“I like trying out new restaurants. This was my first time here. I ordered food for pick up and saw it was a restaurant and not just a takeout place. Food smelled great, and I couldn't wait to taste it! Food didn't disappoint. It tasted as good as it smelled.“
“I love this place. The prices are friendly with little bonuses if your order is over a certain amount. The staff are also friendly. I love chatting with them while I wait. The food is always yummy and full of meat and vegetables. I recommend trying the tofu (bean curd) dishes like szechuan bean curd or sesame bean curd. There's no sit down dinning but that's never been an issue.Vegetarian options: Bean curd dishes are great as well as vegetable versions of classics like fried rice and lo mein“
“Great food and quick service. Came here with a hungry group, and our food came pretty quickly and hit the spot! A few of us split a scallion pancake, and it was quite good--flaky/not hard and had some nice layers. It was on the small side but still good for sharing. I tried the knife cut roast pork stir fry noodles and enjoyed the flavor of the meat and the slightly varied textures of the noodles! Very flavorful but not too rich. I enjoyed the veggies that gave a nice texture contrast with the noodles. I also sampled some of the house noodle bowl with the hand pulled noodles, which were also great! The broth was tasty, and there were a lot of varied meats and veggies included. With the solid food, fair prices, and good location, I'd definitely come here again!“
“Emei is one of the few Chinese Restaurants that has several gluten free options. My wife has celiac disease so this is very important and the servers here are knowledgeable and helpful about dietary restrictions. We started with the Cucumber and Garlic salad which is absolutely delicious. Then the main entree was house special fried rice with General Tsao's chicken. That's something nearly impossible to get gluten free. It was very good. The ambiance was fine nothing over-the-top. Special shoutout to Valerie, our server. She understood my wife's celiac seriously. Took her time explaining various menu options, etc. Professional and personable. Overall highly recommended.“
“Cool vibe, friendly service, I love the logo! We arrived as happy hour was changing over and quickly ordered. We found that our happy hour tacos we considerably less enjoyable than the ones we ordered after happy hour concluded. Fun spot, certainly would go before a show at Union Transfer.“
“Really great. I had the Chongqing spicy broth, wagyu, head on prawns, scallops, and lamb as my meats and went crazy in the self serve area. Great quality meats and vegetable selection. Broth was good, service was good. I had to wait for about 1 hour because you cannot make a reservation for a 2 top, but it was well worth it. I left completely satisfied for 40 dollars plus tax, no uncharged. Highly recommended.“
“Soft instrumental music, friendly staff, excellent ginger dressing on the house salad, and impeccable fish in the sushi, this spot is a must go for any sushi lover. Immaculate cleanliness with superb presentation. Cannot wait to visit again.“
“I love the food here so much! I became a vegetarian during the pandemic because I realized how much environmental damage the meat industry causes and how they have no repercussions for any of the harm they cause. At first, it was hard! There’s few vegetarian restaurants out there, and those that have vegetarian options are normally not that good. Let’s face it. Most veggie-style versions of food aren’t as tasty when you’ve eaten meat your whole life. But let me tell you, this place breaks that stereotype. It was hard learning to cook again since I’ve mostly known how to prepare different meat-based dishes my entire life. (With few exceptions) But this place was truly inspiring in that way. I learned that anything you could want could be made without the use of animal products. It’s life-changing to taste the possibilities that well-seasoned and prepared food can bring. I have taken my family, friends, and coworkers here since 2020, and I will never not love this place. It even holds a special place in my heart for another reason. My husband and I ordered our wedding feast from them and it just added to the magic of that special day. ❤️“
“Great food at amazing prices - well worth your visit. One of my favorite appetizers is crab rangoon. I've tried a bunch of places and this is by far the best. They are full flavored, crispy, and the perfect pull-apart star shape. We tried both the hand drawn noodles in a soup and the shaved noodles in a stir fryThree treasures - amazing! The shrimp was perfectly cooked, plus you can add your own spice level with Sriracha or house made chili paste. It was hard to pick a favorite dish between the two, but luckily they are large portions so I'm bringing home leftovers!“
“came in on a cold rainy day and was welcomed with some warm tea, ordered and all food was served promptly, everything was as expected, only change woukd be to have the pan fried dumplings more thoroughly fried. The ambiance is nice and relaxing.“
“Good vibe and good food! I was a bit surprised by the portion sizes and how small they were, considering that I would say this spot is pricey. The menu is also small, most dim sum restaurants I go to have a vast menu and are relatively inexpensive. With that being said, the chicken wontons were the star of the show for me! Along with the green fire cocktail… MUST TRY. The shrimp dumplings were also delicious, and the korean fried chicken wings were just OK.If I go back, I plan on trying to the cheesesteak bao as I heard they’re incredible.“
“Absolutely loved this restaurant! I came here with my girlfriend on a random Wednesday evening and we were seated immediately. They even gave us a new table when they realized our first one was wobbly. Our server was incredibly polite and gave us details on all of the items we were interested in ordering. We had the vegetable egg rolls, pan fried pork soup dumplings, extra spicy shrimp dumplings, pickled garlic cucumber, scallion pancakes, and chicken & mushroom dumplings. As they bring the food to you, they announce the meals so you don't have to remember/worry about what you selected. They also have really delicious cocktails that I suggest.“
“Well well well... why didn't I know about this place sooner?! My mommy treated me out for dinner in celebration of my birthday and we decided to eat family style because duah were family but because we are greedy too haha. Anywho.. I was very impressed by the interior as the restaurant was so cute inside--Very dim, and just a complete vibe. Our server was very patient and helpful with guiding us through the menu items. I had a blueberry lemon drop to start out which was very light, sweet and refreshing--My kind of drink. We ordered the salt and pepper wings and trio seafood, along with the string beans, authentic fried rice, shrimp pad Thai, sui mai and for dessert we tried the egg custard buns. Everything was quick, hot, flavorful and just perfect. I have not stopped thinking about this place since, and surprisingly the star of the show for me was the Egg Custard Buns which I tried for the first time and I was super impressed--They were warm, fluffy, and paired perfectly with the sweet custard on the inside, and it wasn't heavy either!! 10/10 across the board for me... Thanks Dim Sum House!“
“I'd actually been to Dan Dan years ago, the last time I was in Philly, and decided to come back. Even years later, the noodles were still memorable, but this time I decided to try something else. They had a bunch of options for entrées, but I decided to go with Hot Dry Pot Dish (Chicken), since it came with a bunch of vegetables. I was very pleased with the portion size and the dish was delicious! I actually sat at the bar, since it was just me, but they had plenty of regular tables as well. The vibes were pretty relaxed, but I could see it being more lively on a Friday or Saturday night. I really enjoyed my meal here!“
“Great Pan-Asian restaurant! Came here on a Monday evening with friends to celebrate a birthday! Definitely make reservations if you have a large party. Nice bar area to wait in or even grab a before dinner cocktail!Menu is amazing, so many great options!Definitely a must see if you’re in the city!“
“Small quiet cafe in china town. There are signs that say no cell phones but really they just don’t want you talking on the phone or web conferencing to keep the chill vibes. Most of the food is a bit pricey but the breakfast sandwich is cheap and worth it. They do have great coffee and tea. There is a fancy selection of coffees and teas for around $15 each which are definitely nice but not worth it on the regular.“
“I’m crazy about this restaurant! I pickup at least once a week. General Tso is my absolute favorite. The egg rolls are amazing and I love the egg drop soup. The portions are big! Always leftovers. They have a ATM inside if you don’t have cash.“
“Food was incredible, the atmosphere was lively and warm. I felt the service was super, helping me understand the menu and giving me tips with what I should order. This is the best Chinese food I've ever had, hands down. The winter melon tea is delectable btw“
“My daughter and I go to this restaurant every Saturdays after her tutoring at church. The food is always excellent. Food portions are always big and tasty. The owners are always so nice to us. We always get their orange chicken, shrimp with garlic sauce and shrimp fried rice. We highly recommend this place.“
“Unassuming location but fantastic food and service. We ordered a few appetizers - shrimp and pork sui mai, bbq pork bao bun, and the spicy chili oil dumpling., All were delicious but the chili oil was incredible, we poured and dipped everything else in it. We split an order of the crispy shrimp and walnut entree and had the lychee and honey lemon green teas to wash everything down. For a no-frills but tasty dim sum night, give this place a try!“
“This place is a gem . Don’t know why it wasn’t busy as hell when we went there because the service was great, the food was easily the best Chinese I’ve had in the city, and the portions were at least twice the size of any other place I’ve been to. Expect family style and leftovers . Orange chicken , hot and sour soup , scallion ginger shrimp and salt and pepper tofu are all perfected versions of themselves.“
“My friends and I came to Philly for a day trip from MD! As soon as we reached the city, we came to Chuan Kee Skewer for lunch :)The service was really good with the workers greeting us with a smile and wishing us a happy lunar new year. The food also came out really fast!We ordered an assortment of skewers and non-skewer dishes, my favorite being the Taiwanese sausage and chicken wings! I also really loved the eggplant dish too with how soft and runny it is :) All of the food definitely hit the spot after the long travel! I’ll be sure to come back when I’m in the area!“
“a hidden gem in chinatown. we had juicy tender cuts of roasted duck and bbq pork and a flavorful chicken curry dish. they both came in generous servings. all the dishes were delicious and arrived steaming in a few minutes. service was great. the bathroom was pristine. the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. you also get a pot of oolong tea with your meals. everything was stellar. would def come back for more“
“This is the best Chinese food in the area. They have solid prices, they use good fresh ingredients, and put everything together nicely. I've had a few different entree's that were all delicious. Their rice is also the best. It's sad how few places know how to really make good, light, fluffy rice. 10/10 recommend.“
“I've dined at this restaurant twice. I ordered the roast duck both times and found that the quality was much better the second time! This restaurant is a good option for folks who want authentic flavors WITHOUT the excessive grease and salt. Usually I don't care for the ambiance when dining in Chinatown because I'm just there for good food, but it's refreshing to get good service and enjoy a comfortable, clean, and less noisy dining experience overall while eating a tasty meal.“

“Soy milk, steamed buns, tofu curds, and rice dumplings are all authentic and delicious. The boss is very friendly. Go early in the morning when there are fewer people, sit in the shop and eat slowly, with the sun shining on your face, it is very comfortable.“
“Great little spot for a quick dine-in or takeout. Good food at good prices. I had the chili oil wontons, which were great, and a lunch special order of chicken pepper and onions. Additionally ordered a lychee jelly green tea which was awesome! All made for a nice lunch.“
“One of my favorite spots in the city! Great food and the service team feels like family. They’ll never steer you wrong if you want to try something new, and always deliver your favorites at a high and consistent quality! Maybe I’ll go this weekend - getting hungry while writing this review.“
“It is hot pot buffet. very tasty and fresh. It is a good comibation of BBQ and hotpot. I have ordered BBQ beef, prawns, abalone(鲍鱼)for hot pot.。 I got mushroom, vegitable, beef, clams by myself. There is plenty of great food. I really like the delicous food and service. The waitress is very patient and pleasant. I will definitely dine there again. It is a hidden jem.“
“Solid to go lunch options and one of the few prices point you'll still find for under $10 for lunch. No frills take out joint. The lunch egg roll has been downsized a bit here to more of a spring roll. The fried rice is passable but not the best out there.“
“Swung in for a quick afternoon drink with my wife, server was very friendly & answered questions. However I noticed other staff didn't really speak much, and spoke to other patrons as they left, not sure what that was about. However the establishment was very clean, and our drinks was very good.“
“This place is legit. Spicy, but they nail the spice level exactly what I wanted (your mileage may vary). Fast service, nothing special but very polite. The dining room has a college area vibe, stripped down and simple but clean. It's all about really good, fresh, well-executed, spicy Sichuan food. I'm a fan!“
“I love Tom's Dim Sum! The dumplings are so amazing I always eat in so the food is super fresh and hot. The staff is friendly and super helpful with any questions about the menu, food comes out super quickly and is always so fresh! Definitely one of my favorite spots to eat a great meal at a great price!“
“Pretty good food, flavorful broth, good variety of meats. Attentive servers. Nice decor and atmosphere. The tray of sauces that stops by your table for 0.2 seconds, was also pretty cool. Though each table should have their own in my opinion.“
“Ordered the beef stewed with noodle soup and the beef and beef ball noodle soup and it was amazing. We got the egg soda and it was also delicious! I should’ve ordered the regular size instead of a large because the portion size was huge. Will definitely come back“
“Since new Owner (Linda) has taken over this establishment, it has become my "go to sushi joint"!! Their sushi chefs (John & Yanni) are both amazingly talented and they have created custom sushi rolls for me according to my preferred fish and other ingredients. Presentation is awesome as is the freshness and tasty items they prepare. Linda and her Manager (Cindy) are so welcoming and very attentive to their guests...making everyone feel like a VIP!! Highly recommend this restaurant.“
“Amazing roasted duck!!! Not very fatty. The sauce come with the duck is very good too. The dumplings soup was okay, not very juicy but acceptable for me. Fried rice is good too. Highly recommend this place if you want roasted duck !!! Service was good ?“
“Our neighborhood Chinese take out spot. We typically do traditional Chinese-American staples, lo mein, pork and vegetables, egg rolls, pork fried rice, beef and broccoli, and everything is always good. The service is very friendly and the food is ready quickly.“
“Love this place! The food is excellent and inexpensive for what you get, the service is great (they treat you like your family or their favorite customer), and to top it all off… they are a byob establishment. No need to pay inflated prices for your poison of choice.“
“You know the invisible Chinese Food chain that exists nearly everywhere in America? Each has a different name, but they all have the same menu and price? Pak Yue is the _best_ manifestation of that restaurant. Wonton Soup is packed with wontons, you couldn't fit another one in the takeout container. To Go trays barely close, they're so stuffed. If your bill is five, ten cents over a dollar amount they wave it off instead of making you carry nine dimes the rest of the day. They're super generous with sauces. And, amazingly, when they quote "15 minutes" when you call for takeout, it's actually fifteen minutes. If you don't like Pak Yue, you probably just don't like this quasi-franchise of food.“
“We are Hong Konger and enjoy the traditional 'Dim Sum' since we were kids. Their authentic 'Dim Sum' brings back all the memories of those good old days and good food. The atmosphere is good, the 'Dim Sum' is tasty and juicy. The service is very good too and they treated us like a family. They are very friendly and polite. But a friendly reminder to remind you that the 'Dim Sum' is freshly made and very hot inside. The 'Siomai', 'Beef Ball' and 'Ham Sui Gok' appeared to be cold and dry outside. Actually, they are very hot and juicy inside. Never try to swallow it down and you will regret. But taste it with a small bite and you will enjoy it. Taste it and you will come back again with your best friend and family. No lie.“
“I highly appreciate this restaurant and the hard working and courteous restaurant staff. We as a family have eaten here for lunch and dinner, experiencing very well prepared meals including the steamed dumplings, chicken with vegetable sauté, hot and sour and wonton soups and chicken as well as shrimp with black bean sauce. In addition to an efficient and attentive server staff, a very helpful Manager Allen made a point to come over and greet me, my Bother & Sister-in-Law and my Aunt and Mom, giving my Mom & Aunt a slice of ice cream cake with candles spontaneously (when he learned that we were celebrating my Aunt and Mom's Birthdays)! Highly recommended“
“Best halal Chinese take out in Philadelphia. They do have seating of four for 2 groups. They are also very clean and nice. Even the bathroom and the kitchen is clean. The best part is their food actually taste good and they have a good deal on the lunch special.Dietary restrictions: HalalParking: Usually parking is available but sometimes you might have to park far“
“Quick cheap tasty and my go to for rainy cold days. Takeout staples like egg foo young and general tso’s are consistently solid. I would say they also have the freshest tasting egg rolls of all the takeout spots in south Philly. The veggies on the inside actually have some texture instead of being defrosted mush. Fried rice has decent wok flavor too surprisingly. Just can’t go wrong as long as you stick to the familiar dishes.“
“Jin Ding is really good. The owner is now cooking here, and he’s atop Hong Kong chef. If you haven’t been here for a while, you should try their Christmas special. It’s really good and reasonably priced. But you better hurry because it ends by the end of the year. We had the Christmas special and we had stuff to take home. we came back again for an early dinner. Ming, the owner head chef out did himself we had roast duck, bean shoots with garlic, and a fish hot bowl. Super good stuff. Really Chinese tasting food. Felt I’m back in Hong Kong.“
“This establishment offers three main category of Chinese cuisines: Dim Sum, Noodles, and Traditional entrees. So if you can't decide, try all three! Although their menu is not as diversified as other dim sum places in Chinatown, all the dishes that we've ordered were quite tasty.Service was quick, as we waited just a few minutes before dishes were being served. Portions were generous as well. Be aware that some of the photos on their menu/signs did not match the actual entrees served. So if you have a dish that you really wanted to try out, make sure you get a confirmation with the staff on what it is you've actually ordered. This place do take credit cards as well as cash. But on credit cards, they have a minimum of $ 25 order. So make sure you have cash if you stop by for a quick bite.“
“This place is a hidden gem. The food came out in less than 5 minutes so consider staggering your order unless you want to feast like a king. It was hands down the best chicken satay I’ve ever had, we had to order a second one after we finished all of the food. Beef Rendeng was fantastic as well. Only thing we ordered that I wouldn’t get again was the spare ribs which were overly fried. Overall this place is fantastic and a BYOB, will be going back very soon.“
“This place always delivers fresh hot food to us quickly ! They always critique our food to our liking every time with no mistakes. I can't recall ever having any issues, and we call this place usually at least once a week. I love their bourbon chicken, pork fried rice, general tsao chicken, and teriyaki chicken on a stick are some of our favorites from them. Staff is wonderful and very very polite, delivery drivers are always quick and personally thank you every time for the tip.“
“Super convenient location with parking. Excellent vegetable tempura the best I've had from a small business. The steamed dumplings were also excellent. I'm used to crispier Gen Tao, but the sauce had a nice kick. Take out or dine in. For take out, I recommend that you order once you arrive because everything stays crispy and fresh if it doesn't sit around. Let's support this small business!Wheelchair accessibility: I don't recall any steps to the entrance. There might be a curb.“
