“Ah yes! Such a pleasant and clean and relaxing atmosphere contrary to the ghetto McDonald's occupies a lot of Philadelphia with the ghetto employees cursing and talking loud and ignoring you when you trying to order food them dirty tables acting like you are bothering them for being there. This McDonald's was pleasant The management and the staff were accommodating and they also had a special needs person cleaning and maintaining the dining room who is very nice and I was happy that they employed her.“

“The service was phenomenal. The food, delicious. Best italian restaurant in Philly, the closest thing I've seen so far to an authentic italian restaurant in Philly (I stayed in Italy for 6 weeks). We got the tiramisu and gelato, and we got the carbonara and pappardelle al ragù. All of it was just so good. I wanna come back again, but I need to save up for it because it was very pricey. But worth it.“

“Food is great very creative I’d recommend the shrimp taco, new favorite place drinks are good too not watered down like other places. Service here is awesome. Leah is great our second visit she remembered my name she treats her regulars like we visit everyday. At one point I thought she was the owner bc she does such a great job running the place. This is now my favorite place to go.“

“Nestled in a cozy nook, this coffee spot offers a delightful variety of flavors. The friendly barista recommends the crowd favorite: a caramel black salt latte. It's not too strong coffee mild on mild side, but perfect blend of caramel sweetness and a hint of salt.“

“This is one of my favorite places to get work done near Penn/Drexel’s campus. The atmosphere is great, with a mix of sunlight and greenery as well as areas that are more removed for a less distracting environment. Would definitely reccomend the food, as well. Especially an egg white and cheese croissant!“

“I think this might be my favorite café on the east coast?Every once in a while I stumble upon a coffee gem randomly and that’s exactly what happened on this Philly trip.Ordered a pour over and asked the staff to make me whatever they suggest. I was not expecting to have one of the best cups of coffee I’ve ever had. When the staff mentioned, “notes of bergamot,” I didn’t take him seriously but my mind was seriously blown on the first sip. Never had that flavor in a coffee before (I drink and try a lot of coffee) and I’ve been thinking about it for the past week. Loved it so much, had to order something else. Also got a cinnamon roll because I saw people loved it. Thought it was good, but also thought it was like any other laminated pastry LOL will probably order it again though. What I loved about the staff was their knowledge and interest in coffee. In fact, I just went to a cafe in nyc hoping for the same experience. Ordered a coffee tasting flight, but got no explanation about what was from where or anything else and kept comparing it to my time at Thank You Thank You.If you love coffee, this is your spot.“

“Have seen a lot of people say “delightful” and that’s an apt description. Family shop that you can tell, but what they’ve built is absolutely a marvel. Beautiful place, tons of coffee options, generous sizes without sacrificing it looking/being nice, food’s great too and rotating and actual thought seems to have gone into it rather than just pumping out 15 different croissants or something.“

“Update: originally posted my unfortunate experience and the owners response here was prompt and understanding. I am amending my review in light of their response because it shows that they do care for patrons and our concerns. i will not contact further because i did not post the review for some freebies but for the principle of appropriate response to customer concerns.I recommend ANY of their cupcakes because they are always on point. their cookies are big and beautifully delicious. cinnamon roll is good. iced coffee hits the spot!i’ve had the hangover sandwich, the mccrumb, waffle hash and breakfast burrito and i just find it really awesome that they feature other vegan restaurants food. that’s innovative and great for trying different options with each bakery purchase.if you love cannolis get the large otherwise the mini will do the trick!chocolate and confetti cake are a GREAT gift for any last minute parties!parking sucks but there’s nothing the business can do about it. i would do dine in more often if there was easier parking in the area because the decor is very fun. they take apple pay.Snippet of my original review:i buy here very often. i buy cakes for birthdays, uber eats for delivery and do pick up.for the first time, i had an issue and i told an employee and their response was indifferent. […] my solution: use the BOGO on uber eats when selling treats that their quality might not be up to par with usual standard and take customers concerns seriously.Vegetarian options: all vegan!!!Parking: parking is the worst. i would go there more often if parking was accessible.“

“Charming brunch spot nestled in a corner in Old City. I’d be a regular if I lived locally. Very similar to something you’d find in Alphabet City, NYC. Staff is nice and food was super fresh and flavorful, beautiful and mouth watering presentation. Rating 4 only because no non-dairy options and I was dying for coffee, and my daughter didn’t get her French toast until 4 of our party of 6 were already finished with our meals. Ordered 2 veg omelets, lox Benny, chocolate chip pancakes, blueberry pancakes, and French toast. Sorry no pics of the pancakes. Kids were too hungry. The egg dishes came out first, then the pancakes, with the French toast maybe 15-20 min later. Just need a little more attentive waitstaff but aside from that, great place to eat once you’re served!“
“I had the early gray milk tea with pearl boba and milk foam. It was amazing and they even put it in my reusable 16oz coffee cup!The place is so clean and the gentleman behind the counter was super helpful. I will for sure be back to try other flavors.“

“I lived in Seattle for almost two decades and will admit to being a bit of a coffee shop snob. The Nook hits so many of my high points. Extremely good locally roasted coffee (in-house!). Amazing baked goods. The cocoa coffee bread must be tried, but leave me a slice! Great staff. If I ever move out of the neighborhood, I'll journey to the Nook for a great cup and bite.“

“Delightful visit to this bakery! The mocha cake was heavenly—moist, rich in flavor, and with the perfect balance of coffee and chocolate. Paired with their freshly brewed coffee, it was an absolute treat. Cozy ambiance and friendly staff added to the wonderful experience. A must-try spot for anyone looking for quality cakes and coffee. Highly recommend!“

“We loved the casual, unpretentious vibe and great music, with a diverse crowd enjoying dinner on a recent Wed. evening. Our server recommended several things based on what we told her and they were 100% on the money. It's great to find creatively prepared dishes that don't sacrifice taste. “For my wife's and my wedding anniversary dinner, we ordered around 100 individual cakes from A La Mousse for our guests. We ordered mango mousses, papa bear cakes, and tiramisus. We all loved them!! We received so many positive reviews for the cakes, especially the mango mousse. The cakes were the perfect size also, presented beautifully, and all in all we thought added a really special touch to our celebration.Lynn and her staff at the South Street location are super friendly, helpful and were great to work with in the preparation for this event. This is definitely our go-to cake place in town!“

“Located in the heart of Chinatown, another establishment that doesn't take credit cards. Instead payment is via Venmo. So I guess that great since you don't need to pay tax. They have a limited selection of baked goods (see photos) and drinks. Menu is a bit chaotic to read (but this is Chinatown). Baked items are very fresh. Limited seating inside though. Prices are cheap for this economy.“

“There were no tables available when we got there in the afternoon so we ordered takeout. We split a Philly cheesesteak and a kale salad. “Service is both friendly and kind. We ordered an oat latte and an almond milk flat white to stay. We wanted to get pastries but at the time they had none left. I guess they make them little by little throughout the day because they told us more would be ready in twenty minutes or so. The presentation and execution is lovely. And I love the minimalist aesthetic. And there were several outlets available throughout the cafe for patrons doing some work. Plus points for a spacious and clean bathroom!“

“This place gives me nostalgia. There’s something about it that reminds me of being in Burlington Vermont coupled with the laidback apathetic individuality of living through 90s grunge era and listening to Elliott Smith and Neutral Milk Hotel. The interior aesthetic isn’t try hard (they showcase local art on the walls and theres a less-is-more vibe), but theres still a cozy sip-slow-and-linger feel. What sets it apart from other places for me is the muted warmth from the people who work there. The kind where you know if you become a regular you’ll get a half smile and they might remember your name, really adds to the overall charm. And even if this place had none of that going for it, the breakfast sandwiches alone are worth a 30-minute walk. Not only are they only like 6 bucks, but they are delicious. The eggs are incredibly well-seasoned, fluffy, and scrumptious. They also have unique lattes, like Cinnamon Toast Crunch (it actually tastes like it) and their matchas are spot on.Even though there’s at least a dozen coffee shops much closer to us, this is our go-to.“

“This place is an absolute gem. This bistro is family operated and we felt like family being there. Their daughter Holly even made a point to come over and introduce herself to our baby daughter. It was so hard to make a decision on what we wanted to eat due to everything sounding so wonderful. We went with “the rooster” and “the hot and honey” and with the baked brie. These were all a hit! Will be recommending Wood and Thyme to all family and friends.“

“Small little restaurant that was pretty empty when we went on Thursday afternoon. Food came out fast. Green tea was a little mid Scallion pancakes had great flavor and texture 8/10 Shrimp rice wrapper was decent 7/10 The pork bun was huge, not exactly the size of 4 little buns but still a considerable amount. 6/10 Shrimp balls were fun. I'm used to the type with the little wonton flakes or whatever it is coming off of it but this had a soft exterior. Great amount of meat, good texture 9/10 My gf wanted to come here just because of the sticky rice and it was decent 7/10. Kind of what you can expect from looking at the picture“

“The best place to have some coffee in the center city, continently located!Service is always great and friendly. There are long lines during rush hours, so plan ahead. It can be super crowded during lunch time as well. Try their strawberry matcha latte (iced or hot) - that’s my favorite there.“

“We checked out the Ground Up Cafe & Coffee shop last week in South Philly. This a great little coffee shop on East Passyunk. The decor was simple and fun with just a hint of an European vibe. Bistro seating was available inside and outside. It was very comfortable overall. The menu offered many choices from prepared sandwiches to baked goods. I wasn’t planning on eating, but then I saw scones - I had to try one. Cranberry - and it was delicious! The coffee was also very good (definitely made note of that for the next time I am in the neighborhood). The barista was also very pleasant. This is a great café to try while out and about shopping on East Passyunk. I’ll be back!#trustkj“

“Very nice quiet atmosphere. Very peaceful and I loved seeing the daughter and Mom duo. It's was refreshing to see considering I brought my daughter along with me. The Boba my daughter ordered wasn't sweet to her liking, and she was going to add additional sugar, however the owner called my daughter over to fix the drink. It's the little things and this business has it! ❤️“

“Clean minimal shop with quality matcha products and great ice cream.Strawberry and earl grey swirl are my current go to after dinner in Chinatown, however it is a seasonal flavor so get it while you can. I’ve also had the hojicha float which was refreshing and had a deep roasted nutty flavor with an edge of bitterness. What I enjoy most about this place is the typical Asian compliment when it comes to dessert “not so sweet”.Surreal is quite trendy but I find myself becoming quickly tired of it due to amount, all the toppings, and just the overall sweetness of the ice cream whereas matcha Maiko has the perfect amount of sweetness to remind you it’s a treat but not to the point where halfway through you feel like need water or tea to tone down the sugar“

“Stopped in after a doctor's appointment to grab some breakfast. It's easy to walk by the place and not realize it's there. The service was slow but friendly. They have a really nice seating area upstairs. Lots of sun and artwork. I had a toffee nut latte which was disappointing. The espresso was burned and the latte didn't have much flavor. The bagel sandwich on the otherhand was delicious! A nice soft everything bagel with real egg and sausage. Very tasty. I will probably try it again at some point to give the coffee another shot.“

“really cute bubble tea/coffee establishment! i have always heard of this place but never got to check it out until recently and it's becoming one of my favorite shops. i tried the white coffee with coffee jelly and it's amazing. it definitely has a strong coffee flavor (i think vietnamese coffee), so if you're in need of a caffeine boost, i recommend coming here. i originally wanted to try the egg coffee, but they told me they didn't have it. i tried checking their online ordering system for a couple days and it seems like they haven't had it in a while. i've been enjoying egg coffee a lot recently from other places and i was a bit disappointed that they didn't have it, but i hope it comes back soon! the atmosphere is also very chill if you want to do some work or hang out with friends. overall, i recommend it and would come back soon.“

“I visited this neighborhood restaurant before. As a couple, we could only try so much of their offerings.Last night was with a large group, which turned out to be fabulous because, thanks to our sharing of all their appetizers and entrees, I had the opportunity to sample much of their menu.I would be remiss if I didn't mention the bartenders' skill and passion in mixing up any cocktail you may wish to have. The wait staff was attentive, accommodating, and professional. The food; lamb tartare, red beet carpaccio, goose/foie gras terrine, duck breast, baked fluke, spinach/ricotta gnocchi, cheddar stuffed hush puppies, double cheeseburger, and the 26oz bone-in ribeye. Everything was amazing, even the 2 desserts and cheese plate, which I only tasted because....too much. We did, for the record, ask for seconds on the duck breast, as it was simply superb. Now, I must say that the wine list, for such a fantastic food line up, was very disappointing. What you see on the menu by the glass, is what is offered by the bottle. Slim pickings. All and all, great drinks and food. Will surely be back.Cheers!“

“as long as quality coffee exists, cold wet gray days don’t make for the severe downer that they could be. stopped here before walking to Center City. ordered a large Americano—carefully crafted by the barista who took my order. the coffee was smooth and deep in flavor…served super hot which is a necessity on those chilly sun-less days. the service was pleasant. tbh, if i didn’t have a lunch destination, i would’ve ordered one of the signature liege waffle which look good. the cafe / coffee shop has plenty of seating with a warm yet modern feel whether you’re working, studying, or just need a moment of respite from the din of life. look forward to stop here during warmer days!“

“Everything about Winkel was amazing: gluten free options, friendly staff, and tastes that had our table quiet due to the savoring. My niece loved the giant hot chocolate and waffle. My sister had the eggs Benedict with artichokes (can't remember its menu name), and she couldn't get over how many artichokes were included--and she thought the hollandaise was perfect. I had a breakfast sandwich one day and the Waldorf salad the next day. The salad dressing - a mustard vinegarette was tangy and delicious. The gluten free bread on my breakfast sandwich was like BREAD and the eggs, gouda, and thick-cut bacon were an amazing combo with the potatoes and salad. The Waldorf salad was flavorful and amazing. We went to Winkel two days in a row because we loved it so much. Get there if you're in Philly!“

“Absolutely amazing experience! The matcha latte was honestly the best quality I have ever tasted! All the food we ordered wasn't too sweet, and the matcha flavor itself was delicious! I was wary of a matcha overload, but it was perfect. The atmosphere is adorable too, and the matcha was in a cute green cup. I admire how even the ice cream cone wasn't the generic too-sweet cone. My kid brother loved the stuffed animals, and we will definitely come back!! ?“

“I’ve walked by this spot so many times, and it seemed every time I was hungry they were closed (closed on weekends) but today I finally stepped in. I ordered 2 bánh mìs and a Vietnamese coffee. Pete, the owner/operator of the spot was the only one there and we instantly jumped into great conversation about the music scene in Philly back in the late 90s. We ended up knowing a lot of the same people. Philly is a tight knit group. So even before eating the food I was already a fan of this spot. Pete served me his special take on Vietnamese coffee while we talked and he made the sandwiches. The iced coffee was excellent, but different and less sweet than Vietnamese coffee I’ve had in the past. He also used ice cubes made of coffee which was an added bonus for a coffee junkie like myself. After we talked for nearly 20 min, I walked home with my sandwich and WOW! Such a solid bánh mì! I told him to make it like he would make it for himself (spicy) and he knocked it out of the park. I’ll be back and I’ll be bringing all my music friends here when they are in the neighborhood. I highly encourage Olde City residents as well as Philly locals to give this place a try!“
