“There are lots of good things to say about Dayan. The place is clean, the owner is super friendly, and the portion sizes are 1/3 larger for the price than we've gotten at any sushi place in Halifax or the Valley. On the down side, we had 5 different rolls between us, all spicy, and unfortunately the sauce was so heavy handed that the only taste differentiation was the fact that some had teriyaki sauce and some didn’t. The rolls were also a bit hard to eat as they fell apart when picked up. Fresh food and good value, but a little more variety in flavour would be appreciated.”

“This place feels like the platonic ideal of a diner. They've got pie, they've got a fun retro interior, they've got a no-frills menu that delivers big portions at surprisingly cheap prices. I was visiting from out of town, but if I lived nearby I'd dine here often.
P.S. I think they take debit, but they prefer cash!”

“I already left a google review a few weeks back, and since I couldn’t leave another - I had to track down your Facebook page! I am THE pickiest pizza eater I know. Half acre cafe 100% gets my stamp of approval. They are hands down the best pizza place in the valley. Tried the wings tonight too, and they were PERFECT! (Dasher sucked, our food was cold - but it was still better cold than any hot pizza I’ve had around here in years!)”

The New Minas Location is the worst I've ever been too, all locations should take a lead from the Kentville drive thru location.”

“The old lobster pound has been updated with a restaurant. The floor had a consider slope to it. We had to sit sideways on our chairs to avoid sliding off. The lobster roll is one of the best around. The onion rings were very good and plentiful. The scallops were great. The cold salads were a bit of a letdown. I am fairly certain they were from a bucket at a grocery store. They were not homemade like in the past.”

“Small, cozy restaurant. Five of us ate in the restaurant. The food arrived quickly and was excellent. We had the best dumplings any of us had ever had. The price was less than we are used to paying for a similar order. I highly recommend eating here.”

“I've had a lot of fun at open mic over the last few months. I hope it continues, it's great to see so many positive faces come out to jam and have a great time. New Minas always needs more of this and Jesse has certainly catered to as many as he can.”
