What a happy spot! We stopped by for dinner on a cross country roadtrip and we were so pleasantly surprised! The chicken was as good as any I've ever had. Prices and service were wonderful! And this place is clearly a hit with the locals.

We travel through Cuba frequently throughout the year. We have visited several eating establishments and left unimpressed with the quality of their food and the price. We decided to give Mel's a try. Having nine in our group, we ordered the roasted chicken, the tacos, the wrap, the hamburger, and the three piece chicken dinner. Each entrée was delicious! The roasted chicken was perhaps the best chicken we have ever eaten. The breast was hot and juicy. You have to give their BBQ sauce a try. The flavor starts with a sweet BBQ sauce and then has a slight, but wonderful, burn. It is addicting! While we shared the sauce, some of us wanted to drink it! The service was amazing! The employees called on us several times to check our needs. This place is a real jewel in Cuba! We will definitely stop here on our next trip. We will probably eat one and take another of their roasted chickens home with us.

This is one of those unassuming little roadside stops that ends up having delicious food. The first time I visited was purely by chance during a raid trip back from Oregon. Now, my teenage boys and I have made it a new student driver's rite of passage to make the hour and 15 min drive out to Cuba for lunch at Mel's. Very reasonably priced, the staff have always been welcoming and friendly and the food puts all the fast food chicken to shame.

Hey, it is a very small town. But the emphasis is on quality of prep and taste. Chicken sanders and ribs are my favorite. Do try the sandwiches. I suspect you will be satisfied. ENJOY!!!Parking: Many spots for parking.
I had a perfectly cooked and utterly delicious burger stacked high with fresh lettuce and tomato, green chile and melted cheese. Also ordered a side of beans which were also particularly good and a provided me with energy until late into the night. If you are hungry in Cuba you don’t have a lot of choices- so pull in, meet a dog, and enjoy a delicious home cooked meal at Mel’s.Vegetarian options also include mac n cheese, cole slaw and potatoes. Incredible value to boot.

Stopped at Mel’s on the way to Sante Fe and had a brisket and pork sandwich. The food was outstanding. One of the best BBQ meats we’ve had. If you’re in the area highly recommend stopping.

Great little addition to our road trip! Our family of 5 ate for under $45. Everyone left stuffed. Big portions. Has a drive-through or dine in option. Super cute outdoor seating also. We opted to dine in. The indoor seating is minimal but we made it work for us. A favorite of our family was the chicken tenders. The ghost pepper sauce was fun to try! Not super over powerful spicy but a nice little kick. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking for our truck and small trailer. Not a long wait time. I do wish the menu had better pricing listed and the bathroom a little nicer.

Just driving thru and saw fried chicken and BBQ, so we stopped. Got the pork BBQ sandwich with onion rings. Was awesome. The fried chicken looked so good we bought some to take home for supper. It was great too. The prices were very reasonable.
