“Wow. Simply wow. This is a gem of a place. I had the pleasure of eating here a while back, about 3-4 years ago. Recently went again and the food has not changed. Authenticity is of course in the eye of the beholder, but I feel many will agree when i say this is authentic Mexican cuisine. It's not often I see salsa torreada at establishments, let alone chicharron prensado done the right way! I tend to stay away from mexican restaurants, trucks, etc because I am usually let down by the lack of flavor. However this spot is an exception. The food here is amazing. Reminds me of home cooking in actual Mexico. The atmosphere set up they have going on, and the service they provide rivals that of taqueria spots in many mexican towns. I thoroughly enjoy my visits here and highly recommend people to swing by and hopefully experience a similar reaction.”

“They have very good food, but the space is tiny and cramped. The server looked annoyed the whole time and ignored the phone.Parking: Tiny parking lot. Difficult to get to because of construction, so you have to go through the alley.Wheelchair accessibility: NO wheelchair accessibility.”

“Decent food. Like a Taco truck grew up into a building. They took over ten minutes to get a fairly basic order out with a fairly empty house, though. They seem to prioritize their drive thru traffic. I would go back, for sure.”

“Came here for dinner on a Saturday and the parking lot and inside the restaurant was packed. However, we were able to be seated and helped right away. Our waitress recommended the jimador special plate, and I was not disappointed. It comes with steak, chicken, and shrimp on a bed of rice and side of tortillas. The steak was super flavorful and the best part. We also got carne asada tacos which were delicious as well. Prices are very reasonable and everything was great. Highly recommend coming here if you are in the area!”

“We were in Carlsbad to see the Caverns and Thelma’s was close to Carlsbad RV park. This is a unique experience from food, atmosphere and service! We had our dog Bailey with us and the owner went back in the kitchen and made her a complimentary beef patty! (Later brought out bacon!!!) They are such warm and caring people. Her sister in law waited on us like we were family.I wish more businesses would adopt this approach!”

“Had some great beers here as we were passing through Carlsbad. The Brown and Red ales were a treat as many brewers don't try or don't do as good a job as Milton's. I recommend you stop by for beer or, better yet, a flight.”

“Awesome, I went to pick up some ice cream for my wife. I got two scoops of strawberries with cream added in fresh pineapple and pecans. Oh so delicious. The place has expanded to include dining in and a business to wire money. The place was clean inside and outside quite cozy too. The young ladies that work there are so nice and attentive to your requests.”

“I have eaten at a lot of Chinese buffets from east to west. There are not ten but eight Chinese buffets. This one ranks first. The price is less than 20, and it is popular on both the east and west coasts.”

“We visited Carlsbad and knew we were coming here after a long day of hiking. The atmosphere and staff was so friendly and they were very helpful! Sad to see they weren’t selling alcohol currently, but once we learned why, we were happy to continue to support a local business! We got the wings and a margharita pizza and it was delicious!! I’m not a big pizza fan, but I loved theirs!! Overall, we really enjoyed our experience and I had always intended to leave a review…BUT THEN, 15 minutes after they closed, I realized I left my purse hanging on a chair and we were leaving town the next morning. Tiffany was so kind to respond to my message on their FB and meet me at the brewery to give me my bag wayyy after they were already closed. She was SO KIND and saved me a huge hassle. Not to mention she was the one who helped serve us. She was constantly cleaning tables, serving customers and taking their orders. You can tell she is committed to her job. So AWESOME JOB Guadalupe Brewing Co. ?? Highly recommend yall!! Would give 10 ⭐️ if I could!”

“The food truck is immediately to your left after entering an RV lot. The brisket was awesome. The owner was super nice. Great place to go after visiting the caverns or hiking in Guadeloupe. Serving size was huge.”

“Went down today from Roswell hoping to make it back before school, didn’t make it in time but it was well worth it!! I got the breakfast quesadilla and the brisket nachos. Hands down the best quesadilla I’ve ever had! Brisket nachos were also amazing! If you’re in town…even if you’re not, I highly recommend stopping by and getting something, customer service is just as good as the food! 10/10 gonna have to make that drive for it again!”

“Enjoyable roadside haunt. I really enjoyed my Huevos Divorciados at La Patrona. Yes, I know it was lunch, but hey it was super good. I had asked for "Christmas" and got a nice amount of red and green chili on my food. I shared a "steak" taco from one of the family and used a tiny packet of "red sauce" to enhance the flavor. Boy, that red chili sauce was ear steaming hot! The heat didn't mask the flavor of the meat or the avocado in the taco... but I know where they got the inspiration for the steam out of the ears in cartoons now.”

“I usually get tacos here for lunch. My wife and I love them because they are not greasy. Made to order while you wait for them. Of course the shell is pre-made, as are the rest of the ingredients which make for a fast turnaround time. This time I went to get nopales and corn chips. I ended up skipping the nopales because they were old and had dark spots on them. So I only got the chips.”

And the salsa is amazing. For a HEAVY plate with a monster and chips, I only paid $10. Very happy. And full.”

“An excellent Mexican food meal. Queso and guacamole are good and reasonably priced. Carne Asada, tacos, quesadillas. Most expensive thing on the menu was $14. Seriously recommend that you skip the over priced restaurants and eat here. This was our best meal in Carlsbad.”
