“This ain't no chain restraint, so people complaining about boxes in the dining area should go to PF Chang's or Panda Express. It's a local family owned restaurant that has been part of the community for over 20 years. Our serven named Sun was amazing and super friendly. Our combination plates were big and filling. Enough leftovers for dinner. The appetizer called the PoPo platter was a great variety and super tasty. Next time we're in town, we plan on eating here again. ?“
“Staff friendly and prompt. Food was tasty , good price. I ordered the sweet and sour shrimp and it was very good. Nice and crispy and just enough sauce. One of my favorite restaurants in abq, and so far the best Chinese food I've had in “
“You ever go in to restaurant expecting to just eat and leave, but end up laughing yourself to death because you vibe so well with the employees? That was our experience on 03/04 and Zu Hot Pot became the pinnacle highlight of our trip to Abq. Usually the highlight of a trip to Abq is not getting shot or robbed and this place far surpassed the usual expectations. The food was great, the hot pot was a new welcome experience much akin to a mongolian grill theme but different all on its own. The best part though was our waiter Tomas pronounced toe-moss I believe. Personally I would have gone with Tom-is but I digress and believe this young person should identify to whatever pronunciation Tomas prefers.Tomas came over and greeted us with an attitude befitting his age(16) and someone who works(possibly unwillingly) for the family business. Once I caught wind of the vibe and energy Tomas was presenting, we were quickly able to relate and joke through the rest of the night. The dry humor, subtle sarcasm, and slightly laxadasical attitude could turn some people off but for us it opened a door to a hilarious night of jokes, jabs, and laughter. We really enjoyed the night and have tons of jokes and laughs and overall great memories. I will be back to this place anytime I have the misfortune of ending up in Abq and look forward to more hilarious experiences and sneaking french fries into the hot pot.“
“Service was great! Very friendly and welcoming people. Got Pork Fried Rice with extra pork, Happy Family and Sweet and Sour Shrimp. All of the food was good to better than good but didn't quite hit great and portion sizes were medium. Will probably be back.“
“Wonderful place really good food. I'm not a sushi fan, I went with my family, they love sushi and they were impressed. I had the Hawaiian rice (yes with pineapple) and it was delicious. We had the mussels for an appetizer and they were some of the best mussels I have ever had truly delicious. Our server was a great guy really enjoyed, but I forgot his name, Sorry. But, yeah great place great food, a wonderful night.Oh yeah, try the unfiltered saki, very good.“
“Found this place on google and I am so Glad I did . The food is AMAZING and the staff is so warm and welcoming and absolutely WONDERFUL. The Atmosphere is Cozy and Comfortable . It was just the perfect place for a quiet and delicious meal .“
“If you walk into a Chinese restaurant and see that over half the people inside are Chinese, then you know you found a good place.Neo Szechuan is Authentic, capital A intended!Want a flavorful, crispy orange chicken? You got it! Want spicy fried chicken? They got it here! Want a seafood and tofu hot pot that will burn your mouth? Done! This is, so far, the best Chinese food I have had in ABQ, and I would absolutely come back if I am craving it again.“
“This was my first time at this restaurant. For the money, I was given a big meal that was very good. I saw that they serve one of my favorite noodle dish, chow fun. I’ll be coming back to try the beef chow fun. I’ll probably have to bring my own hot mustard since they only have the packets which is hardly hot mustard. I like to mix hot mustard and soy sauce together and pour a little over the noodles. It’s also a good dipping sauce for egg rolls, pot stickers, dim sum, and to have with beef broccoli.“
“My mom and I always ask to split the Jjamppong (Korean seafood noodle soup) and jajangmyeon (Korean black bean noodles) into two to share, with the Korean seafood pancake. One of our favorite spots in town. Very good service and relaxing atmosphere.“
“WOW!! some of the best Asian food ever! The egg drop soup was DELICIOUS! Jasmine tea was so flavorful and comforting. The food wait was perfect and the staff friendly. Looking forward to going back, The atmosphere could use some "warmer" décor along with maybe some low instrumental Asian music to add to the experience.“
“Really great food they’re always super fast, I also cannot stress enough how delicious the chicken on a stick is. Cheap and tasty and even better left over. Thank u happy garden ? fav Chinese I’ve had in abq. Dine in isn’t an option but the service is fast. I always call ahead.“
“I went here yesterday after work for a Chinese New Year dinner. They were already slammed with a full house of Asian people celebrating and the phone was ringing off the hook with orders. They still took care of everyone very well and the food was amazing. They were so busy because everyone knows this place is so good.Order: small wonton soup, combination egg foo yung, garlic chicken. Yeah, that's a lot for one person (portions are very generous), but I wanted to take some home to enjoy over the weekend.SO GOOD, all of it. I wish all of them and you a happy lunar new year. And I appreciate the service.“
“I love the personal attention you get here. After my 1st visit, Fai not only remembered my name but what I ordred. The food is great and large portions. My go-to is chicken chow mein and general tsoi and egg fu young. I'm trying to get thru the entire menu. Definitely worth substituting pork fried rice it's the best. FYI I'm Asian American and recommend Fai Wong.“
“This is by far the best in Albuquerque. My partner is from Taiwan…..the flavors and preparation is authentic. So may dishes and wonderful flavors and fresh seafood…we are never disappointed. Everyone we have taken here come back and love the food.“
“This is a very nice family-style place where the food is well-prepared and the staff is friendly. I'd call it a mix of authentic and American Chinese fare, and both kinds are well done. I look forward to exploring more of the menu in the future.“
“My sister has been raving about this place and I finally get the hype... it's great! I highly recommend the wontons in chili oil, the soup dumplings, bok choy, and cucumber salad. We loved everything! Can't wait to visit again and try the water spinach and more of the bao.“
“LOVEEEEE this place! Came here a few weeks ago with a group and everyone had an amazing time and left happy and full! Came again today with my partner and got the same thing plus more to-go! The black garlic ramen is so delicious and the noodles always taste great with a perfect texture. The fried rice is always a go to for me it’s very yummy especially with some spicy mayo! The pan fried bao is perfect and the sauce adds so much flavor with the sweetness, the crab rangoon is also really good the filling is so smooth and creamy. The general tsos was very good even without any noodles or rice! The service is amazing every time and was very understanding and helpful with our spilt checks. They are very friendly and the food comes quickly! Price is also reasonable for a good meal, about $13-16 for a large bowl of ramen that is hard to finish completely without leftovers!Definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants ramen or other authentic plates for lunch or dinner!“
“Can honestly say it was a great first experience here. They only have one waiter running the floor, but he’s definitely on top of it! (Forgot to ask his name). And the cooks certainly know what they’re doing, it shows in their cooking. Pricing very reasonable. I certainly recommend this place if you’re looking for a small Chinese restaurant you’ve never tried before!“
“I ordered the shrimp fried rice and the wontons.Shrimp fried rice was pretty good. Wontons tasted fresh and everything had a good flavor.Waitress was nice, i believe there was only one waitress. It was empty with only one other person eating . They did not have sushi, which was obviously displayed so no issues.I was pleasantly surprised because ive heard that the past restaurants at this location were really bad I would definitely go again. Most dishes were under 15 dollars which was nice.“
“The food was here was amazing, quickly made but you could tell it's authenticity. It was a joy to eat and I would love to come back here! Strongly recommend! Staff was already very kind and the restaurant as a whole was very clean with staff cleaning the table before we sat. Again, just an amazing restaurant with incredible food!“
“This establishment is by far the best Chinese restaurant in the city and quite possibly in the entire state. I frequently visit this establishment to get the tea smoked beef or the coffee chicken. Both are absolutely incredible dishes with an incredible explosion of flavor. The atmosphere is always wonderful and the staff is friendly and attentive. I will continue to frequent this establishment as long as it is around. Top tier restaurant for sure!“
“When it comes to places, my s/o and I try multiple pertaining to that food category, if it be italian cuisine, to mexican cuisine, to chinese cuisine, etc. One of my top picks that outdoes the rest has to be China Garden, with its homely atmosphere, to their top service and food selection, perfect for any setting you are doing. I always try a different item on their menu, and never left hungry or unhappy. Please check them out and see for yourself!“
“Finally found a decent Chinese restaurant in ABQ. It’s been discouraging until we found this place. We’ve eaten there 4 times in the last month. Both take out and dine in. Everything has been really good, except the General Tso’s Chicken. It was ok, but not great. I recommend this place.“
“We came in for dinner. Food was soooo flavorful and fresh! Our service was top tier, and our server was very sweet! I've been a waitress for 15 years and I'm leaving here happy and full! My new favorite place to eat at! If you're looking for yummy cooked Chinese food, I most definitely recommend this place! Thank you so much.“
“Having had a lot of variety of Asian cuisine in Honolulu, Hawaii, and in Oakland and San Francisco, California, where there are large Asian communities with all three cities having a Chinatown, I have to say that the quality of the food here is amazing. I will definitely come back and this time with my housemates!“
“The outside doesn't look the best, but omg the food! The seafood Cajun boil was absolutely delicious ?? the spicy ramen could've been spicier but was filling n good too. The soup dumplings were amazing too, let them cool a lil first before eating! The server was very attentive not only to us but to 5 other tables! No one had to flag her down nor was left with empty drinks. We were impressed! Definitely going again! Reasonable prices too!“
“The food is the star, and the lady behind the counter is the queen. I love that the food is ready to go and fresh and tasty and very inexpensive. When I leave with my to-go order, I am set for a couple of days with leftovers. I keep meaning to order off the menu, but the buffet is so perfect, I don't. I heard someone order the Sweet and Sour Pork with a garlic cream sauce (instead of sweet and sour) and I always mean to order that... Maybe next time.“
“This was my GO TO place whenever I visited Albuquerque and has become a staple since moving here. Waitstaff is so friendly and the food is so good!!! Scallion pancake is a must. Cucumber salad is delicious, the ambiance is nice, honestly cannot recommend enough.“
“Welcome to the new dragon place is not very sanitary, but is indeed it is very delicious and very tasteful. I always love coming by here to taste something. New prices are very fair and they are very fast. They take care of me every time I come by so I do recommend coming down and trying it.“
“Really enjoyed our lunch of Cashew Chicken and Twice cooked Pork and it was a very good value. Even the egg drop soup seemed rich in flavor. I am sure dinner menu will be just as good and look forward to trying more in the future.Service was pleasant. Atmosphere, not fancy, but comfortable.“
“My new go to place. The food is really good and filling. Big portions for little money making it a great value. You have to try out this Little gem. It's kinda messy inside and the furniture is dated but the food, the food and service are above a lot of places in Albuquerque!“
“Thank you for feeding us on Xmas! This family is beyond kind and generous for their customers. You are greeted with kindness and fresh food! They fed so many families on Xmas, I hope they were able to relax later! Thank you, I will always remember your kindness and delicious food!“
“I have had a few dishes from Golden Chopsticks, and I have to give a tough verdict of 4 stars. The first time, I ordered sesame chicken and brown rice. The chicken was flavorful and had strong aromas of ginger! However, it has lost its crisp within mere minutes of sitting in the takeout container with all the sweet, gingery sauce on there. I was a bit disappointed by that. The rice was cooked with the right amount of water, but was nothing impressive. The second time, I had chicken lo mein and brown rice. The lo mein was fantastic! It was cooked perfectly, and had a nice, well-spiced garlicy flavor. My one complaint about the lo mein is that it was a tad too greasy. You could see a small pool of grease at the bottom of the takeout container! The third time I had the chicken and broccoli with pork fried rice. The chicken was tender and juicy, but my goodness, talk about BLAND! That dish was just plain SAD! The pork fried rice was nothing to hit home about either. It was just rice with a few bits of pork here and there in addition to a small handful of large chunks of undercooked vegetables.Overall, I'd say Golden Chopstick's food sits on the fence between 3 and 4 stars. However, it gets 4 stars because A) prices are reasonable and B) you will get a lot of food! It's enough food to have leftovers for the next day! With all that said, I got 3 pieces of advice for the person who reads this review1. Get the lo mein2. Get the lo mein3. GET THE LO MEIN“
“I’m currently eating their beef fried rice(with double beef because why not) and it still reigns one of my most favorite meals. I love eating in Santa Fe in the plaza, old town Albuquerque and sawmill but there’s not a single place at any of those places that compares to here. Ps always get the crab rangoons and slather them in sauce your taste buds will thank you!“
“Giving this 5 stars to help raise their score. I don’t get why it’s so low! For years I’ve gone to El Dorado Bakery on Broadway for the menudo, so naturally seeing the much lower score of El Dorado #3, I was very hesitant to try it. However, The Broadway location is a 20 minute drive and the one on Coors is only 5 minutes! And when you’re hung over, the shorter drive is better! I tried their menudo and flautas today, and both get a 4.5 out of 5 in my book! This has been the only place that does flautas right and even has a potato option! Their salsa was the best I’ve had in town! It def tasted like Chile de árbol and red tomato flavor without the usual tomato paste flavor that other salsas in ABQ tend to have. The menudo could be spicier for me but the flavor def made up for the lack of spice. Excited to go back and try out the rest of the menu. My order was to go so don’t expect the cute yellow bowl in my pic ?Also, there was a woman singing Yolanda Del Rio covers so that’s a win win win for me! Oh and yes, the bread was bomb. Come on now.EDIT: To address the customer service issues from previous reviews...service when I went was super fast. The lady that was singing only sang 1.5 songs while I was there and BOOM, my order was up! The music was way too loud and I had to shout my order to the cashier..but I would still go back lol. Hoping they read this and lower the volume on the speaker. Also, the restaurant was super full and I still got my order in under 10 minutes.“
“The portions are huge, great for the price. I absolutely loved the egg drop soup. The vegetable Egg Foo Young was different from what I'm used to, but still tasty! Family style environment, which my daughter loved. I wanted take out, but we met in the middle and took the rest back to our hotel room. The server was really busy but very polite and fast!!“
“Good atmosphere good food I got the thai noodles and sesame chicken it was fresh tasting they did ok with time I went on my lunch break which was 30 minutes it took them about 15 to get the food out so I would order ahead of your in a rush and also be prepared to pay for “
“Miriam was our waitress and she was so pleasant and efficientThank you, Miriam, for making our experience wonderful! The food was delicious and I'd recommend this place to anyone.Dietary restrictions: My daughter got the gluten free chicken and rice dish, so I know they have gluten free options.“
