I was recently in Artesia, and we ate dinner one evening at La Herradura (LH). LH is a restaurant that is literally on the other side of the tracks in a poor part of Artesia; however, do not let that deter you! The food is great, and the price is superb, especially compared to the price of New Mexican food in a larger city. We joined our daughter and her family for a late lunch on a Saturday. We did not have to wait for a table. Service was amazing, and the food was delicious. Prices are reasonable too! I ordered a combination plate with green chili. The green chili was meaty, and this green enchilada sauce was one of the BEST I have ever had! I also loved their fresh taco that's on the plate.
