like it, but I just want to share that their General Tso's chicken is really popular (it’s also one of my favorite dishes; their wonton soup, chicken with broccoli, cheese wontons, and their rolls are also DELICIOUS)I also want to say that they are very very generous. They give free food ALL THE TIME. I always see them throwing free foods like egg rolls, soups, or sodas into the bag even though the customer never used the coupon. Most importantly, they STUFF the plates with food. The plates are always STUFFED. I have to assist the chef and help them close the plates during busy hours and I always see that even when the plate is already filled, the chef would stuff a lot more to the plate, making it extremely difficult to close (not exaggerating at all, but sometimes it’s so hard to close that I need to use all my force or ask someone to close it with me). If you ordered from the place, you would definitely know what I’m talking about because the plates are so heavy and full that it’s amazing for only $10. The owner, the chefs, and everyone I worked with from this store are so friendly, so kind. Just try the store once and you would be amazed.“
“Food was great, the level of spice was good. I would definitely recommend this place. It was also very busy and I think reservation would be good if you want to go there.I had my favorite eggplant with preserved egg ? , soup was good! Definitely will be back!“
“Cool vibe, friendly service, I love the logo! We arrived as happy hour was changing over and quickly ordered. We found that our happy hour tacos we considerably less enjoyable than the ones we ordered after happy hour concluded. Fun spot, certainly would go before a show at Union Transfer.“
“Great food! Got the Ma Pao Tofu noodles (hand drawn) and the Szechuan Cold Noodles (knife cut and pork and chive dumplings to go. I've always wanted to try these styles of noodles and since I am here visiting and it was close by I jumped at the opportunity and it didn't disappoint! The hand drawn noodles I would recommend for the dishes that have a thicker sauce or soups and the hand cut noodles for anything that is a drier type of dish. The hand drawn noodles were a bit softer than the knife cut which was great for the Ma Pao Tofu dish and the knife cut has more of that QQ (chewy type) texture and is great for the Szechuan Cold Noodles. The Dumplings were great as well! Flavor and texture were spot on.You do have to have cash or the ability to pay by Venmo, but otherwise it's a great overall experience“
“Really great. I had the Chongqing spicy broth, wagyu, head on prawns, scallops, and lamb as my meats and went crazy in the self serve area. Great quality meats and vegetable selection. Broth was good, service was good. I had to wait for about 1 hour because you cannot make a reservation for a 2 top, but it was well worth it. I left completely satisfied for 40 dollars plus tax, no uncharged. Highly recommended.“
“Totally enjoyed every aspect of my experience. Last night on a work trip and heard the name of this restaurant 2x today and ended up having a hair appointment near by and was able to walk! I sat at the bar downstairs and had amazing service. Had the enlightenment martini and the cashew chicken with jasmine rice. Hands down some of the best food I’ve eaten!“
“I love the food here so much! I became a vegetarian during the pandemic because I realized how much environmental damage the meat industry causes and how they have no repercussions for any of the harm they cause. At first, it was hard! There’s few vegetarian restaurants out there, and those that have vegetarian options are normally not that good. Let’s face it. Most veggie-style versions of food aren’t as tasty when you’ve eaten meat your whole life. But let me tell you, this place breaks that stereotype. It was hard learning to cook again since I’ve mostly known how to prepare different meat-based dishes my entire life. (With few exceptions) But this place was truly inspiring in that way. I learned that anything you could want could be made without the use of animal products. It’s life-changing to taste the possibilities that well-seasoned and prepared food can bring. I have taken my family, friends, and coworkers here since 2020, and I will never not love this place. It even holds a special place in my heart for another reason. My husband and I ordered our wedding feast from them and it just added to the magic of that special day. ❤️“
“Cash only, no Venmo!!!Past review say Venmo is allowed but in-person, Venmo was declined, only option was cash, credit card with fee, Apple Pay with fee.Hand pulled or shaved noodles here are excellent! Had dine in and take out before.Service is bare minimum, but not surprising from a Chinese restaurant.“
“What an amazing experience. The food was SO GOOD! I am not vegan or kosher personally, but if I were, I would be even further over the moon. If you are in the area, I would consider this a must-try. Next time I come to Philly I will be back!“
“Good vibe and good food! I was a bit surprised by the portion sizes and how small they were, considering that I would say this spot is pricey. The menu is also small, most dim sum restaurants I go to have a vast menu and are relatively inexpensive. With that being said, the chicken wontons were the star of the show for me! Along with the green fire cocktail… MUST TRY. The shrimp dumplings were also delicious, and the korean fried chicken wings were just OK.If I go back, I plan on trying to the cheesesteak bao as I heard they’re incredible.“
“Dim Sum House is fantastic! Every dish I've tried there has been excellent. The location is convenient, and the atmosphere is cozy. Great place to make a reservation for special occasions like birthdays or NYE. Definitely a must-visit spot for delicious dim sum!Kid-friendliness: My toddler enjoyed many menu items.“
“We initially just picked this place because it was right next to our AirBnB and convenient. Let me tell you...this place was awesome!! The food was fantastic, service was great...we loved it. My husband admittedly ordered his food wrong and the server and chef were super cool and accommodating about it when they didn't have to be. Regardless of where we stay next time we're in Philly, we'll definitely be coming back here.“
“Absolutely loved this restaurant! I came here with my girlfriend on a random Wednesday evening and we were seated immediately. They even gave us a new table when they realized our first one was wobbly. Our server was incredibly polite and gave us details on all of the items we were interested in ordering. We had the vegetable egg rolls, pan fried pork soup dumplings, extra spicy shrimp dumplings, pickled garlic cucumber, scallion pancakes, and chicken & mushroom dumplings. As they bring the food to you, they announce the meals so you don't have to remember/worry about what you selected. They also have really delicious cocktails that I suggest.“
“Great Pan-Asian restaurant! Came here on a Monday evening with friends to celebrate a birthday! Definitely make reservations if you have a large party. Nice bar area to wait in or even grab a before dinner cocktail!Menu is amazing, so many great options!Definitely a must see if you’re in the city!“
“Small quiet cafe in china town. There are signs that say no cell phones but really they just don’t want you talking on the phone or web conferencing to keep the chill vibes. Most of the food is a bit pricey but the breakfast sandwich is cheap and worth it. They do have great coffee and tea. There is a fancy selection of coffees and teas for around $15 each which are definitely nice but not worth it on the regular.“
“Food was incredible, the atmosphere was lively and warm. I felt the service was super, helping me understand the menu and giving me tips with what I should order. This is the best Chinese food I've ever had, hands down. The winter melon tea is delectable btw“
“It’s my fav spot in center city for date night especially. It’s a chic, upscale vibe. A bit cozy but intimate seating. I have been fan of the food. Haven’t been there in a while, but it still the best spot. Fav dishes are dandan noodles, scallion pancakes, cumin fried dish(beef or chicken). This time tried double roast beans chicken , pepper fried fish, sichuan clay pot. Everything was amazing. The food comes in good quantity so we could eat family style. Or at the least share by two if you are stuffed with appetizers.“
“One of my favorite spots in the city! Great food and the service team feels like family. They’ll never steer you wrong if you want to try something new, and always deliver your favorites at a high and consistent quality! Maybe I’ll go this weekend - getting hungry while writing this review.“
“Most recent favorite Chinese Restaurant. Luv their food. Favorites are the veggie spring rolls and hot and sour soup. Delicious. Wasn’t crazy about the scallion pancake tho. I’ve had numerous veggie dishes including egg foo young and so far all are good! Staff is very friendly and always greets you with a smile!Vegetarian options: Luv them“
“Unassuming location but fantastic food and service. We ordered a few appetizers - shrimp and pork sui mai, bbq pork bao bun, and the spicy chili oil dumpling., All were delicious but the chili oil was incredible, we poured and dipped everything else in it. We split an order of the crispy shrimp and walnut entree and had the lychee and honey lemon green teas to wash everything down. For a no-frills but tasty dim sum night, give this place a try!“
“This place is a gem . Don’t know why it wasn’t busy as hell when we went there because the service was great, the food was easily the best Chinese I’ve had in the city, and the portions were at least twice the size of any other place I’ve been to. Expect family style and leftovers . Orange chicken , hot and sour soup , scallion ginger shrimp and salt and pepper tofu are all perfected versions of themselves.“
“My friends and I came to Philly for a day trip from MD! As soon as we reached the city, we came to Chuan Kee Skewer for lunch :)The service was really good with the workers greeting us with a smile and wishing us a happy lunar new year. The food also came out really fast!We ordered an assortment of skewers and non-skewer dishes, my favorite being the Taiwanese sausage and chicken wings! I also really loved the eggplant dish too with how soft and runny it is :) All of the food definitely hit the spot after the long travel! I’ll be sure to come back when I’m in the area!“
“This is a hidden gem in Philly. The roasted pork was perfect and most melted in my mouth. Duck was phenomenal, all the greens were tasty and fresh. 10x better than any other place with a line out the door, which Lau Kee should have. Will be back for this amazing food and kind staff.“
“I've dined at this restaurant twice. I ordered the roast duck both times and found that the quality was much better the second time! This restaurant is a good option for folks who want authentic flavors WITHOUT the excessive grease and salt. Usually I don't care for the ambiance when dining in Chinatown because I'm just there for good food, but it's refreshing to get good service and enjoy a comfortable, clean, and less noisy dining experience overall while eating a tasty meal.“

“Great little spot for a quick dine-in or takeout. Good food at good prices. I had the chili oil wontons, which were great, and a lunch special order of chicken pepper and onions. Additionally ordered a lychee jelly green tea which was awesome! All made for a nice lunch.“
“We ordered for the first time this weekend and it was absolutely fabulous! Our appetizers were a Chinese pizza and Crab Rangoon. The Chinese pizza was the best one we've ever had, but as you will quickly see from this review, EVERYTHING was the best we ever had. The pizza was perfectly done with the tastiest dipping sauce. The crab Rangoon was next level. It was homemade and so freaking delicious. Best ever! For dinner we shared the vegetable lomein and general tso shrimp. Both were fantastic and let me say, usually everywhere around here loads up on unnecessary oil, but this wasn't. The container was filled with shrimp. Worth every single penny. Since moving to the area we've tried so many places for these dishes and although some were good, nothing compared to fresh and homemade deliciousness of Yummy Yummy. The woman on the phone was so nice too, as well as the delivery driver. You guys get to take all of my money from now on. Thank you for everything. Now, I think this review made me hungry and I need to order for the Eagles game ?“
“I used to work in Chengdu China and the food here is pretty authentic, would highly recommend the eggplant with duck yolk sauce or the chefs special tofu. It’s spicy! But in the best way ?, also a bit pricey so more of a special treat for me.“
“To start off, there was no wait!! Already off on a good note. When we arrived, we were directed upstairs where there were bigger tables and a great atmosphere. We were seated by to coolest server who went on to explain how their hotpot works. She really took her time and answered our questions. I was treating son and granddaughter to dinner. It was my granddaughter’s first hotpot experience and she was excited. They had a tablet at every table so you can pick out what you want a send it straight to the kitchen, which I thought was a great touch. When the food arrived to our table, the cook time was explained to us about every item. Everything was really good. We had both the waygu brisket and the waygu ribeye. We also had the seafood combo which came with abalone. I had never had it before but always wanted to try it. It was pretty good. Both broths were really delicious. My granddaughter and I choose the mushrooms broth and my son choose the original bone broth. The only thing I didn’t like was that you had to share the sauces with the other tables. You also had to pay for all of your drinks (soda, juice, milk tea). Other than that everything else was all you can eat. We had a great time a would definitely be back. I highly recommend this place.“
“It is hot pot buffet. very tasty and fresh. It is a good comibation of BBQ and hotpot. I have ordered BBQ beef, prawns, abalone(鲍鱼)for hot pot.。 I got mushroom, vegitable, beef, clams by myself. There is plenty of great food. I really like the delicous food and service. The waitress is very patient and pleasant. I will definitely dine there again. It is a hidden jem.“
“Soy milk, steamed buns, tofu curds, and rice dumplings are all authentic and delicious. The boss is very friendly. Go early in the morning when there are fewer people, sit in the shop and eat slowly, with the sun shining on your face, it is very comfortable.“
“Ordered the beef stewed with noodle soup and the beef and beef ball noodle soup and it was amazing. We got the egg soda and it was also delicious! I should’ve ordered the regular size instead of a large because the portion size was huge. Will definitely come back“
“Amazing roasted duck!!! Not very fatty. The sauce come with the duck is very good too. The dumplings soup was okay, not very juicy but acceptable for me. Fried rice is good too. Highly recommend this place if you want roasted duck !!! Service was good ?“
“Love this place! The food is excellent and inexpensive for what you get, the service is great (they treat you like your family or their favorite customer), and to top it all off… they are a byob establishment. No need to pay inflated prices for your poison of choice.“
“Wow.. this was the first time I've tried this place for take out and it was absolutely amazing. The spicy Thai Shrimp was one of the best! The wonton was so fresh the dumplings melted in my mouth. And the XMas Maki special roll was very fresh and delicious!. This will definitely be my go to place from now on.“
“Quick cheap tasty and my go to for rainy cold days. Takeout staples like egg foo young and general tso’s are consistently solid. I would say they also have the freshest tasting egg rolls of all the takeout spots in south Philly. The veggies on the inside actually have some texture instead of being defrosted mush. Fried rice has decent wok flavor too surprisingly. Just can’t go wrong as long as you stick to the familiar dishes.“
“This establishment offers three main category of Chinese cuisines: Dim Sum, Noodles, and Traditional entrees. So if you can't decide, try all three! Although their menu is not as diversified as other dim sum places in Chinatown, all the dishes that we've ordered were quite tasty.Service was quick, as we waited just a few minutes before dishes were being served. Portions were generous as well. Be aware that some of the photos on their menu/signs did not match the actual entrees served. So if you have a dish that you really wanted to try out, make sure you get a confirmation with the staff on what it is you've actually ordered. This place do take credit cards as well as cash. But on credit cards, they have a minimum of $ 25 order. So make sure you have cash if you stop by for a quick bite.“
“We were very disappointed in the food. The California roll was too fishy and it had to be thown away. the chicken and broccoli was greasy for some reason (called and was told possibly it was the oil they used and offered to send another but person didn't want) the last combination platter was sweet & sour chicken and the most that can be said is at least it was edible. First time order and for the poor food & amount of money spent we definitely will not return, Hopefully we just hit an off night.“
“Just moved here & wasn't sure where to choose. Normally, we look at the reviews. Golden Kitchen was rated the highest. We ordered & now are permanent customers!! Food arrived on time, fresh & hot!! Tonight's meal: Boneless ribs, Wonton soup, fries, 1 of each flavor egg rolls, fried wonton, fried crab stix & they threw in FREE a delicious order of General Tso's Chicken. LOVE GOLDEN KITCHEN!! WHY HAVEN'T YOU TRIED THEM YET!!!! ?? ? ???“
“This place is a hidden gem. The food came out in less than 5 minutes so consider staggering your order unless you want to feast like a king. It was hands down the best chicken satay I’ve ever had, we had to order a second one after we finished all of the food. Beef Rendeng was fantastic as well. Only thing we ordered that I wouldn’t get again was the spare ribs which were overly fried. Overall this place is fantastic and a BYOB, will be going back very soon.“
“I lived in China for almost 7 years and this place is the real deal! I was missing authentic Chinese food so much and I finally found it here in The States! The place is small so be aware if you’re planning on bringing a big group. There’s only one toilet and it was a bit sketchy. Although that added to the authenticity of the atmosphere. It transported me back to China. It was surreal!Parking: If you come from out of town like us, you will need to pay for parking at the many public parking lots in this area. The one we found charged us $24 per 2 hours. It was very close to the restaurant, maybe 5 minutes walk. Very convenient. Stress free.“
“I hadn’t had salt pepper spare ribs(椒盐排骨)cooked this way for a long time so I was very happy.I am still giving 5 stars because I personally didn’t care too much. But I noticed a small piece of plastic (from a plastic bag or something like that) in the rice. I guess this happens when you have a small kitchen on a truck.“
“A beautiful Chinese restaurant in the Prospect Park area. It’s nicely colored and decorated inside giving it an authentic atmosphere. The food is really good too, very tasty and fresh quality. I tried it for the first time this year and was genuinely pleased.“
“Got Szechuan peppercorn beef noodle soup and fish maw chicken noodle soup. So good. And the price is pretty decent for such a big portion & variety of toppings. Service is basic level. They do have a surcharge for credit card but I’m not super surprised.“
“They say you should never judge a book by its cover, and as an English teacher you'd think I'd respect the old adage, but after living in Point Breeze for 10+ years I finally tried the BEST Chinese takeout in the Breeze, maybe the city. It's the little things: green beans and carrots in the Hot and Sour Soup, nice, fried orange rind in the General Taos, at a takeout joint?! Homemade fried chili flake sauce with the dumplings, word. They're on Grubhub, do it.“
“I live right around the corner so I've been going for a while now. Always quick and cheap. I am so blessed to have this place so close. Cindy is so sweet and they have a bunch of snacks you can get too. My favorite things to get are the sesame chicken w pork fried rice, pizza roll, and the shrimp roll.“
“There food is always good. I love the shrimp and broccoli rolls. Not to many stores have them. I only knew of one other store that sold them when I was a kid. Thesgore still stands but no shrimp rolls. Hands down one if the best Chinese stores in west phiy“
“Prices have gone up at this place and many others so much so that it's hard to eat out anymore. I still love Great Walls food I just can't order from them as much as I use to and as much as I'd like too. I hate this economy right now thanks to Biden. However there food is good. If you can afford to eat out feel lucky because this is now a luxury for some of us.“
“This is my favorite place to get take out. I have a lot of food allergies and I talk to Chen and can ask questions about the ingredients to ensure they are safe for me to eat. They are friendly and accommodating. Cash only. It's better than all the card fees. I will always order food here!!!! It's delicious!!!!Vegetarian options: Bean curd (tofu) plenty of dishes have no meat and just veggies in the dishDietary restrictions: I have gluten, dairy and seafood allergies. I also do not eat beef or pork. I have never had a reaction due to a cross contamination issue. I really recommend the chicken mai fun with extra carrots and snow peasParking: Small amount of spots since it is in a strip mall but it is pretty quick. 15 minute parking for some spots. I have never had to wait for a spot. Right across from the Wawa on crown point road.“
